They are 4-6 over their last 10. If the Brewers (or Cardinals) do their job of winning out, it'll be a very interesting finish.

After looking at the free agent catchers to be, I'll take Pina and Vogt back in a heartbeat. Unless Lucroy wants to crawl back on a huge discount looking to rebound. Is CC Sabathia a free agent? Let's sign him to replace Nelson.

Can't argue the fact that the bullpen to start the season was a huge mess, but I have no issue with how Stearns went about it. In the "rebuild" position the Brewers were/are in, there didn't seem to be a need to spend money that part of the team. Feliz was taken in hopes to become a deadline deal. Had he known that this team would even sniff contention, the bullpen would have been constructed differently. I would expect this offseason the BP will be a much higher priority. Yeah, I can get on board with that thinking. I just hate wasted seasons. I mean, I get it, we are/were "rebuilding" and so it is pretty easy to just punt the season but baseball is a crazy game (as we see this season) and the right mixture of players etc... can go on and find themselves in a playoff hunt. Hopefully, this is thought about more in the future when thinking about offseason needs. That's all I'm really asking for with it. Either way, it was good to see this addressed as they further moved through the season. It would have been nice to do it earlier but that just doesn't seem to be the way the trade market plays itself out these days.

Agreed adambr2. He has done so many great things already as the GM of the Brewers and it's very exciting to see but this is one area that could have really helped the Brewers lock down or move towards a playoff spot. I will say though that sometimes the fit of a player is more important. I mean a guy like Wilson in CHI or Jeffress in TEX are great examples of good pitchers but most likely not fitting into whatever those organizations are doing. So I guess I see both sides where if we did sign Neshek, he could've sucked for us just like Wilson is doing for CHI. But he also could've been great. Just so many variables. All I hope for is that Stearns and co. put a lot more into the bullpen coming next season. Too many guys this year were just thrown out there to see what sticks. That's where this mess really started.

I think some of those rules are in place to give guys opportunities to get on teams that will actually play them rather than being stashed on a roster all season and possibly never being activated. Not saying I disagree with you on your thinking but I believe that was the intended purpose.

Again. You cap it at 60 seconds. If it can't be determined in 60 seconds, you go with the call on the field. They are already taking a minute just to have the guy in the clubhouse wait and see if they should challenge the call anyway every single time. Yes, I agree here. If you can't see it in 60 seconds then play on and it is what it is.

Why can't the MLB just hire a larger group of "umpires" to watch games as they are being played? There could be some way for this umpire to buzz in on a close play that looks wrong. They get 30-60 seconds. If it can't be decided by then, you move on with the game. Instant replay was never and should never be something that holds up play. It really has become tiresome and like others have mentioned, even then they don't always get the play right after the review anyways. This would at least keep the pace of play going. Nothing worse than a game being derailed by a review.

Cobb is a nice pitcher but since missing a full season his strikeouts dropped from in the 8's per 9 to in the 6's per 9. We would be signing him at age 30 (he's never hit 200 innings in his career) and moving forward. That'd not terribly old but it is heading to the wrong end of it. I just would hate for us to go out at sign some 30+-year-old guy and we trek down the same path we have been on when trying to fill out our rotations. It really handcuffs a lot of the moves you can make. Not completely dismissing Cobb but just something to think about when we bring up guys like him.

Yeah that injuries sure have become an annoyance to watching Packers seasons play out. Just feels like every year its a pretty big handful of players that get hurt and usually miss large chunks or the full season. We need to look at our training staff and/or who we are targeting for players.

Could these games bet a part of that flex ticket price thing? It would be risky but you could sell Cubs games completely separate and at a much higher price. This does sound pretty dumb as I am typing it though lol. -

The Pina injury may be one of the biggest yet. Such a good defender and has some big hits on the season.

Agreed. Phillips for his defense alone would be the better play today.
