  1. Rodgers couldn’t stick with the quick hitters for an entire drive even. Had an opportunity to hit Jones in the flats to move the chain too.
  2. Bigger question. Who doesn’t audible out of it?
  3. Sure. There record said so. This lousy season for them (so far) doesn’t take that away.
  4. I have a ton of faith too but so far Stearns has been terrible at judging the second base position. So that lessens my faith a bit since they have been so dead wrong in just about every move they’ve made there. But like you said, if they sold high on Hiura it probably would be for a reason we are not privy too.
  5. I hope you are right and he's our 2B for years to come. Yet..... Hiura hit .272 with 6 HR at AA in 73 games. What makes you so confident that he can hit well in the majors? As minor league hitting prospects, they are in the same world as another has noted with rankings, if not with milb stats, where Brinson has the edge. Brinson would have the edge with defense, as well, until Hiura proves himsellf at 2B. I'm pumping the brakes until Hiura show me a good 2019 at AA or AAA. You may be right with him, but I need to see more. That .272 is 30 points better than the league average. And would have put him in the top ten of batters in that league. But to answer your question is that it is the way the ball jumps off his bat. I remember the sound even in spring training games. It’s just different. He’s going to hit. Hopefully it will be in Milwaukee.
  6. Hader wins Hoffman POY award. Chalk another award for the crew.
  7. They were pretty similar in prospect ranking and trade value, however. Very similar, actually. And I'd say Hiura definitely has some red flags of injury as well. Again I am not saying they should trade Hiura for Merrifield, or even trade Hiura at all. I love Hiura. But I like to think that this FO always keeps every door open. For all we know their feeling after 2018 is that Hiura is a DH only in the future who will require TJ at some point and they'd prefer to trade him high. They are a lot better able to evaluate these guys in depth. We just don't know. Prospect rankings mean very little to me as they’ve been so unreliable in so many ways. Watch Hiura hit and watch Brinson hit. It’s not close.
  8. Brinson and Hiura aren’t even in the same world as hitters and the red flags of injury were well documented with Brinson. And yes, they’d be considered idiots to me to move on a player of his hitting ability when that is exactly what they lack through their system and at a position of need.
  9. Yes, but.... Much of the foundation of this team was built on trading for controllable MLB players like Shaw and Yelich. I'm not comparing Whit to them, just saying lf you think he can be the player he's been the last 2 years for the Royals for the next 4 in a Brewer uniform, there is certainly precedence for it. If it includes Hiura, they’re idiots. Purely simple.
  10. These are Chrysts players now too. Alarming.
  11. Chryst and his play calling... man it sucks.
  12. Patience will win the day. If we want a long stretch of competing, then patience is required to let these young bucks get up and get established.
  13. I fell asleep. Bummer.
  14. Why not just not visit the IGT and still participate in all the rest of the baseball discussion? Either way, a few of your posts lately have not come off well but that’s just an opinion. Hope ya get it figured out because this seems way to angry for baseball posts.
  15. It can work both ways. I mean the success we seen from Chacin and Miley should earn them some good money. If you are one of those types of pitchers, you may love the opportunity to work for Milwaukee. Now, if we get ourselves an "ace" (hate that term) that can go 7-innings, then I would assume CC and DS would change accordingly.
  16. Not to sidetrack the thread, but I have to ask: Where in the world did this notion of a perceived need to upgrade 1B come from? Granted, his 1st half was nearly otherworldly, but it was still real, and Aguilar basically was one of the best-producing 1B in all of MLB. And he's cheap. So exactly how (and/or why) upgrade 1B? Okay, sorry, back to the thread topic... Some, including myself, feel that Aguilar was more flukey than real and that if the right deal came along, Stearns should make it and sell high. Then try to upgrade the position if it is possible. Chances are it won’t happen but that’s where it comes from.
  17. Why would any D1 talent come to Wisconsin to play in our crap weather? At least UW-M plays in Miller Park sometimes. Gophers have a program.
  18. Shaw for 2B? Because he was shoved out of his position for a better fielder. I mean these awards are ridiculous.
  19. Well to be fair to Stearns, we have tried to be as cheap as possible with the position and so you get what you pay for sometimes.
  20. Manny Pina just named as a finals for a Gold Glove at the catcher position. Man has the catcher position fallen off. I mean Pina, Posey, and caught less than 100 games this year. Even with a direct shot to his nut sac, Molina caught 120+ games. I'm sure it is a no brainer to give him the award but boy, what a weak field it has become.
  21. [sarcasm]Well, he ended up right.[/sarcasm]
  22. I don't think this is the issue. For me, it's posters having the game lost before it begins or us having a 1-0 deficit in the first and claiming that the game is over and Counsell should be fired. But just like turborickey said, IGT's are mainly a fun thing. It is easy to let yourself get heated there and we all probably need work on it at times but for the most part, it is hot takes that really mean pretty little in the grand scheme of things.
