  1. I don’t think I trust Ashby enough to be on the post season roster. Maybe he will get more opportunities here but just don’t trust that he would be reliable yet.
  2. Man, I wish the Reds weren’t better than us.
  3. They have had 8 base runners (5 hits, 3 walks) through the first 11 outs so far, it seems like it’s been some bad luck sequences more than sucking. Yep. And now 3 runs in 4 innings. 6 hits and 3 walks. Today’s not the day to bark about sucking against anyone.
  4. Well that’s one way to keep next years DH.
  5. What’s regional about the Big Ten these days?
  6. I'm confused by this. You don't choose the 4 teams that make the playoffs until after the bowl games. Obviously that makes them super meaningful, and you end up playing fewer games than a 12 team playoff system. Same number of games as in 8 team playoff, except that it throws a bone to the Rose Bowl and Orange bowl etc. because those are awesome games that have obvious playoff implications. Too many bowl games. I’ve never been a fan of it. There’s no reason for like 90% of bowl games other than to have a company slap their name on a trophy and promote it. I just hate the meaningless of college football. There is simply too much of it. The system in place sucks. 125 D1 football teams should be cut in half to start. And that may be too many still. But people continue to watch and go to games so the cycle of a lousy system will continue.
  7. I just love the show Ted Lasso. It’s on AppleTV so you have to have that subscription but it’s good.
  8. Have one scrimmage game with another opponent after a couple days of joint practice and one official preseason game. If they can’t tell who can play off of that, they aren’t good at their jobs. The NFL could and should then have a minor league football league that consists of just a few teams that play a few games on like Tuesdays or something. Teams can pick guys off those teams much like a waiver wire.
  9. I don't know, the Jets basically played their starters and our backups (scrubs) seemed to do just fine against them.
  10. Isn’t it true that JBJ isn’t even a negative WAR player even as bad as he’s been? Makes you question that rating system a bit.
  11. Yeah, I don’t think you cut him.
  12. Too many games. Doubtful they’d say yes to that. I’ve never liked the Bowl games because they’re pretty meaningless.
  13. I hate intentionally walking the bases loaded.
  14. Part of the reason for the struggles is that you lose Narvaez in the lineup vs lefties and Pina is pretty stinky offensively these days so it’s like you’re batting two pitchers. Toss in Cain being pedestrian and you have 1/3 of your lineup not being very good. Need to really rely on the top half to make some adjustments going forward.
  15. i really don't think they've been all that inconsistent since the Adames trade. Every single team in the league goes through stretches just like this. It happens. Correct. In fact they’ve been the best offense.
  16. Cool news. I love that these guys all seem to support one another.
  17. It’s good to know the Dodgers have to use our scraps to make it.
  18. LOL no, not facts. The .797 was referring to what Garcia's OPS was 8 days ago. You are arguing a completely different point than what the original poster introduced. Actually, I'm not. Original poster wanted to know what is going on with Garcia. Is he hurt? I'm arguing that he just isn't very good, and his time with the Brewers hasn't been very good, so it's not really a surprise what we are seeing from him. You can't cherry pick his .797 and say that is the real Garcia, when he is sitting at .619 for the season. He is a below average guy that we feel the need to play, even though we have Taylor, who is outplaying him, sitting the bench. Bump. If you’re going to tout being right about Cain, I’ll gladly point out this crap take on Garcia.
  19. Fire Stearns. He clearly doesn’t know what he’s doing.
  20. Give it another loss or two. A couple key Debbie downers have mysteriously gone missing recently and I’m sure they’re lurking around ready to pounce once we hit a rough patch.
