  1. Again, was hoping to be wrong but I wasn’t here. Houser is a dumpster fire right now and shame on Counsell, Stearns and Co for going this route. What a shame.
  2. And we could have continued to have to suffer watching Aguilar flail away at the plate if he wasn't moved and he might be out of the MLB right now. Thank the heavens Stearns saved his career by trading him.
  3. I agree. Even the in-game announcers started ripping the players as if it was an easy call to make on the fly. I'll guarantee that all NFL coaches talked through that situation in meetings this week about what to do if they see it again.
  4. If any of that is going to change, our society needs to change a bit. We do not provide enough time off for most working Americans. So in short, most parents are going to shove their kid off as much as they can to keep from staying home themselves. It sucks that our framework has been setup that way but it would be a big change to maybe more happy, healthy people here in the US.
  5. If I see their lineup, I make a late "scratch" and start Claudio and then head to Peralta. Use Houser later in the game once they've bailed on a couple of LH hitters.
  6. 9th chance of the season to get over .500 upcoming. I think they do it this time. Even with Houser on the mound.
  7. Doesn't that describe 95% of MLB? I can't believe we're even having this discussion. Yes, he's struggling right now. He also was a high draft pick, a highly ranked prospect, and demolished college and minor league pitching. Sure, he could be a total bust but he hasn't even played the equivalent of a full 162 game season in his career yet. You can’t believe people would be concerned with him after how terrible he has been? Really? And considering he looks like a JV high school second basemen at times, if he’s not truly the thunderous bat he was in the minors, he becomes a liability to this team in a hurry.
  8. I think many saw him as the second coming of Braun with his bat. I think they’ll be sorely disappointed. He just turned 24 and he's posted a 269/.344/.519 line at 2nd base with an OPS+ of 124 in his first 137 games. I'd say he's doing just fine. Not everyone who thought he'd be a really good young middle of the order hitter is a simple as you're inferring. I don't know who thought he'd be "the second coming" of the last star the Brewers developed from within, but it's pretty reasonable to have very high expectations of him. The high BABIP wasn’t sustainable. His K rate sucks. He’s got a long ways to go considering how much he lacks in every other part of his game other than swinging really hard at every pitch.

  10. Per TH: #Brewers RHP Adrian Houser, trying to put mostly tough season behind him, thinks he's ready to turn it around tomorrow in Cincy after what he called "the best bullpen (session) I’ve had all year. I’m just trying to take that into the game tomorrow night." Equivalent of he’s in the best shape of his life during ST.
  11. Another 3 Ks for Hiura last night. I know he occasionally runs into one, and it typically goes a long way, but for the most part, his at-bats have been disgusting this season. It's gotten to the point where I get up and leave the room during his at-bats, because it's so disappointing watching a player who has so much skill and talent, but evidently has no clue how to use it. I believe that Hiura has tremendous upside, but he's gotta get on top of his swing-and-miss tendencies, or I fear he's not going to have a long career. Thankfully he is very young, and there's still a lot of time for him to figure it out. For all of the "contact hitters" Stearns brought in this year, here we are tied for 3rd most strikeouts in the league again this year. Look no further than Yelich and Hiura for a big helping hand with that.
  12. His clutch starts are actually pretty good. Bad at bat. Isn’t the player we all hoped. But it was one clutch at bat when he’s had plenty of clutch moments.
  13. Please give us another magical homer. Crap.
  14. Going about as expected so far. Need Castillo to mess up!
  15. 4 days rest would be fine if it means skipping Houser and using him in the pen. I would do that with both Burnes and Woody but I highly doubt they would.
  16. I wonder if those two GM's were smart enough to build RB depth behind their studs like our GM did this past draft.
