  1. I don't think people would say too much about the food taste if it wasn't so over priced. That's not changing but if you're going to sell $10 nachos, then they better be really good. Not out of the can cheese with some beef tossed on top.
  2. Another loss that could've been a win. Not too many games they didn't have an opportunity to win this year. I guess that's the positive.
  3. Because most live in the grass is always greener elsewhere world.
  4. Doesn't feel like we've been great with RISP lately. The ebbs and flow of the season sure can be frustrating. Nice to see Feliz have a clean inning there. Let's win one late tonight.
  5. I think Santana lost that one. Nelson is just bad today so far. Gonna need the Brewers offense to put up 10 or so.
  6. “The plan is to consistently win major league games over a period of years,” he said. “If that process begins a little bit sooner than people expected, that’s great. And we’ll react accordingly. But it doesn’t change our strategy; it doesn’t change our plan.” Could we read into this being that they may make a move for this years team? The rest of it reads like many want with a complete rebuild no matter what but I found this comment interesting.
  7. What are you using to define the 'top' starting pitchers? Randy Johnson had an ERA of 5.00 in 2006. Take him out and your number drops from 29.2 to 28.1. Maybe I shouldn't of laughed, but I did. I think he's just finding the oldest, dustiest players he can with name recognition and hoping people buy it. Pitchers primes are not 30.
  8. My thoughts are how in the world are we to know what either of them are thinking? I get that you are speculating but there just no basis for anything said about either of them, let alone speculating the a "battle" is brewing between them.
  9. I'll take him over a couple of them.
  10. Why? When the entire roster is hitting over .750, top prospects really should have video game type numbers. Not true. A good chunk of them are but either way expecting every player to go through there and OPS 1.000 is silly to me. If you based your judgement of a player just on his AAA stats, then you're not a very good evaluator. Which was my point to your comment of Brinson being only 5th on the team in OPS. If the Brewers feel he's done his work enough in AAA, and they have a role for him at the major league level, whether he is 1st or 10th in OPS really doesn't make much difference.
  11. We really have to stop expecting the baseline of video game results for our players in Colorado.
  12. Sometimes I am a little shocked at the impatience I see on here. Sometimes when you have young guys you need to ride it out with them and allow them to get the experience and grow.
  13. Lots of fortune tellers around here. I love it. Even if I think you're writing, it's fun to think about. I do agree with Ender. There are more than one way to do this. I think that's what I like about Stearns so far. He trades for young guys, prospect type high upside and then he goes and gets guys like Thames, Shaw, Broxton, etc.
  14. They may have brought their numbers up recently. But in three years in the system, Clark has underperformed relative to where he was drafted. He does not project to be as good as Santana, Broxton, Brinson, Phillips or Cordell. How does Clark not project as well as Brinson, Broxton, Phillips or Cordell? At this point in their 20 year old seasons, Brinson, Broxton, and Phillips were all still in A ball, Clark is in A+. Cordell was having a mediocre sophomore season in college. I can understand being underwhelmed with Ray, as he's 26 months older than Clark and only a few months younger than Brinson and Phillips, but Clark is someone we should be really excited about as he continues to improve despite being really challenged. Because he wanted a pitcher with that pick.
  15. I would love to just see Villar get on base like he did a year ago. That will solve everyone's worrries.
  16. Cravy comes up for an off day, back down the next. Can't imagine he's too pleased.
  17. I hope Stearns calls them out.
  18. I'm surprised they didn't wait another day on Braun with an off day tomorrow.
  19. Just because you don't sell in July doesn't mean you can't in December. If this teams in the mix, let's get after it. Have to change our history of being a bunch of losers at some point.
  20. Two years of hot garbage because he was injured off and on. Healthy he is a very good pitcher and he's showing that this season. His overall body of work trumps two bad years of issues for me. Not saying we don't trade him but say we have the lead we currently do on July 20th, and Garza is still pitching like this, no way do I trade him.
  21. Does that open a spot on the 40? Or was that taken by Espino already?
  22. When is Guerra's last rehab start? Might determine a lot. I said it in the game thread but I'll repeat here. He was fine but didn't look like he was anything special. Soft tosser like Davies that needs his control to be almost perfect for success. Can see why it took 10 years to get here. Happy for him though.
  23. Villar isn't going anywhere. lol I swear this stuff gets more comical by the day.
