  1. Braun’s played in the last four games and 37 out of 41 so far this season. Playing time hasn’t been the issue, his pitch selection has been.
  2. Partly just want to see Villar moved so he can get on with his career and probably be more productive for someone else.
  3. I don't know how we got to this place where we have the Scooter "haters" and the guys who won't let it go that he was moved on from but it sure does stink. There were so many factors in the move. Salary, defense, he wasn't hitting all that great for us, lack of another position, we had an up and comer at the same position who had a great year, plus probably other factors I'm not even remembering. It is what it is. Would his stat line be a great addition in our 6-hole? Of course. But the rest of this stuff is really a bunch of nonsense that just divides us for really no good reason.
  4. Honestly, unless there is an injury (other than Nelson's), I think I am good to give this mixture of no namers and young guys a chance this year. If that leads us to the postseason, great. If it doesn't it will only help us understand what they are. I just don't see how an Archer pushes this team to a different level than they are currently at. I'd rather see Burnes and Peralta be the additions.
  5. Hopefully, we are catching this team at the right time and we can continue pushing them on their losing ways.
  6. [sarcasm]But Saldino doesn't bat left-handed.[/sarcasm]
  7. None of these guys were trying to figure it out near the top of the order though. It sure wouldn't kill them to drop him to 5th or 6th in the order when he's in for the time being. He's been a fixture at #3 for so many years you wonder if Counsell is hesitant because he feels like he would be slighting him. Anyone else would have been dropped in the order by now. Yeah, it is just one of those things with a veteran player in the MLB. The leashes get longer with proven players. I'm not saying I am opposed to it but what you described is probably right. My guess is he will get a few off days scatted in there now and match him up against guys he's had success against to get him going. To be honest, we need him to get going. He will only help push our offense to where we need it to be. I just wish he would ditch the 35-36 inch bat. He gets himself in trouble with trying to cover so much of the plate.
  8. Agreed with this. If we are not going to use Villar and obviously Broxton is blocked, we should be looking to move them. Now, obviously it takes two to tango but these two players make a lot of sense for Seattle.
  9. Braun better get it turned around in the next couple of weeks or else he'll become a permanent fixture on the bench. Not calling out one poster because we are all probably guilty of this and I've seen it said about a few players already this season. The same thing was said about Santana about two weeks ago. It is a long season. Ups and downs. It'll all get figured out as they go through the season. I'd be willing to bet that Aguilar doesn't continue what he's doing for much longer and if/when he doesn't, next man up will have to carry the baton. That is what good teams do. We worry about this stuff way too much.
  10. Brandon Woodruff has pitched 55 innings in the pros. Man are we good at jumping the gun on some things.
  11. Two-strike swings like Braun had just piss me off. So tired of swinging for it all, every single pitch. A hitter like Braun should know better. It's been old for a while now. A nice first inning for Peralta there. Settle in and give us 6.
  12. Just put Braun there and be done with it.
  13. Rotation is currently without Nelson, Anderson and Davies. Whoa.
  14. Turns out he's not making his start tonight. Possible protection for tomorrows game if Anderson doesn't get any better? Me hopes so.
  15. My gripe isn't because I don't like Suter. I just don't like him starting. He should be our long man. He's good in spirts.
  16. I just don't get why we wouldn't have brought up Peralta who is scheduled to pitch an hour away from us.
  17. This is where one instance that I think Braun might be the better choice to play third.
  18. Pretty comical that Drake was allowed to collect a MLB salary for so long but now Barnes optioned.
  19. I don’t care who plays second as long as they do a good job. If that’s Perez, perfectly fine with that. If it gets back to Villar, good there too. We just need productive at bats from the bottom of the order because as we can see, we can actually score some runs when they’re getting on base.
  20. His footwork while batting is of a rec league softball player walking the box.
