Wouldn't doubt if LeBlanc has an opt out around June 15. We (and most teams) pick up a couple of these every year in hopes of landing the next Wade Miley. -
Well... both sitting while Pablo Reyes starts in left.
-
We try again tomorrow.
-
Can we get the fluke cycle before he's sent down for good?
-
Don't see how that gets overturned. How do you get picked off by a closer?
-
Despite Rock finding two dozen ways in the first two innings to say "Velasquez sucks", our offense has shown to be even worse.
-
Unfortunately, it was as the injury appeared to be. TJ surgery for Dustin May. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/31384837/los-angeles-dodgers-dustin-undergo-tommy-john-surgery

Makes sense given what we saw from the bottom of their bullpen in the series. Dodgers also signed Aaron Wilkerson to a minor-league deal a couple days ago. They're competing with the Marlins for former Brewers!

If Sara Goodrum can fix Hiura back to 2019 form once he hits the minors, then they need to offer her Haines' job.

Bettinger to make ML debut
folly412 replied to Ron Robinsons Beard's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
you didn't predict the corresponding roster move, but assuming that it's optioning bettinger, he would have to remain on optional assignment for 10 days . . . and there would be no other pitcher on the 40-man eligible for recall. the brewers still have seven more games to play before a day off . . . so someone needs to take burnes' spot again friday. if not bettinger, who? Zimmermann, Weigel, or a bullpen day (Suter, Rasmussen et. al.) Gonna be a bunch of moves this week with Cain and Yelich coming off the IL. Lindblom could also come off the Phantom IL as soon as Tuesday. Not an exciting option, though perhaps he found something in the bullpen sessions to make him borderline passable. -
Rock's rationale for wasting time with the review summarized as "guy needs to inflate his stats". Really?
-
If we need bad innings eaters, Lindblom is eligible to come off the IL from his fake injury on Tuesday.
-
A bright spot! Welcome back!
-
I'm guessing Reyes can pitch as well? He's going to get to.
-
They said Counsell was going to have him go 80-90 pitches. Barring some miracle output from the offense that makes the game competitive, might as well just let that happen.
-
Officially on the Bettinger-Zimmerman-position player to rest and heal plan.
-
Nottingham can play 1B. It's a sorry state, but that's the norm for our 1B situation.
-
If I had to order the nine for today, I think I'd go: 1. Kolten Wong 2B 2. Luis Urias SS 3. Tyrone Taylor LF 4. Avisail Garcia RF 5. Jackie Bradley CF 6. Jacob Nottingham C 7. Keston Hiura 1B 8. Pablo Reyes 3B 9. Alec Bettinger P

So what's the plan is with Pina possibly back within a week? Guessing Nottingham is above Maile on the depth chart (and Maile can be optioned). Then once Narvaez is back, they either try again to sneak Nottingham through waivers or use him as a 1B option if Hiura is in AAA.

1. Kolten Wong 2B 2. Tyrone Taylor LF 3. Avisail Garcia RF 4. Keston Hiura 1B 5. Luis Urias SS 6. Jackie Bradley CF 7. Pablo Reyes 3B 8. Jacob Nottingham C 9. Alec Bettinger P Hiura in the cleanup spot...

[sarcasm]Now they're just finding ways to inflate the IL numbers.[/sarcasm]

In exchange for $3.50 works. Let's gooooo!
-
I'm not going to complain if Counsell wants to milk Bettinger, Zimmerman, and cap it off with a position player to be as rested and healthy heading on the road trip. It seems like he is open to being more aggressive if the offense shows up, given how much of the bullpen was positioned to be available today.
-
Now I'm excited!

I'm too drained to be excited that the game will continue.
