  1. Perfect time to find the sick changeups. Can I request an order of Badger Mutual Insurance Runs?
  2. RHP Hunter Strickland placed on the injured list (COVID-19). LHP Blaine Hardy selected from Triple-A Nashville. Player 362 for the Brewers this year. 34 year-old veteran. Career numbers are solid, AAA this year aren't bad.
  3. Any idea why Strickland was not placed on the IL and is noted as "not available" on the telecast? Perhaps a testing issue, if he were to test negative in the next day or two he's good to go? Confusing.
  4. Wow. Heck of a play by Escobar. Running on JBJ is silly. Just when you thought they got lucky and he missed on the throw...
  5. I like this. More trading from strength - I liked Henry's progression this year, but Feliciano is still the catching prospect coming up first and the lower minors have a bunch of talent there. Awesome arm and four more years of team control!
  6. All I can think of right now is the Arrested Development meme "We're having a FIRE!....sale" and how it applies to the Cubbies. I almost regret that we won't get to play against him as much. Seems he never does anything against the Brewers.
  7. Not convinced this is an upgrade over Gustave for last man in the pen. Feels like one of those times Stearns makes a trade for the sake of it. Not that he would be the first to be blessed by Chris Hook upon arriving and end up being pretty good.
  8. RHBs hitting .333 with 25 hits in 19 innings. That's not an upgrade over Gustave for last man in the pen.
  9. +1. I personally would have traded these two separately. Moreover, no rush to trade Turner now. Could've made that move in the offseason. Nonethelss, Dodgers lose Cy Young Bauer, acquire Scherzer. Very discouraging. Especially discouraging knowing if the Brewers signed a Bauer, a guy with character issues (even to a one year deal), we'd actually have been punished for it. The Dodgers just go get another ace from their endless pool of prospects, which they can also deal at will since they can buy any proven player they want. Also interested in what makes this move so good for the Nats. The Padres offer for just Scherzer plus trading Turner separately seems like it could have netted more. Though I'll again call this a buyer's market since I haven't been floored at the price of any trades.
  10. Easy 1-2-3. Gustave shows them what they gave up in exchange for a $50 gift certificate to the team store.
  11. I feel bad touching up a position player. Eduardo is waiting for you in Atlanta, boys.
  12. The expected top two offensive contributors have been pretty bad and worst-hitter-in-baseball bad, the top signing is OPSing about 200 points below expectations. Stearns needs some credit for the in-season pivots. Looks to have acquired two good bats and has a third coming, at a cost that no one can complain about.
  13. Tellez is an impressive first baseman. Difference is noticeable with the long reach, really good mechanics vs. the guys who were playing there out of position. Seems it's prevented a couple of baserunners this series.
  14. I assumed Urias was booking it as soon as the throw went the other way to make Wong's buying time move worth it. On the replay, Urias barely made the move to head home until half a second before Wong was tagged. Uh...ok.
  15. I so hate the Dodgers. Hope the Padres (or anyone else) can throw a wrench in that. Though the Nats must be tickled with the Dodgers-Padres bidding war. That dead last and not even close farm system of theirs is about to improve.
  16. Gamel was here for two years and somehow still thought it was a good idea to run on Pineapple.
  17. Riley Adams, a 25-year-old catcher who is the Jays' #17 prospect according to MLB Pipeline, is the return. Reading his scouting report sounds kinda like Payton Henry. First comparison point I thought of as well. I'm not sure I would have wanted to lose Henry to get a rental on Hand if a similar offer was being discussed. That said, I'm not blown away by any of these trades from the buy side so far.
  18. Guessing tomorrow is a scheduled off day at least. Can't see Counsell playing him three straight right off the IL.
