  1. Hopefully Braun coming out is precautionary move and not serious. Going to need that bat with such a dreadful bottom of the order and bench.
  2. 5 IP, 3H, 3BB, 4K, 1ER on 87 pitches. Nice job Miley! I wonder if we go 1-2-3 if he starts the 6th?
  3. Effectively wild. Hopefully he can get through one more and hold them to one run. That will be a success in his first outing.
  4. Pina would be a better backup than Maldonado. I think he should be able to be a league average hitter most of the time and is excellent defensively. But agreed that we could use a better starting catcher, maybe Nottingham eventually but in the meantime let's hope Vogt comes back and tears the cover off the ball at least. Problem with Vogt is that he is horrible behind the plate. This lineup could use a Realmuto in a big way. Solidify that 6-hole and let Arcia and Villar hack away in the 7-8 spots.
  5. Well it looks like Coles is starting to do his job with Arcia. Heating up! I can’t state enough how I want the Brewers to go get another catcher. Pina’s 15 minutes are over for me.
  6. I'm ok with him taking chances at the bottom of the order. He needs to realize he's leading off with the heart of the order behind him Yeah time and place for sure. I just lean more towards it being okay because the play was in front of him and you could see the RF kind of lazy attempt at getting to the ball. Probably best for him to never attempt to stretch anything just for Brewers fans brains though.
  7. Miley has looked good so far. Villar I’m okay with trying it. Right fielder was late to the ball. Made a nice throw. Nice hit as well. Hopefully he keeps going in that direction Yelich smoked that ball.
  8. Nice to see Braun in there again and not have to have a day off. His health is a key to our lineup.
  9. I'd rather keep him at a familiar spot in the lineup around the #6-7 hole. Kind of acts like a 2nd leadoff down there and keeps his role more consistent - that said there aren't many better options than him at the top of the lineup with Cain not starting tonight. Probably jinxing it, but I feel like Santana gets off his HR goose-egg tonight... I completely get this take. But I don’t get complaining about his OBP when he’s been okay in that department compared to the rest of the team. Just adds to the Villar “hate” nauseum for me.
  10. Villar has been just about on par with everyone else on the team outside of Cain and Yelich so why not put that speed and baserunning on top and hopefully he gets on a couple times tonight.
  11. Really hope we don't try to get cute with the lineup. Just stick with what has been producing. Braun doesn't need a damn day off. He's hitting it well. No reason that Villar shouldn't be playing. Pina, you had enough rest on the DL. Arica had three hits last night, please don't give us Sogard.
  12. LOL, good call. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt today, for at least one time through the order. #FreeBrentSuter I'm just glad they didn't send down Brent yet because who else would play the bench drums in their pregame band?
  13. Whenever I read your posts, I really wonder why you even follow this team. And I don't say that rudely. I say it because you seem to hate just about everything about them. It is rather odd to me.
  14. [sarcasm]You don't say? Hmm... I must've missed it.[/sarcasm]
  15. He has a .158 BABIP with a 26% LD%. He's been incredibly unlucky. Compare that to Villar who has a .390 BABIP and an 18% LD%..... so, he's been as lucky as you can be. Go ahead though, use his batting average as the catalyst to DFA him after less than 60 PA's. The snark isn't justified since he has been a bad hitter his entire career outside of one hot stretch last season. Villar has superior talents and the Brewers need to continue to play him to hopefully find out if he can use them or not. No need for Sogard to ever be signed in the first place.
  16. Agreed, looking back at his 11 appearances this year, he had 2 blow ups and 1 so-so, other than those he was decent. The one time i saw him this year, 4/2 Cardinals, I thought he was very effective. Having said that, does he belong on the Brewers? No, this team has much better options, but some team like the Reds, Marlins or KC, he would be a huge upgrade over what they have now. So Oliver, thank you for your time here and thank you for your service to this country. Good Luck!
  17. Arcia makes up for it in the end. JJ with a nice save. Good win tonight.
