  1. One is basically 31 years old and the other is their prized arm and is 24 years of age. It does make a difference. They want him to last. It’s frustrating to lose games because he isn’t available all the time but the other part of me does understand what they’re doing.
  2. Per Adam McCalvy This seems to fall under the idea that it’d just be better if he was a starter.
  3. So, Hader wasn't available after a day of rest following 2 days of work, but Jennings was available for the 3rd straight day and 4th in the last 5 days? You don’t believe that they’d limit a prized arm over a journeyman reliever? It is very plausible that Hader is being limited as an organizational plan.
  4. Is this what the sarcasm font was intended for? Jerky, off the cuff frustration? Putting this silliness in blue doesn’t hide the snark. I apologize if you are offended. Offended? No. Confused by your post? A little. Think it sounds like a two year old throwing a temper tantrum? Most definitely.
  5. It had nothing to do with the typical 2+ innings for Hader so at least two days off. He only pitched an inning Thursday and the blow up on Wednesday. Counsell talks so much of doing everything he can when they have the chance to win (leading). Hader should be available and he didn’t use him. We needed one batter out of him...that was it. If he wasn’t available they need to reassess their plan. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t know the plan or if one exists even. It just feels like it. And whether he pitches to one batter or three, he’s gotta warm up and all that too. It sure feels like they’re trying to eliminate the number of appearances he has this season.
  6. Anyone think that CC/Johnson/Stearns have sat down with some guidelines as to how Hader will be used? It sure feels that way. Just feels like they won’t deviate from it either. Playing the long game.

  8. If that plan does not include making the playoffs which the current one does not it is a horrible plan. Last I checked, they’d be in he playoffs if the season ended today. All I’m saying is we don’t have to like their plan but there obviously is one. Lots of pitchers flame out, they’re probably trying to prevent that. Just a guess.
  9. I mean it wasn’t hit hard and it was a ground ball but at some point you just gotta get the job done.
  10. Depends what you do with Schoop, Thames, even Aguilar.
  11. Burnes isn’t starting.
  12. You’re right Adam. It’s not 40. It’s above that in the second half. 56% in August. Wow. Again, it’s a weird hill to die on. And that was one heck of a post Humans Need Water.
  13. CC said he may be used out of the pen. So he is going to pitch 10-12 innings? Tonight? I hope not. That’s be an awfully long game.
  14. Knebel coming up tomorrow.
  15. I am good with roster expansion but you should get to activate like 30 players a game. Not play with 40. The games get silly.
  16. Dread it. Rule change needs to occur.
  17. One is trending up and the other doesn’t have a position, strikes out about 40% of the time and that might be light. I wasn’t saying he should or even would be DFA’d but it won’t take much more of what he’s doing lately for Stearns and co. to get there.
