  1. If Saladino comes back and hits, he stays. If he doesn’t, you hold onto Perez for the defensive part of playing multiple positions.
  2. If you want to say he'll get a few starts at 2b and ph, that's much more reasonable than all the people expecting him to play SS. I also don't think Miller is even close to the player that Villar is, so him playing a lot at 2b doesn't make any sense. So we're basically trading for a bad defender and specifically bad pinch hitter to be on our bench. I'd rather give up something of value for more than at best a marginal upgrade over one of Sogard/Perez. Again, you’re using such a small sample size to try to validate your point. It’s rather odd. Also, like others have stated, even with worse defense, he’s a better play at SS that’s Sogard or Perez and possibly Arcia. It’s not crazy thinking at all, hence why the trade was made.
  3. Keith, this seems like a weird hill to die on. Miller wasn’t traded for to stay in AAA. He’s gonna be in Milwaukee and most likely will outhit all that we have at middle infield right now. Especially against RHP, which is the best kind of platoon guy we could grab right now.
  4. We are hoping Saladino comes back and performs. Decent chance he doesn’t.
  5. Setting the bar awfully low. You could pull a fan out of the stands and find more value than Sogard has been this season.
  6. Saladino Villar Perez Sogard Will have to wait to see Miller play but it’s doubtful he’s not as good as Sogard there.
  7. Could’ve swore the Rays DFA’d him a few days ago.
  8. he was just optioned, so he must stay down for at least 10 days, unless replacing a player put on the disabled list. Does that transfer when you’re traded? Doesn’t seem right.
  9. The better question is who is a better player: Miller or Sogard? That was going to be my follow up because Miller is better than Choi. He’s better than Sogard. He’s better than Perez. What the heck are we complaining about around here? Trying to use 50 PA’s of him as a pinch hitter has me stunned. Is he a great defender? Uhh... no. But we aren’t scoring enough runs and Miller might help us solve that.
  10. Pretty ironic to be calling Counsell's press conferences "so cringe" when your entire post is barely comprehensible. Sorry I am Croatian, so English is not my first language, is that a problem? Are you prejudiced? Lol, You should think before you take shots. It's OK, counsel is here to stay, no need to get offended because I took a shot at the reporters, lol. Whoa. So you can take shots at people but someone, who I’m guessing doesn’t know your ethnicity, calls you out and this is your response? Wow. Rough beginning to your time here on the forums.
  11. Great trade. Used depth to possibly help fix a hole.
  12. I love Jesus... but am good with giving Thames the start tomorrow Keep em hungry Quintana on the bump tomorrow. Thames can enjoy the view til we knock him out.
  13. Aguilar probably okay with that. Shocked they didn’t just walk Yelich and go after a guy who has struck out four times already. I suppose you don’t want a walk to tie it up on you.
  14. Did Santana not get a good jump? Thought he might be able to push it to possibly score.
  15. Come on bottom of the order. Let’s get some guys on and make this one interesting.
  16. If they let Sogard hit... I’ll cry .. but I don’t think there’s any other option on D..? They pretty much have to unless they bring Braun into 2B lol
  17. 9th Inning: -Pina -Sogard -Santana? Sure wish they had Choi now, or Thames. Or just about anyone else.
  18. Braun’s OPS now at .772 Without crap luck, he’s well over .800 Keep heating up!
  19. It's a good thing everyone else has been putting the ball in play today, right? This just isn’t a today thing and you know that. Take your fandom out of it for a bit and realize that he’s just not getting the job done this year. And others have already debunked your “one of the top defensive catchers in the game” claim.
  20. Stop dreaming , we wouldn’t have trash Sunday’s if we did that Oh they very well could be still but at least we would know. Both Pina and Sogard caught lightning in a bottle a season ago and it most likely isn’t coming back. It’d be great to turn over those roster sports and see if we can find some answers.
