  1. If they play like the did against Philly, they will win the division.
  2. I enjoy this signing partially because Briggs gets pooped on a lot on this forum. Nice to see him hit the mark on this one. [sarcasm]Maybe now we can move on from the Khris Davis banter?!?[/sarcasm]
  3. [sarcasm]1. Sign Eric Thames 2. DFA Chris Carter 3. Sign Counsell to at least a 3 year deal.[/sarcasm]
  4. The defense only gave up 13 points on the road in Philly. Philly was leading the league in points at home. Gotta give them credit for sticking their nose in there and keeping this game out of reach even if Philly is banged up at the receiver position, they still played better.
  5. While it does stink that we won't get to watch those towering bombs of last year, this move makes all too much sense. Some fans will whine and complain because it is a money saving move in a year where they don't have much money spent but it all adds up in the end and could be put towards a more productive player. It will be interesting to see if Domingo is asked to try to play there or not. Some players are very hesitant to do this type of thing but I only see the positive in it. Maybe he becomes a decent defensive first basemen and all of a sudden you are more valuable because you can play a corner OF and a 1B. Doesn't hurt to try it.
  6. Badger football. Every time I start to think they may take the next step and put themselves in the mix of the best teams in the nation they do what they're doing right now and play absolutely atrocious. How embarrassing. Canceling my trip to Indy and I'll save some cash.
  7. Just move Braun back. Happy thanksgiving everyone.
  8. Really fun matchup early in the season between the Badgers and North Carolina tomorrow night (Weds). Should be a good test to an experienced Badgers team.
  9. Nope. It's not. But for a long time the players were getting to small a piece of the pie. Don't try that BS putting words in peoples mouths. The owners have been fat cats for far too long paying little in salary, in building stadiums, etc...
  10. [sarcasm]Gee, you mean a slightly above average middle reliever would not make $7.5M/yr. Yeah..that would be a shame.[/sarcasm] I'm okay with these guys making as much money as possible. The owners definitely do no need to be lining their pockets with even more money than they already are.
  11. If they get a player for him, isn't that real value? While I bag on Scooter frequently, he still probably is a starting 2B in the MLB. Do I want him on the Brewers? Heck no. But he'll find work somewhere if we move on from him.
  12. If you have the opportunity to snag a player that can play at a high level in the MLB, you take it. (Not sure this is the guy that can, but he is intriguing) Perez does not get on base enough to be a quality starter. But as a super utility, spot starter, injury filler, he's great. If we were to grab this guy and he fills the 3B role, all of a sudden Scooter doesn't even have to be on this team. I know you're concerned about lefty bats, and if this guy was a lefty, your tune would probably be different. But it has been pointed out several times that it does not matter what hand you bat as long as you hit right-handed pitching well.
  13. I'd have no issue with us taking a shot on this guy leaving Perez as super utility.
  14. I will say, as Edgar Bennett has moved up in the ranks, the offense has become less and less potent.
  15. He literally started 32/32 games in 2014/2015. Jeez... If it's not this offseason, it should be next. There is no doubt in my mind he's a performance enhancer guy that will continue to be banged up enough after an already 8 year career to miss parts of the season. No reason to pay a guy $15 mil (next season) and $11 mil the next for him being available for parts of the season. And when he's available, he's not even been the difference maker he once was. Let him be someone else's cap hit. Get some young, hungry OLB's that will actually get after the QB.
  16. I'd love to see a 11am & 6pm double header Sunday mixed into the schedule. What a great day for that and you could still have two gates to the games.
  17. Capers doesn't have much to work with this year because of injuries but I would still like to see a change in defensive coordinators in the off season. Couple that with TT hopefully stepping down (and assuming a scouting role) and allowing Elliot Wolf to take the reigns. This would be a big plus for me in the offseason. I would also like to see if the Packers could trade Matthews or just move on from him all together. No reason to spend $10-$12 million on a guy that is rarely available and disappears a lot of the time. Invest in the OLB position as the interior Dline is very good. I also am sick of our poor safety play. Those two just have too many mistakes to be counted on.
  18. Vikings and Lions win. Makes tonight all that much more important.
  19. How much is to believed with this Rodgers/family story and how much has it affected his play over the past couple of seasons? It's no ones business really but you know it is going to be talked about until he begins to play like the old Aaron.
  20. A pitcher who's service clock has already began? This rebuild needs more than one possible good pitcher. Maybe if some other guys have already shown they're ready to contend but we are just not there yet.
  21. I'm curious to this because he's never played first base in his pro baseball career.
  22. Plus it opens up more opportunities in the rotation for Peralta, Garza, Anderson, and Nelson. Hooray!
  23. I don't think it is that straight forward. I am sure there will still be another few teams that make some serious effort to try and work out a trade. I expect it to be Dodgers or bust, but I think there is a chance a different team could acquire him. Dodgers make the most sense by far, but just because they got close to a trade doesn't mean they are the only option. My statement was more towards the willingness of Braun to go to another team. The teams he has listed (Angels, Diamondbacks, Dodgers, Giants, Marlins and Padres) aren't prime trading partners for the Brewers. The Dodgers are the only ones who make realistic sense in this matter. At least to me.
  24. Dodgers or bust. It's fun to play what if but that's where I think this trade starts and ends.
  25. Lang and Ryan out this weekend already. Doesn't help the cause at all. Wonder if Matthews will be available?
