  1. I thought Yelich was going to have one of those moments last night until he whiffed on two right down the middle. It happens but I just thought it was time.
  2. To be fair, those that mentioned a lack of power previous to his 2nd half hot spell had a point. (I believe people mentioned lack of a proper launch angle.) He has proved people wrong in a lot more ways than one this season.
  3. I don’t get the throw it in your face that you were wrong bumps and posts. Granted we all could use work on not being so definite in our posts but this stuff seems petty and not great for the boards. Not only that but this is a forum built on speculation and opinion. Everyone will get it wrong here and there. Just my two cents.
  4. I mean he did just turn 24. Are we writing off 24 year olds? I will say he does seem like the dramatics. Shows a lot of flash for not a lot of great play.
  5. While Yelich isn’t exactly a game changer on offense it is nice to have a guy that is consistently getting on base and plays good defense. I don’t think I’d reverse it because I wasn’t really high on any of the prospects given up.
  6. The game just doesn’t have enough growth to keep adding these programs. Not only that but absolutely no one shows up to these games even though they are free. You just cannot sustain that and really shouldn’t have to.
  7. They should be able to add men’s hockey without adding women’s. Add another women’s sport without adding hockey.
  8. Iowa might not be too much longer. New arena going in close to campus that will have a new ushl team but could also hold a D1 program. It’ll be interesting.
  9. Imagine if he didn’t hit [sarcasm]22[/sarcasm] home runs against us.
  10. Brooklyn 9-9 is headed to NBC. Last Man Standing headed to Fox.
  11. yup, I haven't watched this season though, all on the dvr. Plan to binge it this summer. I have really enjoyed this series. I'm excited for you to see the current direction. Edge of my seat with last nights show. It felt like I watched an hour long movie. Really hope the Fox - Disney merger doesn't kill this show. It would be an absolute shame.
  12. Anyone watch Gotham? I’m a Batman guy, this show seemed to have no direction at times but this season has been awesome.
  13. Agreed. While it wasn’t like their first, it stands alone. Very, very funny. Happy for those guys to follow up what they did the first time around as they seem like quality guys.
  14. Yelich is the player we are trying to move towards while Ozuna feels like the player we are moving away from.
  15. Badger fan number one but my Alma mater UMD Bulldogs just pulled off a mini miracle to win the national championship. Crazy. Probably shouldn’t of even been in the tourney.
  16. Season two of Sneaky Pete was good but not quite as good as season one for me.
  17. The new Far Cry game looks like it might be a lot of fun. Comes out March 27th.
  18. What are some peoples favorite shows out there? I just finished the first season of Sneaky Pete and I am very excited to see the second season drop this Friday.
  19. I like Barstool. Granted they get a bit much at times but they don’t back away from calling things what they are or calling BS on certain things and I enjoy that. Yelich seems like a good dude though.
  20. Lol, sure. Must be why they are looking at all those “TOR” guys presently. Dang you Ryan Braun! Darvish isn’t a Brewer because well, we are the Brewers and he doesn’t want to be there. It’s okay. We will survive. We don't know if that holds true anymore. Lorenzo Cain could have been our one and only FA splash. Most likely true but that’s not because of a lack of money.

  22. Then both of you should be up in arms about the Cain signing. He won’t be worth by year 4-5 either. Brewers bought out highly productive years to basically pay for them now. That’s the MLB. Oh well. It’s a chance they took. We will find out if he can at least be a 2WAR player to make his contact okay the last couple years.
  23. It’s been overstated so many times that Braun’s contract hurts us. Well it didn’t stop us from adding over $20M to our outfield for years to come a few days ago. Not only that but if 1WAR = $8M, I think Braun will probably do alright in getting the value out of that contract. Also you may want to check out who the Cardinals are paying money to over there in St. Louis. Lol Sure it does. Are you saying if we had the chance to be free and clear of Braun's contract in exchange for not having him anymore, you wouldn't take it? There would be no reason to trade Santana, you would still be loaded in the OF, and you'd have more than enough money to go after Darvish or Arrieta and still have a ton of flexibility to make other moves. Right now, they could probably still make such a move but would be approaching the limit of what they'll probably be willing to spend. Any way you slice it, $20M spent is $20M less in spending power that you have. I am not saying Braun's contract is a disaster, although I disagree that we're going to get the value out of his remaining 3 years and $61M. He's projected for 1.5 WAR in 2018 and that number is certainly trending downward. If they wanted to go get a pitcher, they could go get one. Braun isn’t stopping that just like he didn’t stop the latest two acquisitions. The Brewers knew their financial “spending power” and have a way better idea of what that is than any poster we have. No real debating it anymore. The same people who bag on Braun and his contract have been saying the same things on repeat and yet, here we are, spending. We worry more about pennies around here. It’s cute, but it’s old and tiresome.

  25. I think with the moves happening at the same time it’s hard not to talk about both.
