  1. These are the comments I’m lost on with this. Who knows who will be players at the deadline.
  2. Only like 15 pitchers a season make it to 200 innings pitched.
  3. Where does Lucroy get an offer from? He wants a contender but I'm not sure there's a team that is in contending mode for him.
  4. Who cares what we classify him as in our rotation. He gets people out at a pretty good clip. He can help us win ball games. Hopefully, the deal we make is a good one and it pays off for this franchise.
  5. Cobb >> Odorizzi. So I'm good with that decision if it does happen.
  6. If it does happen, please let it be a 4-year deal.
  7. HighHeat19 now tweeting gifs of Cobb. Boy, that guy knows how to get peoples wheels spinning lol.
  8. Anything that speeds up the downtime in a baseball game is alright with me. If the next generation of fans is really going to take hold of this game, it has to figure out a way to get away from the complete stoppages of the game. I love baseball and it doesn't bother me all that much that it's a slower moving game but I want to see this game grow even more.
  9. What's the status of Duffy's elbow? Because after all the discussion about just about every other pitcher we've had on here, he might be the best option for the Brewers. Cheaper control through 2021 and has pitched like a TOR pitcher for much of his career. Couple that with the Royals tearing it down and we might have a good match.
  10. What in the hell?
  11. It’s been awhile for Odorizzi to actually do “it”. Guerra (2016), Gallardo (2015 and many other years), Suter gave a spark a year ago. Plenty of reason to believe in those three already in house guys over acquiring Odorizzi and basically being stuck with giving him starts no matter his performance. You said “light a candle and say a prayer” about those guys but that’s exactly what the Twins are doing by acquiring Odorizzi.
  12. This thread ain’t titled opening day lineup there buddy. It’s why if the 2016 Villar shows up, it makes a lot of sense to get him on top.
  13. It’ll all be alright. You may not be okay with those guys but either Stearns is and wants to see which one of them comes out of the mix or he will add as there are still a ton of free agents still available. Not sure why you are so damn hung up on Odorizzi. At best you’re tossing in another guy that is very comparable to what we already have at camp. Just like Stearns said, if they are going to add it actually has to improve their team. Brewers front office doesn’t believe this move would’ve moved the needle.
  14. 10 of his 28 starts in 2017 went for less than 5 innings or 35%. Anderson Davies Chacin Woodruff (better than Ordorizzi now and in the future) Guerra (opening day starter a year ago, lighting it up in offseason.)
  15. There will be no point at which I'd trust villar to be good villar or even stay good villar in the 2018 season. He can fight his way up to 6th. If he bats in the top 5 there better be a rest day or an injury. Silly statement. If and it’s a huge IF, Villar plays at 2016 level where he’s getting on base 37% of the time it would be silly to not use that table setting presence on top of your lineup. Speed puts pressure on the D and creates runs which he was one of the best at that in 2016. Chances are that 2016 was a fluke but if not, it’s a game changer for this lineup.
  16. For me, it’s about avoiding black holes in the lineup. Our 1-6 should be scary this year. Our 7-9 (obviously pitcher spot) could flat out suck. I’m not sold that Pina is 110-115 gamer that can repeat the offensively display and Vogt doesn’t belong on the 25 if he plays defense the way he did at the end of the year.
  17. -Russell Martin caught 80 games a season ago, is terrible and will be 35. -Joe Mauer? That’s your comp? He’s not a catcher. Lol next. -Grandal? Sign me up! If Luc could be had for cheap for two seasons it’s a no brained because Vogt is a turd defensively. Is Lucroy an ex-Brewer? Yeah I think we all know and have established that but for some that has no effect on why I’d like to see us add Luc. Generalizing people is not a great idea. Oh and of course we need more pitching but we can still upgrade other parts of our team. When the catchers spot becomes a second pitcher hitting by June or it’s a merry go round out there because Vogt bounces every throw, we can revisit this.
  18. It could depend on what Villar shows up this year. Good Villar: Villar Yelich Braun Shaw Cain Santana Otherwise: Cain Yelich Braun Shaw Santana
  19. Maybe. Maybe not though. You know about as much as I do so please don’t pretend otherwise.
  20. Would you publicly slurp up someone you are competing with for a job? he’s isn’t competing with those two by any means. He may think he is but those two are penciled in as 2/3rd’s of the OF.
  21. Had this thought last night as well. Thames/Aguilar would be good for them.
  22. Broxton calling Yelich and Cain “solid” players is a bit funny. You have to think he’s hoping to be traded.
