This kind of attitude contributed to the reception you got in the other thread. Want more behind the door info, then keep your mouth shut. Dude stop. I'm glad you have access to information we don't have but come on. There just is no reason to be like this.
It's a downer that we have to part ways with the best catcher the Brewers has ever had but hopefully the return on this turns out to being something special. On a side note, just let Pina move up and catch. Derek Norris? Come on.
I've seen 2-pitch pitcher tossed around a bit with him but if they're two really good pitches and you can mix in the 2-seem and curveball you elevate those pitches because no one is looking for them. I wish this guy was 25 and figured it out and we had him for another 5 years.
He's not. He really isn't. It's actually pretty amazing that he can hit 40+ homers in a calendar year and still be rather worthless. Shows you how truly bad he is at the rest of the skills it takes to play baseball.
The Dodgers can keep Puig and we'll keep Braun. Puig sucks. And he's an immature guy. People like that aren't needed in rebuilding stage. Braun owes Milwaukee by standing by him. Whether that is hitting .300 or better for the next 4-5 years as we stink up the joint or being a piece to our next contender. Either way, Milwaukee is where he should be stuck. He shouldn't get a get out of jail free card and get to be a Dodger as they contend for titles year in year out
Still doesn't get on base enough. If he did, he be a starter. He's a good bench player though. Plays multiple positions well and smacks it around a bit.
I don't care if we ever have a guy that hits 30+ homers. Get a full line up of tough outs. Guys that are OPS'ing high 700 to mid 800's that all get on base and can run. Couple that with pitching and we'll get out World Series run.
While this may stink for us as fans because we are all hopeful/excited to see how they can rebuild this organization, this is a really good thing. Something he has learned possibly from Doug Melvin as he was pretty secretive during his tenure. Keep your cards close to your vest and get as much as you can.
He shouldn't be included in this deal. Either he fetches us high end prospects on his own or we wait to have him truly get his velocity and trade him next year for an even higher ransom. If the Indians want Lucroy, what you're asking for isn't out of the question without Smith.
