Arcia is a bad hitter but most 8-hole hitters are. I’d want to get that guy out so you can lead the next inning off with the pitcher. That’s the smart play pretty much all the time and definitely early in the game. Unless you've got a total albatross of a hitter or a really good hitting pitcher I disagree. It's not worth risking the run just to leadoff the pitcher the next inning. Chacin pretty clearly pitched around Gimenez in the 2nd to face Montgomery which was the right call. I don’t like it. There’s like a 10% more of a chance of a hit with you’re 8th place hitter. I say you go after him and get the out.

Domingo made a pretty nice play in RF tonight.

Plush is pretty anti Braun, but I do find it funny that Braun has as many HRs and more RBIs than Bryant in about 50 or so at bats. Which would mean a lot more if HR or RBI were useful stats for judging a player. Bryant has an .885 OPS, 139 wRC+ and 2.2 WAR. Braun has a .770, 101 and 0.6. Bryant has been an all star level player and Braun has been a little below average. My god. I wasn’t saying Braun is better than Bryant. Calm down there Cheech. But thanks for all those lovely stats.

Wouldn’t worry about it. It was a nice play and for some, Braun can’t make nice plays.

Yeah he's absolutely lost at the plate. It's like Villar last year only worse. He needs AAA at bats, we just need someone to replace him that can play good defense. Miller is on the way.
