  1. I think Braun is in it to win it. His bat is heating up and we all remember what happened the last time we sat Braun as he was heating up. Ice cold! Also, maybe he realizes that his opportunities at a post season are limited and the time is now. Earn that $$$$
  2. I can't believe I'm defending this but he adds speed and a .351 OBP (.814OPS) vs LHP.
  3. All because there's no DH and he's not athletic and too clumsy to run the bases.
  4. http://archive.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/90317417.html This link is old but it is him talking about breaking even in years and budgeting for a losing money season.
  5. Waking up to that number being 1 instead of 2. Today's gonna be a good day!
  6. I'm not letting the Cubs ruin this effort from the Brewers for me. Not gonna let them. Come on Giants!
  7. I have bagged on Stearns for his (lack of) a bullpento begin the year and I'll praise him for that acquisition. What a find. Hopefully he loves it in MKE and wants to continue with us on this trek to the top.
  8. Such a sweet swing for Braun there. Didn't try to do too much. DP ball to end it though, crap! Just can't string em together.
  9. I think I'm adding things up right that the Brewers are 15-7 with Vogt as their starting catcher. Pretty solid...
  10. Yeah but are the Reds laying down for them or not? Makes a difference.
  11. No running on that cannon! Get out of this one Anderson.
  12. Holy cow. Stop. Can I get mod status so I can get this crap the heck out of here? Make Brewersfan.net great again!! This place is just straight up turds lately. Get over it. And yourself. No. Posts like you keep doing are dragging this place to its grave. It's pathetic.

  14. Awesome that the game thread gets ruined on a daily basis. Playoff push and there's like 3 pages of petty crap that goes back and forth. Make a point and move on. Stop freaking out and repeating yourself 100 times.
  15. Ryan Braun, age 31-33 (2015-2017) - 140 Games played, 135, ~100 Tony Gwynn, Sr., age 31-33 (1991-1993) - 134, 128, 122 (110 in 1994) Kirby Puckett, age 31-33 (1991-1993) - 152, 160, 156 (AL player; 108 in 1994) Ken Griffey, Jr. age 31-33 (2000-2003) - 145, 111, 70 (All with Cincinnati) Robin Yount, age 31-33 (1987-1989) - 158, 162, 160 (AL...but he wasn't the DH!) Barry Bonds, age 31-33 (1995-1998) - 144, 158, 159 (112 in 1994...must have been a bad year for outfielders! Note: July Birthday, which makes deciding on the years a bit tougher) Gary Sheffield, age 31-33 (2000-2003) - 141, 143, 135 Andruw Jones, age 31-33 (2008-2010) - 75 (+11 AAA), 82 (+3 AA), 107 Vladimir Guerrero, age 31-33 (2006-2008) - 156, 150, 143 (100 +2 in 2009) Rickey Henderson, age 31-33 (1990-1992) - 136, 134, 117 No cherry-picking here; if I thought to look up a player, I listed him. (I did skip Cal Ripken...for the obvious reason.) Tried to stick to outfielders, since they're the easiest comparison. Not surprisingly, there's not much of a consistent pattern. Most guys in their early 30s start taking some games off. (All I did was start looking up players on Fangraphs; feel free to add your own names to the list.) Hey thanks! I'm lazy... Interesting stuff.
  16. Holy hell man. This is a message board and a game thread at that. It's called discussion. It can happen. Are people wrong? Sure. But people are right too. Either way, wowzers.
  17. He really hasn't been injured all too often when you think about it. Yeah, he missed a bit this season and in 2013 but every other season he has played 135 games or more. He has been banged up but still has managed to play quite a bit over his career. missing close to 30 games a year on average is a lot of lost time for a guy who is our STAR player and basically our franchise player. It'd be interesting to see something over each teams "star" player and how many games per year they play, AL vs NL, taking in consideration age too. I bet his games played would be pretty good in that department.
  18. Speed only kills if it gets on base. Neither of those two has done enough of that to warrant being atop the lineup yet.
