  1. Congratulations to Chris McIntosh and Luke Fickell. First time since 1978 that a Badger has not been drafted. At least we have one of them out of town.
  2. Can't say I'm a bit impressed. Depth issues all over and they end up with 5 players and a kicker after going into the draft with 8 picks.
  3. Clark played in 16 games and started 2 as a rookie. He started 15 games in his second season. If Cisse does not see significant playing time in year one, and if he's not starting in year two, then he is a bad pick (considering he would have to beat out the likes of Valentine and St-Juste to get one of those two starting corner spots).
  4. Final day predictions. Since Gutekunst took a CB first, I'm guessing he will be happy with Nixon, Valentine, Cisse, St-Juste and not take a second cornerback. 4-120 = Adam Randall/RB/Clemson 5-153 = Drew Shelton/OT/Penn State (basically saw this as 50/50, Shelton or Oregon OT-Alex Harkey) 6-201 = Michael Heldman/EDGE/Central Michigan 7-236 = Jalen Walthall/WR/Incarnate Ward 7-255 = Matthew Hibner/TE/SMU
  5. I don't like the trade up for McClellan. Domonique Orange, Chris Brazzell II, Ted Hurst, Daylen Everette, Emmanuel Pregnon, Gennings Dunker, Caleb Tiernan, Dani Dennis-Sutton all still on the board. I don't have a problem with McClellan, but IMO there were just so many solid candidates left on the board that I would have been more than happy to settle for one of those guys considering the depth issues the Packers have at so many positions. It's just like giving one of the two picks the Packers got for Wicks away (and yes, I realize the pick they traded away was their own 5th rounder, not the one acquired for Wicks...but the picks are only 7 selections apart). Packers original pick was #82. The Browns ended up trading up to #86 and gave up #105, #145 and #206 to get there. I'm assuming, and probably a safe assumption, that the Browns would have made this deal with the Packers, and the Browns aggressive movement in last year's draft (once had 12 picks, ended up with 7) make them the ideal target to be on the phone for a potential trade down. I'd gladly give up McClellan and take #105, #145, #206 and hold onto #160. Right now we are 5 picks away from #105, and RB-Mike Washington Jr., WR-Skyler Bell, WR-Bryce Lance, OT-Jude Bowry, OG-Jalen Farmer, OL-Brian Parker II, EDGE-Dani Dennis-Sutton, CB-Will Lee III are still on the board. I would have been happy with any of those players at #105, and would have been happy trading down #22 spots and still having a few of these candidates available. Yes, even Will Lee III after taking Cisse, eliminate the "numbers" issue at CB right away and still have EIGHT picks left to continue to address depth.
  6. For those Packer/Badger fans that always with the Packers would take more Badgers.... If the Packers do not land Romello Height or Dani Dennis-Sutton in round three (I'm assuming both of those guys go somewhere before pick #101), I think Mason Reiger becomes a very strong possibility on day three.
  7. Cisse it is. That was kind of a no-brainer IMO. Surprised he made it to #52. As a Packer fan, hard to have any problems with this pick.
  8. Good move by Gutekunst not trading up. It looks like both Jacus and Cisse makes it to #52. I'd take Cisse over Jacus. With all Gutekunst's talk about adding numbers to CB, Cisse seems like he would be a good candidate.
  9. There are reports that Jayden Reed just signed a 3-year, 50.25 million dollar extension.
  10. I'll go with this for my prediction. Crazy to think that Wicks was dealt, obviously opening up a spot to draft a WR...I think Chris Brazzell is a definite possibility at #52...and yet I don't have the Packers taking a WR at all due to the way the board fell. I certainly think someone like Jeff Caldwell or J Michael Sturdivant is possible with later picks, but just felt there would be other players Gutekunst would like more when the selection was due. So no WR is screw up #1 in the prediction. But oh well, when you start projecting trades you know it's going to be all messed up from the get go. TRADE - Packers get 2nd (#42), Saints get 2nd (#52), 4th (#120) and 2027 5th round pick 2-42 - Gabe Jacus/EDGE/Illinois TRADE - Browns get 3rd (#84), Packers get 4th (#107), 5th (#148) and 7th (#206) 4-107 - Will Lee III/CB/Texas A&M 5-148 - Drew Shelton/LT/Penn State 5-153 - Charles Demmings/CB/Stephen F Austin 5-160 - Jordan van den Berg/DL/Georgia Tech 6-201 - Jager Burton/IOL/Kentucky 6-206 - Dallen Bentley/TE/Utah 7-236 - Kaelon Black/RB/Indiana 7-255 - Jacob Thomas/S/James Madison
  11. I wouldn't have touched Banks where the Vikings took him. IMO, if health was not a concern, that is about where his max grade should be. I think he's had 2 different foot surgeries in the last 8 months. Big guys with foot problems scare me. Obviously their doctor's feel OK about him, but no way I take this risk that high. I also thought the Lions pick was interesting. Obviously they needed a left tackle. I thought trading up for Freeling or Proctor was a very real possibility, and if not, they could just take Lomu which may be a tad bit high but not unreasonable. Instead they take Blake Miller, and that is with Freeling still on the board. Miller is a right tackle. Sounds like Sewell is moving to left tackle. Seems a bit questionable to me. I think the Lions tried that before and Sewell ended up at right tackle because he is much better there. The Bears good fortune continues with Thieneman dropping to their spot. They may have needed DL more, but S was a pretty significant need area for them as well, and Thieneman looked better than any of the remaining EDGE/DL available. He'll probably end up being a real good player for them.
  12. Did a quick mock through #51. I had what I'll call the last two 2nd round projected EDGE players going at #42 (R Mason Thomas to the Saints) and #43 (Gabe Jacus to the Dolphins). If Gutekunst does not think Dennis-Sutton is proper value at #52, and is dead set on getting an EDGE with the first pick, I'm guessing he targets that Saints pick at #42 for a trade up. I had Christian Miller going at #45 to the Ravens. South Carolina CB-Brandon Cisse was picked by the Lions at #50. That is very close. If Gutekunst sits at #52, and Cisse makes it to that spot, IMO he is a no-brainer pick at that spot. The board has the best 20 remaining being, by position- WR - Antonio Williams, Chris Brazzell II, Zachariah Branch, Malachi Fields TE - Eli Stowers, Max Klare OL - Gennings Dunker, Caleb Tiernan EDGE - Derrick Moore, Keyron Crawford DL - Lee Hunter LB - Jacob Rodriguez, Jake Golday, Josiah Trotter, Kyle Louis CB - D'Angelo Ponds, Keionte Scott, Keith Abney II S - AJ Haulcy, Treyden Stukes RB-Mike Washington and EDGE-Dani Dennis-Sutton are just off the last, would be #21 and #22. My million dollar question, when Gutekunst brought Washington in for a visit, was he looking at him as a second rounder or a possible third round dropper? Complete guess, I don't think EDGE-Derrick Moore passes Gutekunst athleticism preferences. Auburn EDGE-Keyron Crawford may, I'm leaning towards a no, but he is a guy that should not be ignored with the way the board is falling. I still think Lee Hunter might be the best guy the Packers could take, maybe it could happen if Gannon loves him and is in Gutekunst's ear. But I think Gutekunst would shy away from taking a player that might only be on the field for 30-35% of the defensive snaps. My best guesses at this point are- If Gutekunst wants an EDGE, he trades up about 10 spots and picks Gabe Jacus. If he stays put, and CB-Brandon Cisse makes it to #52, then Gutekunst takes him. If he stays put, and Cisse is off the board, to me it looks like offensive skill position is probably the way he goes,,,either RB-Mike Washington Jr or WR-Chris Brazzell II. The "more predictable" option would be Dennis-Sutton, but his lack of progress up the board, stalling out in the #70-#75 area after incredible workouts, just leads me to believe that he's not really a round two player, and Gutekunst could very well see it the same way despite his love for those workout numbers.
  13. NFL.com screwed up. Titans get #31, #69 and #165. Bills get #35, #66 and #101. #66 and #101 were Titans draft picks near the top of rounds three and four, those picks are going to the Bills.
  14. https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/nfl/packers/dougherty/2026/04/23/here-are-nine-possibilities-for-the-packers-nfl-draft-pick-at-no-52/89719259007/ Currently not behind a paywall, no idea of that will change later. Dougherty thinks it's EDGE-Gabe Jacus at #52. He has Jacus, EDGE-Dani Dennis-Sutton/Penn State, CB-Brandon Cisse/South Carolina, DL-Christian Miller/Georgia, EDGE-Zion Young/Missouri, DL-Caleb Banks/Florida, EDGE-R Mason Thomas/Oklahoma, RB-Jadarian Price/Notre Dame and CB-Avieon Terrell/Clemson as his 9 candidates. Interestingly enough, WR-Chris Brazzell II/Tennessee and RB-Mike Washington Jr/Arkansas are both absent, and I think both of those are very strong candidates, I'm also kind of surprised he didn't list DB-Tayden Stukes/Arizona, but maybe he just sees a safety and the Packers are unlikely to take a safety at #52. He has 8 names and 9 are defensive players.

  16. What Gutekunst should do- Don't trade up. There are too many depth issues all over the field. They need to come out of this draft with a minimum of 8 players, and I personally would be shooting for 10. I brought up targeting the Dolphins 5th round pick for a 4th round pick next year, and I would still do that today. Take a minimum of two offensive lineman, and taking three is not out of the question. Too many questions involving the returning starters, and depth at with this group is pretty much non-existent when one gets past Kinnard. Take a minimum of two cornerbacks. If they are going to play a 2-gap 3-4 system, they need to prioritize a nose tackle who can stuff the run regardless of his pass-rush upside, AND they will need a big DE who can occupy two gaps which is something they are sorely lacking on this roster. They need to take a tight end. Modern day NFL rosters call for four. Don't go crazy at EDGE. You have Parsons (who it sounds like will be back by week 3), Van Ness, Sorrell, Cox and a decent enough developmental prospect in Oliver. That's five. Is this ideal? No. But don't screw up everything chasing after this position when there are other positions that look worse. Ignore QB. I don't see anything at #153 or past #153 that looks any better than Kyle McCord. What Gutekunst will do- He will trade two picks, one pick this year and one next year, to move up from #52 to take an EDGE. He will take only one offensive lineman, maybe in the fourth round but more likely in round five. He will take two cornerbacks. He's learned his lesson after botching CB last year. Rumors the last couple days is that Gannon is having significant input in the process. Gannon did have Dalvin Tomlinson on the roster last year, who is a run stuffing 335 pound player that isn't much of a pass-rush threat. Maybe there is some hope here. I think he'll take a tight end, and despite some ridiculous approach about drafting a QB every other year, he will pass on the QB position in this draft.
  17. Because this is their secret weapon that will take them to a Super Bowl championship. A practice squad/scout team player that can prepare the defense for a mobile quarterback.

  19. If he makes it to #52, he will very likely be the pick. But I don't think he makes it to #52.
  20. The writers from the Journal-Sentinel did a podcast yesterday, and Silverstein kept mentioning running back and Jadarian Price and Mike Washington. #52 is looking like a bad spot for the Packers. I have to admit that I wouldn't be shocked. If the Packers end up drafting a backup running back at #52 (Price), I can see half the fanbase going nuts, although my gut feeling is that Price is a bit smaller than Gutekunst would like. Washington is definitely in play.

  22. Unfortunately, Gutekunst feels the same way. Banks sucked and Belton was not exactly impressive last year. Combine that with Morgan's inexperience at LT (for Walker only being average/below-average as a LT....Morgan never threatened him for that job) and Tom coming back from a significant injury...the offensive line is the group that could sink this team. CB a close second.
  23. Discrepancies can be explained by the Jets and Browns. All of them. I should also point out that it's not "my board," but a consensus/composite board made up of top prospect lists from around the web. As an extra bonus this year, ESPN didn't publish Kiper's list behind a paywall, so I threw that in this morning. I'm still waiting for an updated list from Eric Edholm (NFL.com), when I get his added in I'll post the board in the off-season thread.
  24. Banks is #39 and Miller is #44 on my updated board. I don't think either of them make it to #52. Lee Hunter is right at #52, but even though he was a 30-Visit, I still don't think the Packers will pick him with as athlete-minded Gutekunst is. I would personally love to see them pick Hunter, Next Gen production rating was #1 among that DL's at this year's combine. Next Gen athleticism grade...second to last. Historically, Gutekunst has not picked guys like that. To me, he's be my #1 choice at #52 over Georgia Tech OG-Keylan Rutledge by the slightest of margins. Those two guys would be my favorites BY FAR with how the board currently sits. And as much as Gutekunst loves the workout guys, Dani Dennis-Sutton just has not climbed the board like I thought he would and currently sits #73. Will Gutekunst have him higher than that on the Packers board? Pretty likely. High enough to pick at #52? I'm now a bit doubtful about that. Romello Height has been slipping bit by bit, and is now sitting at #90 on the board, a few spots after the Packers third round pick (#84). I think Gutekunst would like to take an EDGE guy at #52, but if Malachi Lawrence, Gabe Jacas and R Mason Thomas are all off the board, I don't think he can. Looking at the board, Tennessee WR-Chris Brazzell II seems more and more likely at #52. You want to track 30-Visit guys...WR Chris Brazzell II at #52, EDGE Romello Height at #84 and CB Will Lee III at #120 all fit pretty well in those spots. Man, I can see a lot of Packer fans losing it if Gutekunst takes another WR in round 2 after taking WRs in round 1 and 3 last year. Personally, I'm more worried that he's going to largely ignore the offensive line, which to me is crazy because that is the group that looks like it has the most potential to crap-out and end up sinking this team's chances. Also going to throw this out there. Even with 8 draft picks, the overall depth on this team will not be looking good. By my count, they are up to 9 day three picks in 2027 (3 of their own (traded one for Kinnard), 4 comp picks, 2 picks for Gary/Wicks). IMO, they could give something up and move one of those picks into the upcoming draft. The Dolphins currently have 11 picks, seven of those in the first three rounds. I would be on the phone already offering the Dolphins next years 4th round pick for the 11th pick in the fifth round (#151 overall). Packers fourth round pick this year is at #120, will go up or down depending on how the team does. But for now, count on it being about a 30 spot drop to have the pick a year earlier. On the board currently....#151 = Demonte Capehart/DL/Clemson, #152 = Adam Randall/RB/Clemson, #154 = Drew Shelton/OT/Penn State, #155 = Mason Reiger/EDGE/Wisconsin, #161 = Caden Curry/EDGE/Ohio State, #169 = Diego Pounds/OT/Mississippi, #170 = Dontay Corleone/DL/Cincinnati, #175 = Charles Demmings/CB/Stephen F. Austin. Looks like above-average fifth round talent to my eyes, I'd be comfortable making this swap considering the amount of day three picks we have to work with in 2027.
  25. I updated the composite I've put together this morning. Check out page 13 of the Packer's 2026 Off-Season thread for a two-week old version. I will post a final version, but in particular want to wait for a final ranking from Eric Edholm at NFL.com before doing so. Gabe Jacus was #48 in the update from this morning, and I would guess he will go a bit higher than that.
