  1. He’s not a number three though. At least his stat line isn’t.
  2. The difference between comparing Woody to Houser is that Woody showed starter success in the minors while Houser has struggled there too. Maybe a different pitch gets him to being successful but as of today it just hasn’t happened.
  3. I think that is mostly an opinion, not fact... I am for the nets, however, if you are sitting in an area without a net, that is your decision. There is risk involved, and if you are not smart enough to realize that as a fan, and you sit in those areas, there is always a chance to get nailed. It's the idiots that take kids and babies to games and sit in screaming foul ball territory that bug me. I get used to the nets during games, so it isn't a factor for me, but I don't think we can say that the nets won't impact anyone's enjoyment of the game, because there are obviously people that it will. I tried to type this out a little bit ago and it didn’t nearly come off as well as you wrote it but this is where my take is.
  4. Last night wasn't even his worst start. I've had this opinion for a while now. He just keeps proving me more right than I am wrong on it. And yes, it is totally understood that the Brewers were running out of options but they shouldn't go into this offseason thinking this guy is a stable piece to a good rotation.
  5. If Davies had his stat line we’d have posters calling for Stearns job. Oh wait, one of the posters in this thread has already done that.
  6. I doubt I’m the only one, that after looking at the stats, thinks it may be a better option to have him in the pen in the future. Unless he can improve upon his 3rd time through the order (.364/.391/.727/1.119), then he probably doesn’t belong in our starting rotation going forward. And I think I covered the fact of why this move was made when it was so the second post is pretty much, well, crap. But that doesn’t surprise me.
  7. Getting Fitzpatrick would be fun! More depth, talented player, and would fit what they’re trying to do.
  8. I thought they made a mistake putting this guy into the rotation as I thought he was becoming a dominant bullpen option for us. I know they their backs were up against the wall with finding rotation pieces due to injuries but it makes me wonder if it was the best choice. Now he has had some very nice start for us but here is the splits this season for him: As a starter (15G- 67.2 innings): .283/.355/.468/.823 with a 2-6 record and a 4.92 ERA and a 1.493 WHIP As a reliever: (17G- 30.2 innings): .180/.254/.270/.524 with a 4-0 record and a 1.47 ERA and a 0.946 WHIP
  9. Why is Burnes even on this team if he can’t pitch in a game like this?
  10. Why would the Cardinals have that information and no one else? Hasn’t been reported on, ever.
  11. Yeah, he's certainly going to be non-tendered now, but he did make 3.7M both this and last year by the Brewers waiting him out. Someone will take a shot on him next year, but it may not even be on a major league deal at this point. I agree. I just don’t know if he ever truly makes it back. But making about $10M in pro baseball, there could be worse things. Just stinks the way in which his career was derailed.
  12. At least Jimmy got $3.7M for this season. Going to be hard for him going forward to earn some serious cash.
  13. 38-year old Wainwright mowing us down suuuuuuucks.
  14. Well, that sucks. Needed Houser to come up big and just hasn’t. Need our offense to get crazy tonight.
  15. Milwaukee Brewers to extend protective netting on Field Level at Miller Park in 2020 Figured it was coming sooner or later.
  16. Epstein frustrated with Cubs: We put Brewers back in wild-card race If there's nothing else that comes from this season it is that we have fully entered the minds of that front office and put them on full tilt. Nothing would be better than sending them home early this year and shrinking their window once again.
  17. You'll also see him firing our GM, amongst other batcrazy stuff, so I'm not sure why anyone goes down this road with this guy.
  18. Same poster has a history of telling everyone the Brewers aren't going to make the playoffs because of their run differential. So it's not one thing. Well, to be fair, he has about as much statistical proof that we won't go to the playoffs as the original poster does of Yeli winning this award.
  19. I think we need to wait to see where our franchise is at when he's getting close to being out of our contract. If we are still in competitive mode, then it may be like a Fielder situation. If we are looking like we need a rebuild, then we probably will trade him off for a few pieces. Either way, I don't expect us to offer up the kind of dough that it would take to keep him around for the long haul and I personally don't believe that would be in the best interest for the Brewers anyways. And that is coming from a guy that has loved having Braun still here.
  20. Maybe if you do less of your schtick... oh, never mind. Just keep trying to call out other posters. It's more comical that way.
  21. Minnesota, do your jobs well tonight!
  22. Although you were grumpy as hell in a response towards me, it’s not that I don’t agree that he has been the most valuable, it’s that he isn’t winning it. He needed to finish the season strong and the Brewers to make the playoffs for the voters to make that choice. He got hurt, he’s great, but it’s over. He will just have to win one next season. Great work on all that work though. Hopefully venting helps you out a bit on this one.
  23. Ten games over .500!!
