  1. I can think of two replacements offhand: Mat Gamel and Taylor Green. Neither would be poor options, especially if the team commits to one or the other as the starter, and gets them regular at-bats. With all the young prospects coming up in the outfield (Schaefer, Gindl, John Prince, and the Davises), maybe it's time to think about moving Braun to another position to fill a hole that might be opened up if A-Ram and Hart are traded. Braun was beyond horrible at 3B.
  2. agreed. I for one dont really mind ARam's contract, sure its backloaded a lot, but even if he "only" reproduces this years level, still okay in my eyes. gives the brewres another two seasons to groom the farms for a potential replacement, rather than scrambling, AGAIN, to fill the hot corner.
  3. pretty sure you cant put a player on DL on waivers, just like you can't trade aplayer on the DL. so marcum, and anyone else thats hurt, cant go through waivers until they're re-instated
  4. Brewers dont need a stellar rotation, they need a rotation that will limit the runs to 3-5 a game. they need a strong bullpen! the offensive firepower they have this year (and next!!!!) is good enough to make up any shortcomings they have in the rotation. they've scored 483 runs already this year, they're on pace for over 700 RS this season, right where they were last year, why on earth would you mess with that?
  5. I got to see the brewers get blown out a lot. I remember going on vacation with my family, driving through Baltimore, going to see them play the O's, getting blown out 13-1, having a 2 hr rain delay in the 7th, my dad asking if we wanted to go (we were on the way to the ocean), and me saying "no! they're going to come back and win it!" oh my youthful optimism in the 80's was fantastic. saw them lose to the indians a number of times too! and these were seasons with 80+ wins! just my luck I guess. I didnt see the brewers win a game until 2006, here in Pittsburgh. I went to games at county stadium in 84/85 with my grandpa, lost. have pictures of me crying! thank you pittsburgh for being so terrible to break the streak when I finally returned for a live brewers game!!!
  6. THATRS WHAT IM TALKINA BOUT!!!!!! AAWWWWWWWW YEAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
  7. HERE COMES AUGUST!!!!! 20 GAMES VS NL CENTRAL!!!! ONLY 3 AGAINST CINCY! RUN IT BABY, LETS SEE SOME MAGIC HAPPEN HERE!!!!
  8. drop wolf on waivers and see if anyone bites
  9. difference was that Oswalt hadnt pitched all year, Dempster has been solid all season
  10. im stating my thought from this point, not based on a what-if of the future. right now, he's not worth risking an offer of $13,500,000
  11. I think he'll pitch the rest of the year, he'll get around 150/160 IP
  12. agreed. i was into the idea of marcum coming back on a one-year deal, but the more I think about it, even 12.5 mil is too much, especially since he hasnt pitched since mid june.
  13. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/08/qualifying-offers-will-be-worth-13mm-plus.html http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/08/qualifying-offers-will-be-worth-13mm-plus.html there we go.
  14. take the RF away from Hart, he's already said he is 100% fine with staying at 1B all the time. I love him at 1B, he's a beast. brewers are a couple pieces away from being a pretty good team next year, Hart at 1B is one of them
  15. seriously, he has a young kid on air with him calling the 2nd inning. who else does that/ granted the kid is just talking about things he likes and does, but man, Uecker is the best.
  16. well if Qualls isnt any good, then I would say that the pirates didnt get the better... it'll all depend on how Qualls does. if anything, McGehee won out of everyone involved.
  17. All al teams have a shot before the brewers. And I would think pretty much every team would claim him. false. claims go in order of worst to best record, so if the brewers are the worst-record team to claim Sheilds, they'd be the only team to negotiate a trade with Tampa Bay.
  18. how large of a roster do you think the brewers can have in the majors?
  19. I laughed out loud at this. a LOL if you will
  20. remember when McGehee almost won ROTY....
  21. I read that as coaching impotence, and I wasnt sure how to answer your question...
  22. Hideo Nomo, Kaz Sasaki and Ichiro respectfully disagree with you. Yeah, i mentioned them before, but apparently they didnt read that
  23. I was really hoping he was going to stick in pittsburgh, just so I could watch him more often... but alas, our sweet prince has moved on yet again
  24. yeah i can see that
  25. Ted Williams says hello.... Williams in 1939 BA: .327 OBP: .436 SLG: .609 Hits: 185 HR: 31 RBI: 145 (led league) Runs: 131 SB: 2 Pujols BA - .327 OBP - .403 SLG - .610 Hits - 194 HR - 37 RBI - 130 RUN - 112 SB - 1 Ichiro BA - .350 OBP - .381 SLG - .457 Hits - 242 HR - 8 RBI - 69 RUN - 127 SB - 56 I added SB since Ichiro was so insane on the basepaths...
