  1. Peralta pitched very well tonight, and using Broxton for 4 outs in a high leverage situation was the right call With Fiers going tomorrow I'm optimistic the Brewers can get 2 in a row Broxton has been used in 4 straight games though and probably shouldn't be used/available tomorrow
  2. Brewers are tied with Atlanta, 1.5 games behind the Pirates for the 2nd wild-card spot
  3. Good to get a "W" Did'ya know that Gerardo Parra came into this game batting .295 with the Brewers? (and went 2-4 tonight) I bash Melvin plenty but that was a heckuva trade
  4. Now that's just going too far! Just say "no" to Yuni B!
  5. Just to mess with you 'stache! K-Rod can't blow another one, can he? At least he has a 3 run cushion
  6. Clark tied with Gordon Beckham in 2008 for the NCAA lead in HR's
  7. Matt's Dad (Terry) pitched in MLB for 6 years with 7 different teams http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/c/clarkte01.shtml
  8. Clark has had 3 straight years putting up an .860+ OPS in AAA with @ 23 HR's per year (.924 OPS this year) He'll turn 28 in December. Not sure if he's a long term solution but he could certainly replace Overbay in 2015 while we wait for Coulter
  9. Lucroy with 50 Doubles this season. Extremely impressive
  10. I would tend to agree that Gennett's .286 BA vs LH starting pitchers points to the possibility of him being a fulltime 2B in the future. He certainly deserves a shot.
  11. Sounds good to me at this point. They should be playing the young guys and see what they have. Honestly, I'm starting to wonder if Braun should just be shut down for the rest of the season since his thumb seems to be getting worse. Yeah, Braun in the 2nd half of 2014 is hitting .229 with a .676 OPS That isn't the real Ryan Braun
  12. We'll find out next year if Clint Coulter can hit AA pitching. If so, he's likely our 1B in 2016 I'm OK with Scooter hitting LHP, or finding a occasional platoon partner for him, as others said it is a low priority right now compared to bigger problems: I think the organization needs a different approach. Maybe that needs to be addressed with a new GM, or maybe Mark A is meddling too much, but this perpetual "go for it" year without ever completely going for it is maddening. Overpaying "name" free agent pitchers year after year has done more harm (Suppan/Garza) than good (Lohse) I think RRR needs to be replaced. For whatever reason the team just isn't working under his leadership right now Segura will come around Braun isn't really all that overpaid relative to inflation. He needs to have surgery though Fiers/Peralta/Nelson look solid for the future. This team needs to trade Gallardo/Lohse/Garza and rebuild Mark A won't rebuild, even for a year, and thus that is really the main problem with this team. You cannot fire an owner, a leopard won't change it's spots, and really Groundhog Day is the Milwaukee Brewers franchise
  13. Yes if Coulter can continue hitting at each level and can play 1B that would fill a huge hole
  14. This is indeed THE All-Time Brewer collapse
  15. Garza is a veteran leader who displays heart & toughness
  16. "We just haven't gotten that big hit" said Roenicke in the post-game interview Y'think?!!!
  17. Yo's ERA would go down quite impressively if he pitched in San Diego
  18. My superstition is that when Matt Garza pitches I drink a lot of beer
  19. That is a completely different franchise. The Packers have won more NFL Championships than any other team and have sold out every game for decades. The Brewers have never won a World Series. They have never sold out every game in a season. Their fanbase is much more fragile
