  1. Elian Herrera has an outside chance of pushing for playing time
  2. The Brewers have a long history of casual fans who love to drink beer, tailgate and have fun at the ballpark in the summer but say "same old Brewers" when mid-August comes around and turn 97% of their attention to the Green Bay Packers. Mark A came in and by building a team that stays in contention many years and has made the playoffs a couple of times, the culture around Miller Park changed and it gives fans hope that the Crew can actually be good & a contender year in and year out. Mark A reignited excitement and enthusiasm about the Brewers. The Brewers are dangerously close, now, after this epic collapse, to taking a huge step backwards with the fan base. If they bring back this same roster, essentially, with the same GM & same manager, it is going to be an extremely difficult sell to the fans. The Brewers could lose a significant amount of money next year. I see Mark A as having 2 choices: wholesale changes in the player roster including unprecedented dips into free agency, or cleaning house with the front office. The fans need to see that the 2015 Brewers won't be the "same old Brewers"
  3. My concern is that this is all Braun ever would have been without steroids
  4. Ain't it just about inevitable now? A collapse like this makes it a tough sell to season ticket holders without making changes.
  5. 3 and 2/3's innings. He didn't make it through 4 complete
  6. On the plus side maybe I can score $20 tickets in the front row during the last week of the season
  7. We're just a Grand Slam away from tying this baby up!
  8. Lord have mercy, this team is terrible But have faith, Brewers fans, this hasn't happened yet!
  9. Reynolds having an OBP 90 points higher than his BA would be awesome if he hit even .260, but he is a .198 hitter
  10. Gallardo is a "veteran leader" on the team and that would be undignified to treat him like that
  11. Wow... Ozuna's HR was way way gone.... I suppose Yo needed to work his way back to career norms in ERA
  12. Other than the White Sox (mostly because I want to see Jose Abreu in person), there aren't many teams coming to town (other than the teams we see here every year) that are worth getting excited about, in my opinion. Would love to see the Tigers, A's, Angels, Red Sox, or Rays at Miller Park
  13. I'd like to see Mark A clean house in the next few days to send a clear & concise message to players & fans that the type of collapse that the Brewers have had will not be tolerated.
  14. Don't forget about beer, but they are probably contractually obligated to drink only one kind anyway. Budweiser, apparently
  15. The players might force Mark A's hand if they continue to completely tank the rest of the season. I think Roenicke is a good solid manager and that most of the fault here lies with Melvin. However, when players just give up on a season an owner is usually forced to make a managerial change
  16. It is certainly an impressive accomplishment considering all the grueling injury rehabs & surgeries he had to go through. Congrats Rickie!
  17. Personally I think Jimmy Nelson could be a very strong closer at a fraction of the cost of K-Rod/Broxton
  18. For one thing, Harrison is now a millionaire, having signed with the Brewers. College Football grinds up human beings like a butcher shop. Tons of talented players get injured in college football and never make the NFL I've read that Baseball is Harrison's favorite sport. He could always do something similar to Russell Wilson and go back to Football if Baseball doesn't work out. Harrison has an absolute cannon (throws 90+ mph from the Outfield) and great baserunning instincts. If he can continue to develop his hitting he can be an MLB star. This is from 2013. He has shortened up his swing and made it more efficient since then. Monte is not a mere athlete who happens to be good at Baseball. He is a straight up ballplayer
  19. Monte's skillset of being able to change direction the instant he catches the football to elude a defender is pretty much elite level. There is a reason Nebraska guaranteed him a starting Wide Receiver spot as a true freshman.
  20. I didn't like seeing Logan Schafer getting meaningful at-bats in this game (and yes I know he really squared one up that Bourjos made an amazing play on.) Schafer had a .549 OPS this season going into tonight's game
  21. Just competitive enough to keep fans buying tickets into September but never completely "All In"
  22. Speaking of how athletically gifted this kid is:
  23. Of all the players that one could question the attitude and effort of, Lucroy would be one of the very last on my list. The guy has started 114 games at Catcher this season and has played in 130 out of 139 games this season!!!!
