  1. Our pitching hope rests on throwing up to four guys into the postseason when they would be in Appleton or Nashville on rehab assignment if it were the regular season.
  2. They'll probably break out the slip n slide again and someone will get a gruesome knee injury.
  3. Miz can't even pitch an inning. It's been unbearable to watch for two months now, save a single good outing. Going to be a "put us out of our misery" NLDS. Hopefully it's the Padres that do it.
  4. I like the chances of eliminating the Cubs or Padres in the postseason better if we're game enough to eliminate the Reds in the regular season.
  5. Magic number 1 for the President's Cup...oh wait, that's hockey.
  6. Collins is slumping, but they need to get him going again. Unless he's dealing with an injury, he's sitting too much.
  7. The lack of run production recently is the biggest to me. In the postseason against every teams' best pitching, I've little confidence right now. A close second is the pitching depth. If it were the middle of the season, Megill, Hall, Henderson, and Quintana would all be on rehab assignment in Nashville (at best), and instead they'll be pitching in the postseason if healthy enough to even make the roster.
  8. Would Henderson have gotten an inning this weekend if he wasn't on the 60 day IL? Seemed hasty to move him there when it happened.
  9. Not liking that our playoff hopes rely on the offense getting out of a terrible drought and four guys who might be thrown into the playoffs when they would be on minor league rehab assignment if it were the regular season. On the bright side we're not the Tigers or Astros, who might be fighting for the last wild card spot in the AL if the Tigers can't reclaim the 15.5 game division lead they lost.
  10. The next phase of the Pitching Lab™ should be to figure out how to not get all of our pitchers hurt so we don't have to start the year with one starting pitcher and end it with Eric Fedde and Bruce Zimmerman on the team.
  11. Nice to avoid that awful wild card round. Dodgers can deal with a hot Cincinnati team in a best of three instead of us.
  12. Dbacks light up Suarez out to a 6-0 lead.
  13. With retro dating to return just in time for the postseason. Sensible.
  14. Entire Magic Numbery: Cubs 1, Blue Jays 1, Phillies 4.
  15. That Mona play was just awesome. His instincts from playing the other positions more are what led to a play a normal first baseman wouldn't make.
  16. I feel like we've had a chance to lead 5-2 but that we also should be trailing 7-2.
  17. Bearcat Mutual Insurance Runs Let's score some of our own!
