  1. Just so damn funny.
  2. Sorry, but comparing Thames 3yr/$16mil contract is not a great comparison when speaking of a possible $40mil contract. Reading into his away stats vs. home stats and I came across the following: He has thrown 248 innings in Coors and posted a 5.11 ERA/1.570 WHIP over those innings. Not good. Now when you look at his stat line away from Coors it reads: 3.29 ERA/1.338 WHIP Better. Those numbers look great but if you look at the ballparks he has pitched in most frequently: 1. Dodger Stadium- 47 innings 2. PetCo Park- 44 innings 3. Citi Field- 17 innings 4. Citizens Bank Park- 16 innings 5. PNC Park- 12 innings 6. Target Field- 10 innings Five of those six stadiums are major pitcher parks. So, of course, his numbers are going to go down a bit. I guess all I'm saying is that he's had the crappiness of pitching in Coors Field but also the benefit of also pitching frequently in pitchers parks quite often as well.
  3. Sorry but this doesn't come off well. Of course, if we toss $40 mil to this guy people are going to question it because he really hasn't earned it on the field. He may pan out to being a very good pitcher away from Coors Field but its far from definite. Paying a guy that is a question mark $40mil when you have in-house options for league minimum should get the fans talking.
  4. I'll take the same stance I did in another thread. Adding a starting pitching, whether it is Chatwood or not, should mean that we move on from a guy like Chase Anderson then. We just have too many young arms that need the opportunity next season to fill out our rotation. If we clog up our rotation with guys like Chatwood, then we are never going to figure out whether Woodruff, Burnes, Hader, Wilkerson, Jungmann, Derby (and probably more that I'm not thinking of), are legitimate pitchers.
  5. Yes, this very well could happen and we could be stuck like 70% of the rest the league and not have a good quarterback. That being said, you just never know who the next guy will be and what he will be surrounded with. I don't particularly think Russel Wilson is that great but he's good enough to win a SB and play in another. There are just too many variables to say that after Rodgers retires, it'll be downhill. People thought that of when Favre was nearing the end too.
  6. 2 out of 3, let's go! If we did happen to sweep, boy would this weekend series be an interesting one.
  7. Yeah, I wouldn't be concerned with the loss too much. It is a hard place to win at with a team of full health. Not only that but like others have posted, there were some swing plays that were either horribly officiated or we just did not step up and make the play. Do those sound like excuses? They sure are but sometimes it's just the reality of it. I do hope we have finally learned the lesson of playing Randall against a good WR. He just can't do it. He is not athletic enough. They drafted King for a reason (tall, length, strong), so let him play and learn how to cover those guys.
  8. Playing meaningful games and actually winning meaning games. That can't be sold short in this equation.
  9. Couldn't agree more. We can't control other teams and this Brewers team just keeps rising to the call. If they continue to win 2 of 3 the rest of the way out and miss the playoffs, well it is what it is.
  10. The Cardinals are even more annoying now that we actually wanted them to win a game or two and they couldn't even do that for me.
  11. Tigers Matthew Boyd has a no-no through 8 innings in case anyone hasn't seen that.
  12. It always felt as though we smashed left-handed pitching but I went and looked at the splits and our numbers are actually worse. Maybe that's because Braun usually pulverizes them but either way, I enjoy our other lineup so much more than when we trot out Broxton and Perez.
  13. I just wish Perez wasn't a for sure start against a lefty. Just so tired of him.
  14. Maybe the trades that have helped set up the future? IDK.
  15. Although their nonconference schedule was pretty terrible, the West division in the B10 might be just as bad. There is no reason this team shouldn't be headed back to Indy. The question will be is will they be undefeated going into with a shot at being one of the top 4 playoff teams?
  16. I just listed you MY reasons. You may disagree with them, I'm good with that. Continuing to spew the "how is this even debatable" line doesn't come off well. Learn to agree to disagree with people. It won't kill ya, I promise. I typed that last one and hit post before your list of reasons came up which I will respond to. Patience please. No need. I know your feelings. Save your time and effort.
  17. And that run never would've come across if Counsell hadn't wasted his challenge on something unwinnable. I get that he wasted it but I've seen other managers still go out and talk the umpires into reviewing the call. Not sure why this didn't happen.

  19. Nice to see Garza have some success. Yeah he gave up a run but threw it well tonight.
  20. Why? Braun isn't a special player anymore, and that trade would have both made us better and reduced payroll. Here is my list of reasons: 1. Braun is having a down year statistically sure, but he'll be fine moving forward I believe. I know you will tell others that he's not a "special" player anymore until you are blue in the face but I'm just not convinced that this window is completely closed. 2. I couldn't care less about the $20 million owed to him because to me, it's not blocking the Brewers from doing pretty much anything they want financially. Also, it's not my money and I believe fans make more of players salaries for what reason, I do not know. 3. I cannot stand Puig. I don't want him in a Brewers uniform. Never did. 4. McCarthy has no spot on this team either. He's not good and often injured. All he would have done is block younger guys from getting a crack at the rotation like Garza has. 5. If the prospect(s) were worth anything in this deal, Stearns would've pulled the trigger. Since he didn't, this trade is completely worthless in my eyes. The "window" may have been there due to Braun's no-trade clause coming into effect but I just don't feel an appropriate trade was even out there to be had. Hence why I am happy he's still a Brewer and I'm excited to see him help this young wave of players turn this franchise into a winner.
  21. I love Stearns, but he missed his window on that one. And I'm glad he did.
  22. Maybe going to Garza wouldn't of been a bad strategy. Dang Davies. Not the time.
