How Will Mike Matheny "Manage" the Last Brewer Series?
pacopete4 replied to Dead Simmons's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
Is Matheny managing for his job next year? He seems like a good candidate to be fired as they have finished worse each season over the last five years. -
Would be much nicer if we won games by 5-6 runs and didn't need any clutch hits. I completely agree.
-
I don't think being a leader and producing are really much of the same. Would it be nice if he came through in the clutch throughout the weekend, of course. But doubt it makes him any less of a leader to that team.

Cook vs. Bennett: Did we sign the right player?
pacopete4 replied to CheezWizHed's topic in Other Sports
Give it time. Bennett will make his mark. If Cook didn't make that catch against the Cowboys, I would already have forgotten his name. -
If we do sign Walker (can't see it happening) then I want Villar moved back to a super utility guy. Put him all over the diamond and get him acclimated all over. Perez can do the same thing and if we had two of them, even with injuries we should be covered all year long. As nice of a story as Sogard has been this year, I'm over him in our lineup.

How Will Mike Matheny "Manage" the Last Brewer Series?

Trying to stay positive but it is so hard when you have the history that has been between these two teams. It's really hard to not think that the Cards will figure out a way to win at least one game. -

Such a great scene to see Arcia working a walk and Phillips knocking him in with a double. #TheFutureisHere
-
Someone steal Drake's glove and cleats so he can't be used again please. Man oh man did we get lucky.
-
Seasons on the line and Drake goes in to pitch? Counsell, get bent.
-
Played with fire having Suter pitch a thrid time around. He just doesn't have the stuff to do it. Not sure what the heck we are thinking here.
-
Suter is just a battler. Gives you everything he has and it shows. Hoping we figure out a good starting 5 with him as the long man for next season. He can fill in for injuries.
-
First two men on and our 3-4-5 do what they've been doing so well as of late and not batted in runs. So frustrating.

Per TH Twitter - CC on #Brewers leaving for St. Louis later: "I told the guys last night to pack for 10 days. Or you can pack for 3 and run out of clothes." This guy would fit right in on this thread.
-
I would have loved to see Phillips get an at bat with bases loaded in that situation. Cedar takes too many bats out of people’s hands.
-
I mean it seems that way but he's got an .835 OPS over the last 30 days. Not Braun level but well above average. Braun has been alright but it’s felt as though when we’ve needed the big hit, he hasn’t come through. I have loved that he’s played pretty much everyday though. Hopeful sign for next year.
-
He may just not be very good.
-
I’m starting to become very unimpressed with Woodruff. Maybe we do need a free agent or two for next year.
-
Come on Woodruff. Keep the ball in the ballpark.
-
Lol it’s almost as if the MLB doesn’t want us in this race. What a crock of poo. As I type that another horrible “strike” call on Shaw. Ridiculous
-
Umpire strikes again. Helping out Homer on that 2-0 to Braun.
-
You can’t just lay over a fastball to a guy like Votto. Just too good of a hitter for that. Put it on a corner or walk him and go after the next guy.
-
...and that last Reds series. Killer. Not sure how I forgot that one. Yes. That one too.
-
Even one of those Cubs or the last Pirates game are playing so large now. Not trying to remind anyone of that heartbreak but it just stinks that even one of those three games didn't go our way.
-
3-run bomb for the Rockies in the 2nd to put them up 3-0. Not... looking... good.
