  1. Yeah it is a timing play, not a force out. Run scores.
  2. I think he’d be a great pick up, but I think he’d be expensive as well. Probably worth a top ten player plus a major leaguer. I’d give up Dubon plus, but I’m betting they ask for Burnes or Peralta plus. I believe he’s a free agent after the year so you would think that would drive down the price a bit. Maybe?
  3. Cain and Yelich became available. I'm not really sure how many 2B's were actually available this offseason via trade that would've been an upgrade? Just because it was a possible need for us doesn't mean there was any market for it. That plays a large role in this. I'd rather have Cain-Yelich than be playing Broxton-Phillips and having signed/traded for a minimal upgrade at 2B. I'll just say that.
  4. Logic? What the hell is that? It is definitely because he is in a Brewers uniform and not a Rangers one.
  5. Oh for sure. It is easy to get fired up about Brewers baseball and say something that you may regret later. I think we've all had our fair share of hot takes that are probably pretty silly in hindsight. I hope you continue to have egg on your face because it just means things are going well in those departments.
  6. Are you ready to believe in the "special sauce" yet? And I am not trying to rub it in your face right now because in a month, he could be a turd. But it sure seems like there is something "special" about JJ in a Brewers uniform.
  7. You can do this as long as you are okay with Villar playing SS as you have cut Sogard/Perez who is filling in there right now. Personally, I'm not sure Phillips belongs on the big league club. He's Keon Broxton. Hole in his bat.
  8. Yes. Spending resources to get a minimal upgrade, if at all, is definitely not a great way to do business. Yelich and Cain are definite upgrades. The slew of 2B's might, probably wasn't going to be.
  9. I don't know if I am too concerned because it only pads the depth of this pen just that much more. Suter is a definite candidate to go down as well as possibly Williams. Do I want to see Williams? No. But with options, it is always a possibility. And with the length that Jennings, Hader, Jeffress give you, having a true "loogy" might be a better option than Suter.
  10. Is it possible that Stearns didn't upgrade 2B because he feels it was not needed? We jump to conclusions about how the upgrade of our outfield left us unable to upgrade 2B. I just don't feel that was the case. Walker could've been had and it wouldn't have changed much payroll wise. They wanted to ride with Villar and hope he turns out to be closer to 2016 and if not, hopeful that Sogard would be able to fill that role. Right now, it is too early on judging either of them but it might be that Villar just never regains the pop in his bat enough to warrant the spotty defense and it might be that Sogard just isn't a good hitter, like the rest of his career indicated. If this is the case, they will probably upgrade in July like they did a season ago.
  11. I suppose it depends on how fast of an eater you are.
  12. Holding off with a lot of this stuff until we get into the late parts of June, beginning of July. Doesn't seem like many of these deals ever happen before mid-July anyways.
  13. I didn't say I wanted to sign him to a multi-year contract. I now have a glimpse of hope he will have ongoing success. A simple post in the Optimism thread probably would've been a bit better. But hey, he dealt last night!
  14. If they both keep doing what they’re doing right now it would be an absolute shame if they didn’t.
  15. If the Dodgers continue to stink, Yasmany Grandal?
  16. 5-4 road trip, 19-13 overall. YOUR FIRST PLACE MILWAUKEE BREWERS!!
  17. As much as we hate playing the Cubs right now, Reds fans are probably pretty excited to see the Brewers leave town. All 200 of them.
