  1. Just here: https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/35165812/mariners-acquire-2b-kolten-wong-brewers
  2. Ok trade. The money used to pick up the Wong option and turn it into Winker to acquire a DH is better than bringing in another McCutchen type overpriced free agent. Toro is depth with low risk. Door now officially opened for Turang. Still, not a big, necessary move, so interesting that they're noting the possibility that Winker could be flipped.
  3. So far the Arnold strategy seems to be stockpiling relievers with ERAs in the 6s rather than the 3s.
  4. Both of these are true. They shortened the time between innings, then injected the telecast with "and now a quick word from Potawatomi...", "and now a quick word from Chevy..." Pick your poison.
  5. Two things can be true: Post-game press conferences are places for run of the mill sound bytes. They are rarely, if ever going to be a place to find answers to difficult questions or "challenges" to the manager. Milwaukee media have never been ones to press the manager, and most questions are particularly non-confrontational and un-insightful. I cringe each of the many times they have asked the "question", "Craig, how about [insert player who had a good game]?"
  6. If the goal is to get "bites of the apple"... Chipped a tooth trying to take a bite this year Better to start getting struggles like Mitchell's out of the way now than next April if there is intent to contend. That means thanking Narvaez, McCutchen, and Wong for their service, shutting them down and getting Feliciano, Turang, plus Frelick and/or Weimer into the lineup.
  7. Nice that things are working out for Nashville after the forced reunification with the Brewers. They've been given the winning team they really never got the first go round. Though I'm sure the huge growth of that metro area hasn't hurt.
  8. The whole goal #1 for him to start 30 or 32 games or whatever was silly. Would be best to skip a start, or given where the standings sit, possibly shut him down.
  9. Why does this pitcher squat like he's dropping a turd before every pitch?
  10. I kind of get the limit, but I miss the 37 man active roster and seeing a bunch of new players in September. Though less so combined with not having the three batter minimum and teams using 5 pitchers in two innings.
  11. I haven't even been able to re-watch any Game of Thrones since the last season was so bad it gave me no desire to see any of it. Heard good things about House of the Dragon and decided to give it a try. It's very good. Not sure how much momentum it can keep and not feel like rehashing the same stuff over and over again, but so far it's enjoyable. Daemon and the Sea Snake were awesome characters in the book, and they're also the two best in the show so far.
  12. At least we got to 100 million fans. Please, if you have friends or co-workers from Seattle, let them know how much you appreciate their grandfather for helping us get to this important milestone.
  13. Any decent catcher free agents-to-be? A Grandal-type contract would be ideal as they evaluate whether Feliciano can become a primary catcher.
  14. Nice outing for Alexander. Correct to pull him.
  15. Don't have without Brewers in the total, but AVG is .184 so you can imagine the rest. vs. Mil .262/.326/.738 vs. MLB .200/.253/.410
  16. Houser was rushed back when he should still be on rehab assignment and hasn't been good all year. Small threw so many pitches in his last start for Nashville he was pulled in the second inning. A disappointment. Therefore, Alexander is the best / possibly only option left.
  17. Ruiz has a 17 game hitting streak, and Gasser just pitched himself up to AAA. Not a bad infusion of talent.
  18. Ruiz has a 17 game hitting streak, and Gasser just pitched himself up to AAA. Not a bad infusion of talent.
  19. Think we'll get better than yesterday's case for Robots?
