  1. This could be a very interesting trade for the Brewers. Hard to gauge the market on this one in terms of what he is actually worth. After seeing what Estrada has done in Toronto the past two seasons, it sure would be nice to capitalize on Guerra and get a good return back.
  2. I disagree with just about everything you have said. Has Rodgers been special? Of course. Is it overblown in how bad his play has been the last 20 games? Absolutely. But there have been a lot of other good players for the Packers. This season is not the one you make a definitive statement on a guy like Ted Thompson. As much as I would like to see him step aside and let Wolf take over, you have to give him credit for building rosters each and every year that ARE good enough to win Super Bowls. This year, maybe not. But I would've liked to see what this team looked like had the injury bug not hit them. I think they'd be winning the division right now looking to gather steam towards the playoffs.
  3. Badgers played about as selfish as I've ever seen. Happ was just flat out awful. If all it takes is dropping a second man to Happ for our out team to fall apart, I don't see much hope in this season.
  4. If there was, he'd already be a Dodger. The deal was basically set. How do you know? How do you know? Reports from shortly after the deadline stating that they were a player away from the deal. If it were that simple, he'd be a dodger.
  5. There is a chance, of course. But a really high probability? I doubt it. If there was, he'd already be a Dodger. The deal was basically set. Now, maybe by Winters Meetings the free agent market doesn't open up and they will be willing to ship some talent this way but I wouldn't say there is a high probability. At least in my opinion.
  6. I never believe these type of comments. Of course there is a panic mode that they are in. They feel it. Will it matter? That will be played out over the next couple of weeks.
  7. Couldn't agree more. He should be our 4th/5th OF, backup 1B to go into the season. Give this guy a look and maybe, just maybe he's our 1B to fill the gap. Plus stealing one from the Cardinals would be oh so sweet.
  8. If it's any consolation, good there's a chance he won't be a Brewer by then.
  9. I like giving Counsell the feel good security of the contract. If things go sour, hopefully they can work through that to keep him around the Brewers front office. Not my money to toss around so good for him.
  10. Trade away everyone of talent in the minors for the best players you can possibly get back at the major league level. I'd start with pitching. As much of it as I could.
  11. The next two weeks will tell us a lot of where the Packers stand in the mix of making the playoffs (at WAS, at PHI). If they can right the ship in the next two weeks, there's hope. If they can't, I'm hoping they tank and get a good draft spot to hopefully get an impact player on defense and move on from the likes of Clay Matthews who can't seem to be healthy anymore and is going to make $10M plus.
  12. Pass. It just doesn't make a lot of sense for the Brewers right now.
  13. Nice opening win for the Badgers tonight.
  14. That just simply isn't true. He called out the entire team. What do you expect? Wasn't just referring to this game. He's laid blame on plenty of players, coaches, ect... in the past. I'm not even saying he's wrong just wondering what his leadership skills are in the locker room, practice field, before games, ect... He even deflected some of the low energy blame because he's not a "raw, raw" guy. Maybe he and Clay just need to replay their State Farm commercial before the game to the team. Get the juices flowing a bit.
  15. Can this thread go away? It's time to turn the page to the 2017 season. GO BREWERS!
  16. 4-4 while not in a great spot playoff wise, definitely not out of it since Minnesota's momentum came screeching to a halt. Yes, Detroit is winning games as of late but they really don't scare me much. This team still has a fine chance at winning the division if they can get it together and stay afloat until the final three games of the season (at Bears, vs. Vikings, at Lions). I am more concerned with Rodgers stating that there is a lack of effort/energy being put into the games. He seems to want to sheepishly call out guys after games but is he doing anything during practice? Before games? ect... It's just not a good sign when you hear things like this directly after a loss. I do have a question, can the Packers cut Matthews in the offseason and save a bunch of money? I would rather they move on from him as he and Rodgers have become the "douchey duo" of the NFL and draft the OLB position and maybe look for a buy low type guy. I think he's a fine player if healthy but from the looks of it, he'll make over $10M the next two seasons for Green Bay. I just don't think he's worth that money for the production we get.
  17. If you widen the strike zone, they'll just use longer bats. Then we should really consider holding onto Braun. He already uses a longer bat. He would be use to it already.
  18. Indians are a joke. That scrub team has finally hit the wall.
  19. Fan, short for fanatic. Every team has their extreme's with their fan base but it just feels like the Packers are the rich kid who has been told no and doesn't like it, throwing fits and making a fool of themselves. McCarthy is a very good to great head coach. We've been lucky to have a couple of Mike's lead us back to Super Bowl's and win them. Ted Thompson, while we can all pick and choose things to point out against him, his teams have been very good over his tenure. He's given his teams enough talent to win the Super Bowl unfortunately it just hasn't clicked at the right time or gotten the right breaks in the past couple of seasons.
  20. Gut feeling. Cubs finally get to Kluber a bit tonight. Score 3 runs early and Indians never match it. Hate it. Cannot stand it one bit to have to see them celebrate a World Series tonight. Makes my stomach turn.
  21. On the final drive, other than the first down pass, Rodgers went back to being win it all with one pass again. Should've dinked and dunked their way to at least the 50, using their timeouts before taking deeper shots. Plenty of time with 30 seconds left and two timeouts from your 25.
  22. Meh, this is where you lose me on this. He may want to win in 2017 but I doubt, highly doubt, that he would agree with this statement. He just has a different way to rebuild a roster. Doesn't make him wrong and it sure as hell doesn't make you right.
  23. Part of the reason I don't enjoy physically going to football games is because I watch men stand around longer than I actually watch them play. You never realize how much down time there is in a football game until you are there in person when you don't have commercials or something going on around the house to distract you. It amazes me that football players get winded.
  24. Love this. Just love it. I hope they win it at wrigley
  25. I am flipping excited for Badgers basketball this season! Should be a fun ride.
