  1. Nice easy swing. Also, my sister has certainly never been that happy for anything I've done.
  2. And Wiemer and Turang. Might as well toss in Feliciano. These kids might rival the 2000's bombers. Hopefully the pitching can be a little better.
  3. How to Manage by Ron Roenicke, with Forward by Craig Counsell Chapter 2: The Starting Pitcher The Manager's starting pitcher must not reach, but must also not exceed exactly 100 pitches. He may struggle, may look spent, but the Manager must stay the course! Exceptions shall only be made if the pitcher has not allowed a hit and the Manager "feels" the pitcher should be done. If "the feeling" strikes, the Manager must pull the pitcher immediately without delay!
  4. Chipped a tooth trying to take a bite out of that apple, eh?
  5. Rowdy pull a hammy running? Thought it was curious he didn't seem to even think about sliding there.
  6. Bring back Eddie. He'd have sent them both, and been half right instead of all wrong.
  7. Run all day, Garrett! Take third, maybe even home!
  8. "And then...then we sign him AGAIN the next year!" -Doug Melvin
  9. Disastrous couple of months for Hader. Entering the game down three runs and ends up with another 0.1 IP 6 ER outing, getting pulled for a position player. Painful that the Phantom IL might be the next stop for him. Gasser has been effective since being promoted to AA. Ruiz entering today with a 16 game hitting streak.
  10. The Ghost of Javy Baez must have blessed Hoerner, because that tag was perfect.
  11. 20% of the talent is up. Or at least the Stearns dam has broken. Here's to Counsell not letting him rot on the bench.
  12. Non-tender all the way. Gamel had better numbers and was non-tendered without his spot holding back four of the top five prospects and five of the top ten. With any luck, he won't also end up with the Pirates and hit .500 against us and .200 against everyone else.
  13. Another AAA Playoff ringer for Nashville. He has options! Nashville wouldn't even need to score 10 runs every game if they had pitching that didn't give up 8.
  14. Was able to watch Nashville light up Durham yet again tonight. Far more watchable than the Brewers offense. We're in for a treat, if they ever let them come up. Wiemer hit two absolute moon shots, and he's supposedly the least ready. Frelick wasn't in the lineup, and he's supposedly the most ready. I'd take growing pains at the MLB level to see some talent develop. I think they could muster two runs.
  15. An ok 4th or 5th outfielder is fine if there weren't four outfielders (five counting Turang) in AAA with far more upside and little downside risk of being worse, given they all have speed and decent to better than decent defense. I'd DFA Taylor and Davis and get two of them up.
  16. With all of them in the lineup tonight, I'd be surprised if any were called up tomorrow. Don't worry, Taylor is about due for his once a fortnight home run.
  17. We're really missing Brosseau this series. Two appearances our best position player pitcher would have covered with ease.
  18. KBO MVP. Hit the jackpot with Thames, then made the mistake of rolling the dice again.
  19. On the flip side, it would be sweet to get to make over $3M this year while pitching once a week in AAA. Like, the team's probably staying in cheap apartments and at Super 8 on the road, and he's got a nice house in Nashville and can just go pay for his own hotel room at the nicest hotel in town.
  20. Imagine someone telling you two months ago that Suter would be the best left-hander in the bullpen (and that Small wouldn't be in the rotation either).
  21. I'll gladly try Ruiz and his 13 game hitting streak in that case. Maybe they should send him down to give Nashville a ringer for its AAA Championship run.
  22. Or Mitchell or Weimer. We literally have four outfielders crushing it in AAA. They lit up Durham again tonight. Just pick two. Past time to DFA Taylor and his .274 OBP along with Davis.
