  1. This is the new disciplinary system of the site, effective forthwith. Coinciding with the Brewers' [relative] success this year, there has been a steady influx of new posters arriving at this site. While we are glad to have people eager to come here and discuss baseball, an ever-expanding user base means that there will invariably be a number of disagreeable individuals in the mix. In order to rectify this, we are ramping up our disciplinary process. Fortunately, most of you will not notice any difference; the primary goals of this system are simply to make things more structured, attain better consistency, and to reduce the amount of subjectivity that is involved when moderating. I trust that 'three strikes and you're out' is a concept that most everyone here is familiar with and will have little problem understanding. Essentially, each time that a moderator warns you about behavior that violates the conduct guidelines of the message board, a strike will be charged against you. In order for the warnings to be more direct and conspicuous, they will be imparted via PM to the offender's inbox; regardless of whether one reads or acknowledges the warning, the strike still counts. The individual will be dismissed from the message board upon accumulation of three of these strikes; and trust me, I will be keeping track. It should be noted that administrators reserve the right to bypass these steps; in certain instances, an individual's actions warrant an immediate dismissal, regardless of prior offenses. Warning-worthy behavior includes, but is not limited to: ? Swearing or attempting to skirt the cuss filter; damn, ass, hell, and piss are currently allowable, abuse them and you'll lose them ? Baiting and/or flaming ? Flagrant political, religious, or sexual comments ? Disrespect and/or condescension towards fellow posters ? Crass and unsavory behavior ? Posting vulgar/obscene pictures and links ? Chronic discouraged behavior; excessive use of emoticons, constant one-line posts, etc. Immediate bans will result from: ? Racist/prejudicial comments ? Harassment of other members (particularly via PM) ? Trolling ? Spamming NOTE: Apart from the guideline concerning one-line posts, all rules apply in full to both the message board and the chat room. In addition, it is your responsibility to familiarize yourself with the rules and guidelines, ignorance does not grant immunity from them. I feel that these rules are reasonable and believe that everyone here is capable of abiding by them. Whether you choose to abide by them is your decision, but you are expected to accept the consequences of your actions. Please keep in mind, this system applies to all members of the message board; there will be no special treatment because of post count or tenure. Lastly, despite the fact that not everyone here is an adult, I do expect everyone to act like one. Keeping Brewerfan.net a civil and courteous community is a top priority; and while some may not like the rules that have been put in place, everyone is still expected to play by them. I've attached the 'Keep Brewerfan Beautiful' post and the Message Board FAQ to serve as a reminder of the guidelines. Please post responsibly.

  3. I don't think I could possibly hate MLB.com any more than I do right now. The amount of Flash on your site is not directly proportional to functionality!
  4. Give it a rest people! God forbid that people actually be able to have an opinion on an internet message board. Just a reminder, you're not the one policing this site.
  5. Crap, he must have slipped that in. Anyways, he's actually gone now. To get back on topic, ColbyJack has done an awesmone job.
  6. gordofieldo = bradyo = troll = banned Apparently the 7th tool of posting is banishment. Au revoir.
  7. Personally, I'm more of a fan of Desktop Tower Defense. Never really played Flash Element TD, but I'm skeptical if the same strategies would carry over.
  8. Whats this magic number stuff? Wikipedia: Magic Number
  9. Check your inbox, BraunsBoyfriend. I don't currently have any major issues with this thread, but it's definitely at risk of entering dangerous territory. But, if everyone is gonna throw in the towel on this discussion, let's just say that I'm not gonna complain one bit.
  10. I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter how much of a lead we had.
  11. Already covered in the Major League forum here.
  12. Drop it. I'm ending this right now. Get back on topic, because any ensuing posts referring to the smoking debate are getting deleted.
  13. Here's a handy rule to go by: if it's NSFW, then it's likely NSFBF.net We like to maintain a family friendly environment here, and thus we try to avoid things containing prodigious cursing such as this. So, let this be a heads up to you, and if you haven't already, make yourself familiar with the Message Board FAQ.
  14. Pyckee, considering it's your first post, I'll give you a warning. In the meantime, read the Message Board FAQ and try to show a little civility towards fellow posters.
  15. It was already mentioned in the Cubs/Pinella/Meltdown thread, but I'll leave this one open for now.
  16. Welcome. We're glad to have you aboard.
  17. I was crushed when the Pumpkins broke up, but it's just not the same without Iha. But, I suppose I'll reserve judgement until I hear them.
  18. According to Wikipedia:
  19. The fact that it first deflected off the pitcher makes me want to say that the fielder no longer has priority over the runner. Nothing to back that up, just a gut feeling.
  20. I call obstruction on the pitcher, and the runner is safe.
  21. How does someone get upgraded from member? It used to be based on post count, but it's been disabled.
  22. I find it funny you like to make yourself seem well versed with these fancy baseball references. Try to avoid being condenscending to other posters.
  23. Here ya go: Message Board FAQ It's located in the Issues & Events Forum at the top.
