  1. Villar has been doing a nice job at seeing a lot of pitches lately. Problem is they’re not leading to enough walks and hits. Either way, you can’t watch strike three there on a fastball. Battle man. Battle..
  2. I thought the same thing. On top of that, probably 5% of players actually sprint that out. It’s just not all that common.
  3. Personally I couldn't care less if he sneaks back into AAA or not. If he does great. If not, won't be missed. For me it’s about depth. No one at AA is ready to move to AAA so it’d be nice to keep Bandy there to back up Nottingham.
  4. Bandy has had good minor league stats but it just hasn’t translated to good success in the majors. I think it’s time to see if we can sneak him back to AAA and see what Bethancourt can do in that role.
  5. Think it’s a bit much to ridicule Counsell and his pitching moves considering what this pitching staff as a whole has done so far this season.
  6. Seems so long ago that people were ready to write off Chacin. He has done his job well as of late. Nice to see.
  7. I can't tell if you are totally joking, half serious hoping, or dead serious. But he had a nice night last night. I still agree with you that he's the best option of those currently on the roster to play 2nd (and contrary to popular belief his defense is not that bad). Why he was totally benched for mediocre players on a team that regularly rotates guys in and out remains a mystery to me. Depending how the next week to month goes, I’ll let you know.
  8. Villar is just heating up. He’s gonna put on a show the rest of the season.
  9. Long bat = thinks he can hit balls six inches off the plate = swinging at bad pitches. At least that’s what I’m going with.
  10. That’s a bummer. Has such a sweet stroke from the left side.
  11. It was me Luke. I mentioned the long bat and about being glad that the Brewers allow time before making drastic adjustments. The long bat at his age is a bit silly. Especially when you consider the back and thumb issues he’s had in his career. Shorten it up and let that hand-eye take over. A guy that has a lifetime average above .300 in the majors should be able to make this adjustment. It could really prolong his career as being a good hitter. Not sure Darnell Coles is the man for this job though.
  12. Very well could be. At least a combination of this plus some hard luck. He definitely needs to get back to some better disciplined at bats but when I see things like: -“Ryan Braun has a .250 BABIP which is basically a career low, on a 20.6 line drive percentage, which is almost a career high.” -“Less subjectively, his average exit velocity thus far on liners and fly balls is 97.5 mph. That ranks 25th out of 379 hitters (min 25 AB). While exit velocity isn't exactly predictive, it does suggest his .250 BABIP is a load of crap.” It makes me feel a heck of a lot better about his odds to come out of this slumber and help this team this season.
  13. It's already time. Now I hope he keeps him there just because of the way you’re acting. Too funny.
  14. I'm not panicked at all. I'm just glad that there's better options to play than a 34 year old glass man who can't stay healthy and isn't the hitter he used to be. At the very least it's time for Counsell to take the guy out of the 3 spot when he plays. Counsell will let you know when it is time.
  15. If Williams stays away from walks, he will be just fine. Granted, you could say that about a lot of guys I suppose.
  16. Advanced data says hold off on this hot take. But you have a right to your opinion. At some point, results matter. Dude looks lost at the plate. I don't care about "exit velocity". Cool, he's hitting some hard foul balls and fly outs. He's OBP-ing about .270 and hitting 3rd, and playing every day that he doesn't have a stubbed toe or a tweaked hammy, and making outs 75% of the time in the 3 spot. Well of course results matter. But it’s still very early to just simply have the take you’re doing right now. On anyone. Either the advanced data shows us there will be an adjustmemt in his numbers or they won’t and Counsell will make an adjustment down the road. Said it before, I’m glad the Brewers don’t panic like we do. It pays off a lot of the time.
  17. [sarcasm]0-5 from Aguilar tonight. Man that guys a turd.[/sarcasm]
  18. Advanced data says hold off on this hot take. But you have a right to your opinion.
  19. After seeing Jered Hughes stat line. Why did we keep Drake and let Hughes go again?
  20. Yes, Sogard was/is terrible. That doesn’t mean we should settle for Perez and his .280 OBP at best. He’s a fine bench guy and can get you through an injury but starting 2B he should not be.
  21. His average has never been an issue. While we all want to see him hit .300, it is the fact that he rarer gets on base above that number that is the problem. It has held him out of a starting role his entire career and rightfully so.
  22. Not sure why you wouldn’t use the cart. I mean, it’s hilarious. Nice job done there by Guerra. Good start. Let’s get some runs.
  23. Grabbing both Lowrie and Lucroy would be huge for this lineup and for the depth of this team. Cain- CF Lowrie- 2B Yelich- LF Braun- 1B / Aguilar Shaw- 3B Santana- RF Lucroy/Pina- C Arcia- SS Bench: Pina/Lucroy, Aguilar, Perez, Saladino/Villar
  24. The exit velo on liners and fly balls is impressive too. Ranked 25th in almost 400 hitters. I still think pitch selection needs to improve but this is nice to see. Might be a big reason why Counsell hasn’t panicked with him hitting in the 3-hole. Also, Goldschmidt will be just fine too.
