  1. Thanks for the breaking news. Re: What could Braun (or Braun/Thornburg) bring from the Dodgers? Report this post #101 Posted: September 10, 2016, 6:15 PM Post Sorry, missed that. Doesn't hurt to actually link an article, which post #101 didn't do. And thanks for the condescension. Sent from my XT1526 using Tapatalk I should've probably used blue. Was trying to be sarcastic. My bad.
  2. Still won't admit to the approach Counsell has take with playing time for our outfielders? They've all have flashes of success and done very well with how he's managed them. Young and older. No, because I don't agree that Broxton and Santana are only having success because Nieuwenhuis is constantly spelling them. These guys are young and (now) healthy, and don't need regular off days. I have no idea how you came up with the correlation that their success must be predicated on plenty of rest days. Villar looks just fine this year playing every day. Villar had prior experience to get him acclimated to the majors. Broxton did not. He stunk to start with and so you get him now in match ups Counsell feels he'll succeed in and has, for the most part. Santana is the same. Rushed up and has faltered. Now gets put in positions to have success. It's now always about playing every single day. They're getting enough at bats and will continue again next year.
  3. If we are taking back McCarthy then Garza must be moved. And/or Anderson. I don't want to see a rotation of: 1. Garza 2. Anderson 3. McCarthy 4. Davies 5. Guerra/Peralta
  4. I've seen enough from Villar at 2B. He should never leave there. Goodbye Scooter.

  7. Andrew Susac will by 27 by the time the next regular season begins. If next season isn't dedicated to him being the starter and proving his prospect status worth, then when would be? Seems very silly to have a guy like that go back down to AAA next season. He should be given the year to prove he is the next in line for that position.
  8. I just don't see why we would pay McCann the money he is owed for what he brings to the table. You can get similar production for a lot less money. A lot less. Plus he's going on 33 years old and his stats have already ticked downhill. Hard pass for those reasons plus he seems like a douche.
  9. I know you are passionate in your analysis but this is just over the top, looking for someone to call you out on it. Just stop it with this stuff. Briggs is a good poster and can defend himself, but I interpreted his comment as meaning that prior to Lucroy, the Brewers struggled at catcher. He wasn't including Lucroy. Being concerned about the catching position is a very valid concern. No his comment was completely over the top and really only stems from being upset Davis netted Nottingham, who he feels was not enough for Davis because he loves him. Which is fine but don't pout. The Brewers just sunk two higher picks into the catching position and like others have stated, Maldonado/Susac/Pina ect... are more that passable and better than a lot of what other teams have at the MLB level.
  10. No because then Attanasio will think we can compete next year and ruin the entire rebuild. Haha, fine.. fine. But it would be flipping awesome to see.
  11. Yeah he has some interesting stats that make him intriguing. I only got to watch him catch one game this year but his framing was rough for a pro catcher. If its not exactly where his target is, he's very loose in the wrists with his glove. Blocking seemed pretty solid and like you mentioned, his caught stealing rate is very good too. Next year should be fun to track him.
  12. So it's absurd to say the Davis trade looks pretty bad or pretty questionable after one season, but you can call Stearns a "beast" and say he had an "outstanding year" before a bunch of guys even play a game at the MLB level? Alright then. I think your both being absurd. Does that help?
  13. To me, the Brewers have two options moving forward: 1. Go 18-1 over their remaining 19 games to capture a winning season and secure 3rd place in the division. 2. Lose the remainder of their games to possibly get a top 3 pick in next years draft. I'll let them decide what they want to do.
  14. It was his first vs St Louis since his suspension. Man, that just seems crazy to me.
  15. A teacher buddy of mine at school who is a die-hard Cardinal fan said the announcers said that was the first home run that Braun has his against the Cardinals since his failed tests. This can't be true, can it? I feel like I've watched him hit homers.
  16. While I do agree with MrTPlush to some extent, I'm not sure that you could be anything but impressed with the job not only Stearns has done but also Doug Melvin. We always want to bang on Melvin for signing aging vets to attempt to keep our window open longer, we never really want to give him the credit he is due for the players we do/did have that will make this rebuild a quicker process than most teams that have to rebuild. Having Braun on his team friendly deal should allow us to move him, maybe, and if not, he's still bargain for what we get from him. Lucroy on the deal he had allowed us to get two high end players and another player that has some higher tools. And there is many more to list here that have helped this process out even more.

  18. Really wish the NL had a DH so we didn't even have to think of trading Braun. Look at fatty Ortiz and how long he's hit at a high level. Braun would be fun in that spot.
  19. Just out of curiosity why are you disappointed in the Lucroy trade?
  20. Howie Kendrick wouldn't be a bad throw in. Money is off the books after next year. Could be a flip candidate and can play LF, 2B and 3B.
  21. I'm happy for Jean but also very happy we have the players we have. Diaz looks to be an up and coming stud and Villar might not be on this team without the trade.
  22. McCarthy would basically be the money the Brewers have to eat($23mil). I guess there is a little potential he can pitch well and be flipped to save some of that money or get prospects, but I'd just assume not. He would be much like when we took on Aaron Hill. Puig has solid value and I'd guess the two minor leaguers are Top 10 organizational prospects. If they aren't I probably wouldn't take that deal and I'm not someone emotionally attached to Braun like a lot are. In such a trade we would be taking on a ton of money. Puig is a nice buy low, but I'd need two more promising players . Yeah if it included two top ten guys I'm on board. The Dodgers is one team I could still root for Braun as they are my second favorite team. Not that this matters to the Crew lol. Gavin Lux would be pretty cool to get back being from Wisconsin.
  23. Just curious but what exactly are you expecting? The current players are what they are. They are doin their best to win games and perform well. Unfortunately they are not good enough to consistently win. But on the flip side, they don't suck enough to always lose. It is what it is.
  24. Poor pitch calling to Wong. Drop a curve on his back there and that at bat is over. Pew, pee Brewers... pew!
