  1. I think Cobb is only overrated if people feel he should be running go routes and making big plays. Get the ball in his hands like Edelman, ect... and he's electric. Problem is Rodgers, other than last game, has been very stubborn and does not want to throw in rythym but hold the ball as long as he can and hit the deep ball. Not a realistic offense.
  2. So fire a coach that won, and won handily, without having a legitimate running back? Feels more like a poor GM and a very good coach.
  3. Building up the area could create a lot of jobs. It gets people to spend money. Maybe you need to check your economics. Gotta spend money to make money.
  4. The Packers just need to realize they have to transition from a deep ball team into a more short and intermediate team. Get the ball into the receivers hands and let them get some YAC!
  5. Boy, you sure are missing out on some good players if you don't want the Corey Hart's in your lineup.
  6. And yet, Green Bay is able to build a monstrous new area around Lambeau Field. A city of about 100,000 people. Don't buy it for a minute that it has to be in a downtown of a major city. If you build up an area and give people a reason to come there, they will. Titletown District: http://www.packers.com/news-and-events/article-press-release/article-1/Park-components-finalized-for-phase-one-of-Titletown-District/513660d7-47a0-431d-a3af-ab3e340ae30b
  7. With no disrespect to the Lambeau Leap Forum, there just is not enough traffic there to make a discussion worthwhile. I was hoping to keep this similar to what the Bucks thread has become for Packers talk. This team is 4-2 and has not exactly played all that well this year. Could this be one of those seasons like the Super Bowl run where things just start to click? I have heard a lot of talk about replacing McCarthy but I feel as though that would be a huge mistake. Packers fans are pretty spoiled when it comes to winning seasons, Super Bowls, QB play, ect...
  8. That's the tradeoff to having Miller Park surrounded by parking lots instead of downtown. Not saying one is superior to the other, just that a Cardinal-style development only makes sense in a dense urban setting. Sorry but I don't buy this as an excuse. There are ways to buy up and build around Miller Park that would make it much more of an experience to go to ball games and STILL keeping the tradition tailgating alive. This just falls under being a perennial loser and living in a small market in baseball. Exciting news for Cardinals fans and I guess baseball fans altogether though. Looks to be similar to what the Packers are doing around Lambeau.
  9. I just thought he was an interesting candidate for a trade but has some real big benchmarks to hurdle if he were to be traded. Like others have stated, he's an incredible bat that probably belongs in the AL towards the later part of his career and that he may already be exiting his prime years now with a lot of money left on the table.
  10. Votto will make $25M per year until the age of 41 (2024), has a full no trade clause but slashed .326/.434/.550/.985 last season while playing 150+ games. Now this is not a thread for the Brewers to trade for him but just more of a discussion of whether or not a team would even trade for him? A very good player who just has a ridiculous contract (more so because it goes through his age of 41).
  11. A weird paragraph because he's only played 2B in the Dodgers system. As great as it would be if he profiled at 3B, how do they even come to that conclusion?
  12. Braun should be paired with Guerra in the trade because their pitching staff isn't that good either.
  13. Castro against righties and Susac against lefties and it'll just be like Lucroy never left.
  14. Why would the Cubs move La Stella?
  15. I feel as though if he was on the table for that, the Brewers would've done that deal.
  16. This is refreshing to read because all I ever seem to hear is how the Cubs are set up to dominate for decades with no end in sight. So happy to see their playoff struggles. It's truly Christmas coming early. Hope it continues.
  17. Two very different situations with these players. One at the tail end of his career and the other would be trying to get one actually starting in the MLB. It would be nice to get Asche because of his age and he does provide a little left handedness to our team but he hasn't done much in his playing time so far. Hill might be the safer of the two for next season but is that really what next season is about? I lean towards giving Asche an opportunity even though he rarely played 3B as of late.
  18. Just out of curiosity, what makes you think this?
  19. Just start Erceg at AA next season and let the kid smack around that pitching for an entire year.
  20. Not enough talent in the league now for 30 teams with 25 man rosters
  21. Hopefully we can get Valencia and trade for Puig. Should be a fun 2017 season.
  22. Logan Forsythe had a 3.4 bWAR in 2016, and a 5.0 bWAR in 2015. Why are they looking to buy him out? Didn't look at WAR. Just looked at offensive stats and Scooter is somewhat comparable to him for a lot less money owed and younger. Same thing with Peralta vs. Smyly. Cheaper, younger, comparable numbers.
  23. I love that they are playing him there. Talk about a huge steal this guy could turn out to being. I watched him twice this last year and loved the swing and athletic ability.
  24. Rays Get: Wily Peralta ($4M), Scooter Gennett ($3M), bullpen arm Brewers Get: Casey Gillaspie, Drew Smyly ($7M) Ray's buyout: Logan Forsythe @ $1M (will cost them $8.5M otherwise)
  25. Man, I knew we shouldn't have drafted this guy! Get better Corey Ray! We'll see you in spring training.
