  1. He will for the next two days to go do national games yet again. I like LePay best, but I think we get Coshun this time.
  2. Smith as well. Then there's three guys on the 40-man who should probably just be DFA'd off. I still think part of the Guerra move was expecting to DFA him out of the organization soon and get to moving up arms from the loaded Biloxi bullpen. That's already bit them.
  3. We should totally acquire Neverauskas. He can be our new hitting coach. No one else was capable of making our three dumpster players all get a hit in the same inning, and two of them homers.
  4. Grisham with a leadoff homer tonight. But we'd good with Saladino starting in left and Braun on the active roster in case he's needed once this weekend for a pinch hit strikeout.
  5. Feels like the case every other game. Can we dump Haines yet? Maybe look elsewhere than the assistant hitting coach of the most underachieving offense in the league next time.
  6. Are these guys expecting a fastball in the zone on 0-2 that they're swinging at change-ups that are out of the zone?
  7. Braun and Cain day off is better than Grandal and Yelich day off with Arcia benching. Wonder how much longer the leash is on Saladino if he continues to look terrible at the plate.
  8. Good numbers. But only way I can see him over Jackson or just re-calling Hart and saving the 40-man spot is if he's not expected to be around long...easy DFA if they trade for a bullpen arm. Also lets them move up an arm from the loaded Biloxi bullpen. Also got to wonder how long Williams is going to be on the 40 man if he can be dominant in AAA and they make a move like this over giving him another shot.
  9. Hopefully the pulled grounder that found a hole isn't going to give Saladino more leeway. Don't get why it's 50/50 or worse for Arcia. Saladino, Aguilar, and Pina are all worse than bad.
  10. I love a pitchers duel. Chacin vs. Gray with Estabrook calling everything a strike is not it.
  11. Glad he is still with the Crew. I'm good with hitting the undo button if Saladino goes 0-fer with terrible ABs again tonight.
  12. Yelich, Grandal getting the day off. Saladino over Arcia again. Bottom third looks brutal.
  13. Other than Devin Williams and maybe Perdomo, don't think there's really any worth adding to the 40-man at risk of losing here. I'd try to re-sign several, and someone like Jay Jackson would certainly get a spring training invite if he doesn't get another look this year. Nate Griep's having an even better year at Biloxi and they aren't in any hurry to promote him with guys like Barnes, Taylor Williams and Jackson for the most part doing the job at SA, after failing miserably in Milwaukee this year. The Biloxi pen is just loaded. I'd be up for cycling out some of the AAAA arms in San Antonio and getting the next men up.
  14. Just reminding everyone that we have a first baseman with a .384 OBP and .923 OPS, both second best on the team. It's Thamos!
  15. Freitas Grisham Dubon Freitas intrigues me. The numbers are so ridiculous over 200 ABs that it's difficult to see him being a sub-.600 OPS player like his (smaller) MLB career to date. The bonus there is he's able to be a replacement for Aguilar and Pina, giving a bonus roster spot for someone else.
  16. Interesting. I am glad he noticed that the defense hasn't been near his reputation this year (and the stats confirm). Just don't see how the defense or offense there were that high on the list of priorities to warrant making a change.
  17. The newspaper that provided several online Mudcat features last season seems to have dried up in that regard in 2019. Too bad... I’m not saying he’s a star or anything, but it’s fun to see the Brewers letting him dabble with hitting. Some teams wanted to draft him as an OF. I’ve found no quotes on his official role or any plans Played CF and led off tonight. Three hits, 2 RBIs. Looks really good at the plate and in the field. Certainly a good move to get him hitting and playing the field since being 5'6" (generously) would probably be even less prohibitive there than pitching.
  18. Another excellent outing and looked great again. It's past time to promote him to AA.
