  1. Seigler! He has an appearance at catcher this season too. A man of many talents.
  2. Would be better if they just let this inning end ASAP so Ashby could finish it out. Only at 9 pitches but a long wait between innings is not great.
  3. I'm not sure Murphy is a tactical genius or anything, but I think it's proof positive that Craig was a double agent all along that as soon as he left we get a manager who is going to win back-to-back NL Manager of the Year awards. Thank you Craig!! 😂
  4. And among the league leaders in WHIP. Across his Brewers tenure (2019-2024), Williams was the 12th best pitcher in baseball at keeping runners off the bases.
  5. Not really. High K% power relievers who walk a lot of guys (but are almost unhittable) will generally be at the top of those lists. It's just the style of pitching, not a metric for effectiveness. Pitch efficiency is almost meaningless for guys who only pitch 1.0 IP at a time.
  6. It's not totally egregious because we are a balanced team rather than one built around a superstar, but not including Contreras is pretty egregious. He's in the top 10 for positional player fWAR over the last three seasons, and even in this "down" year he's going to be a 4 WAR player by the end of it.
  7. Skenes is a bum. I'm predicting 5 ER off him today and he gets pulled in the third.
  8. Did you miss the hundreds of innings he pitched for us with a sparkling ERA and some of the best high-leverage stats in the game???
  9. I'd easily give Devin something like 1/$10M next season. The fundamentals are still solid, he's just having one of those fluke years that almost all relievers (save inhuman ones like Mariano Rivera) sometimes have. Very similar stats to Josh Hader in 2022, and he came back the next year with a 1.28 ERA over 56.1 IP. A great value proposition if he's willing to take less to get his grove back in an organization he knows. Or maybe those bridges were burnt with the surprise trade.
  10. I don't see Woodruff taking such a massive cut in free agency. It would be different if he was rehabbing the injury into this offseason, but he's back now and showing that he's healthy. He should fire his agent if he gets less than $150 million.
  11. Anderson still has an option so I imagine he gets sent down for Zastryzny, in part just to give Anderson some rest.
  12. A bit unwieldy but I think this link should work for a live look: https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders/splits-leaderboards?splitArr=&splitArrPitch=&autoPt=false&splitTeams=false&statType=player&statgroup=2&startDate=2025-08-01&endDate=2025-11-01&players=25477,25493,19455,26197,14162,18839,19921,17128,19913,16512,29646,15518,14854,15223,17338,23802,12552,21496,15878,18795,22823,18577,23401,24610,17929,16153,16535,16442,10243,15112&filter=&groupBy=season&wxTemperature=&wxPressure=&wxAirDensity=&wxElevation=&wxWindSpeed=&position=B&sort=15,1
  13. No need to panic yet. He's already past his career high in IP so they are likely going to be overcautious with any fatigue at all his might be feeling in his arm. The fact they made it retroactive to Monday seems like a positive sign?
  14. Senga has been falling apart a bit since returning from the IL. 6.19 ERA and 6.99 FIP in four starts since July 11. Let's score some runs!
  15. The PCA hype was way too high for a while there. He's still a fantastic player because of his defense, but it's hard to consistently play like an MVP with his terrible approach at the plate. See also: Javier Baez.
  16. Whoa Solvdd: Vaughn has 11.0 career innings at 2B.
  17. 48 games left, so we would still need to have a .625 W-L% the rest of the way. That's a tall order but certainly doable if they stay hot. For context, a team maintaining the necessary win percentage over an entire season is impressive but not historic. Most recently the 2023 season had two teams play at about that level or better for the whole 162 game season (Baltimore, .623, and Atlanta, .642)
  18. Is Lauer really PTSD worthy? Had two great seasons for us (3.19 ERA and 3.69 ERA), a bad half season in 2023, went to Korea, and is back in Toronto having a fantastic season (2.59 ERA in 80.0 IP). Lauer has been significantly better than even Priester this season.
  19. In between encouraging Freddy Peralta to work harder to remain in the rotation with a 3.03 ERA and an MLB-leading 13 Wins 😂
  20. Taking the temperature of the forum, I think it's really weird that some are down on Freddy but think Priester should get NL MVP votes 😂 A little too inefficient sometimes but he's been better by every single metric! After tonight he's on track to lead MLB in Wins with a 3.03 ERA
  21. A little too much recency bias there... Peralta still has a 3.08 ERA on the season and despite a couple bad starts a 3.58 ERA/3.48 FIP since July 1.
