  1. Without knowing the minor leaguers in the Dodgers offer its hard but Puig and McCarthy do pretty much nothing for me.
  2. Perez ejected after Wainright gets a pitch a couple inches off the plate to end the inning. Good for Perez. Screw the Cardinals and the umpire.
  3. The Rattlers game in Cedar Rapids had 1,050 and they were doing everything but giving away tickets. Thursday night with school back in session. People lose interest fast.
  4. Yeah screw Counsell. How dare he continue to play Broxton, Niewenhuis and Santana at various times allowing them to be in positions to succeed at the MLB level. Fire him now.
  5. Some people see him as being a super sub guy as a downgrade to him and I see it as a huge positive. A guy that can move pretty much anywhere on the diamond and you are not hurt by their defense is very valuable. Especially if said player is OPS'ing above .750. If that's what Perez ends up being for this team, I will be very happy because I just don't see it as a starter on a good team. Needs to be able to get on base more or his slumps will be felt too much.
  6. Extensions are always tough because you'd like to do them while you can get a deal on the player, ie Braun/Lucroy but they don't always turn out to being good investments. It is truly what Mr. Stearns see's in Villar. If he believes he's the .800 plus OPS then he might consider it. But if he feels there will be a falling back to the pack next season and beyond, he'll probably hold off.
  7. Clark smoked two balls tonight for outs, as did Erceg and Gatewood. Box score doesn't tell the whole story as Diplan did well enough tonight to give his team a chance to win.
  8. And Corey Ray, who had a one out single in the 6th, was doubled off of first after a fly ball in the infield and Corey believing their was two outs.
  9. Corey Ray just singled in a run in the 3rd. Then picked off second. He's definitely a Brewer. I will say that his base coach didn't help him at all and Corey seemed pretty ticked off at his third base coach.
  10. Which he never griped about at all, moving to a position that wasn't his strength.
  11. Was really hoping to watch Diaz too. Stinks but understandable.
  12. I'm here in Cedar Rapids at the game hoping for a good one!
  13. I really think this shows why the Brewers brought him up early. It seems pretty clear that they wanted to know if he could adjust to the majors and be the opening day shortstop or if they needed a plan B for next year. If he had started next year batting .156, he may have been sent down before he could make the adjustments, and it would likely lead to the Brewers getting off to another slow start. Better to get the adjustment period out of the way when the season is already lost and there is no pressure.
  14. Quoting myself. Put together the goPro footage I took. The trip was amazing, next time I plan to shoot more video - now that I know how well it came out. If you're considering it, young or old, and you like mountains and like to hike. I highly recommend Glacier. My pops did just fine, and he's a 68 year old smoker. He got into great shape for the trip, but he managed everything and had a few 6+ mile days. I teach geography and may use your videos to show the kids a different perspective of Glacier National Park. Thanks for sharing those!
  15. If rained out tonight, does that just push the dates back one day?
  16. Colin Walsh might be available.
  17. Can Peralta get his ERA under 5? Pitching well as of late.
  18. Santana was 0-8 with 7 K's vs. Hendricks who was yesterday's starter. Counsell has stated it will be matchup based. If Stearns didn't like this, it wouldn't be happening. There's something to bringing younger players along at a pace. Santana was rushed up and having sparatic success. Maybe allowing him to have success in his starts will do him more good than just flat out playing everyday.
  19. Don't forget about Diaz also Briggs. A lefty bat at 2B that has some definite pop. Truly we could have a left handed dominant lineup if they pan out. 1B- Santana? ® 2B- Diaz (L) 3B- Erceg (L) SS- Arcia ® LF- Ray (L) CF- Brinson ® RF- Phillips (L) That's more than enough left handed options for this club and I didn't even insert Clark (L) or Villar (S). Also it's just using the guys that in this system now. Could be another bat or two that ends up with us via more trades or free agency.
  20. We grabbed three top ten prospects from the Rangers. Maybe Cordell doesn't float your boat at the moment but it's hard to argue that we didn't receive higher end talent in return for Lucroy/Jeffress.
  21. Tough to win games scoring 1 run. Oh well, let the Cubs have their fun. I hope they win every game until the post season. Then they must be vanquished.
  22. I think this is probably part of the plan. Get the best talent you can, no matter the position and worry about filling holes when we are ready to compete.
  23. Scooter showing off that range and athletic ability. Hopefully someone is dumb enough to take him off our hands.
