  1. On the bright side, we didn't score in the 1st and never score again and lose in the 18th like the Twins last night. On the not so bright side, our lineup should be made to suffer for another three hours.
  2. Unfortunate. Double unfortunate that they're quickly recalling Burnes already. He should be starting in AAA and getting things right, not in the role of random, irregular bullpen appearances.
  3. Saladino's more versatile and has experience not playing every day. I'm interested in Dubon as well, but there's no good spot for him. Worth a September call-up for sure. Get him some reps at 3B in spring training and he should be on the opening day roster next year.
  4. That's one of the really fun plays in baseball. Though I don't think any will beat Prince Fielders two inside the park homers.
  5. For me it was just a numbers game going with all three as our 2-4 starters to open the season. I had confidence in each individual one, but the probability that all three were going to be successful was very low, especially over an entire season. Not enough depth when the only veteran option was Anderson, coming off being shut down last year then not able to earn a spot this year.
  6. Your post intrigued me to check his twitter. As you can most certainly imagine, Kato is not enjoying tonight's game. I checked too. He's having a full on meltdown. At least he still has passion. This team's performance has sucked the life out of me.
  7. So no roster changes at all while Perez starts another game at second, Cain is still out and still sore, and AAAAron Wilkerson is not only still on the roster but unavailable tonight?
  8. AAAAron Wilkerson will be all set for a 20 inning scoreless streak for the Missions after this one.
  9. Schlesinger on the ASG: "I expect a few more Brewers on the pitching side to make it"
  10. That play in the first was a good example. Looked like he never played the outfield before. We should have loaded the lineup with lefties and had them pull away.
  11. You're still on an island on that one, chief.
  12. Restaurants are also a bonus rewards category on like every credit card out there. I occasionally juggle based on category, but for restaurants they're pretty much all getting it, to the point where making up the 3% isn't even difficult to match or exceed. Only real deterrent I've seen are utilities companies, where they charge a hard fee of like $4.95 to pay online with credit and there's no bonus incentive so doing the bank draw is the best. Which still beats cash - pretty sure the same $21 has been in my wallet for over five years now.
  13. This was verbatim my first thought when I saw the Santana/Gamel thread resuscitated. Anything short of Rob Manfred announcing at the All Star break that the National League is adding the DH for the second half of the 2019 season, will keep me from bemoaning the trade. From a roster construction standpoint the trade was fine. It certainly isn’t worth freaking out over. Not sure I understand how that was bad either. Santana is leading the league in SOs, has cost 11 runs defensively, and fourth outfielder was the only place for him on our roster. Gamel is a great fit as the fourth outfielder, can platoon with Braun, has been a plus defender and plays all outfield positions. I've also seen enough of Zavolas to believe he's going to be an MLB starter.
  14. I'm sure our big roster move tomorrow will be to option Wilkerson and recall Smith. Clearly getting the 25th man correct is the only thing wrong.
  15. That is one weird lineup. Glad Burnes is down. Being the last man in the pen with irregular appearances isn't going to do anything for him.
