I can't imagine Candelario would have signaled so quickly if it hadn't hit him. St. Louis was different because Carpenter didn't even react.

I don't see why we need Broxton (as much as I like him) given that Cain should be playing every inning. Leaving Thames off the roster would be a mistake in my opinion, he was brutal in August but he still has the ability to crush RHP like almost nobody else on the roster. Perez has been horrible all September.

Thames has a .365 wOBA for September, I think he gets too much grief around here. Tough decisions for the playoff roster though, Domingo and Granderson have both been great. Hernan Perez has been quietly miserable but is his spot at risk?

I'm feeling pretty relaxed about this final series. Confident that we can take the Wild Card so there's no desperation to catch the Cubs for me. I think CC should prioritize making sure the bullpen is ready to fire on all cylinders on Monday rather than going all out to sweep Detroit when the Cubs destiny is out of our control anyways.

Two thirds of the Pirates hitting into outs on the first pitch. Pathetic. Unbelievable that they let Lester get 6.0 IP.

Hard to imagine we're going to pick up more than +1.0 on the Cubs this weekend. We could be headed for a tie breaker, in which case today's off day could be huge for the bullpen.

No one guy, but the bullpen is simply incredible and inspires a lot more confidence than Salomon Torres.

Hard for me to. The Cardinals have benefitted from crap like that for years. Well I certainly don't feel bad for the Cardinals, just specifically that kid who is presumably only on the roster to run the bases and may have just cost his team the game or the season by publicly embarrassing himself.
