I'll be interested to see where Gomez bats tonight. Will it be status quo lineup or will the new, inexperienced manager, come with a "fresh" idea and see what happens.

It'll be interesting to see what the lineup looks like and so forth with a new manager. Interested to see if he has different ideas for where people should be placed. Not that it makes too much of a difference.

Should've made Lucroy our manager. Hopefully he'll soon be our former catcher.

Hopefully they'll make Gennett actually hit the ball in the minors before activating him. He stunk with us so far this season. He is no sure thing to continue to hit MLB pitching. Same with Davis. If he continues to stink, see ya and we play Parra.

This is basically how I feel. If he didn't play college ball in WI and play for the Brewers, would we even give a damn about him? Honestly... Just don't get it.

Gomez can play SS and has a better bat. He's way moe valuable to a team. Herrera is a switch hitter who actually hits. Plays 2B well but can also fill in all over the diamond. Jimenez was a crappy hitting, good fielding 3B. He won't be missed.

I absolutely hate rationale of this kind. That has nothing to do with it! Everyone knows Ron Roenicke isnt a motivator, hes not a guy to light a fire under your ass, hes got a horrible philosophy on how to play the game of baseball, and he's not going to make you afraid of making an ill-advised mistake because he wants aggressiveness no matter how stupid it is. He's a bad manager because his philosophy teaches aggression yet he doesnt have the balls to to get PO'd at a guy when he does something stupid because it would only contradict himself. I hope, like the Bucks, its someone the players will listen to and respect. So how did they ever win 96 games with him? He'll probably say they would've won 120 of he wasn't the manager...

Kinda hope it's Counsell. That way the love fest for him can finally end.

Yep. That was my 'sigh' post earlier. Although another 10 feet and Braun has an HR. This team's inability to take a walk is crippling. At times it truly feels as if they do not want to. 3-1 count, better swing wherever it is. Can't stand that approach.

Gomez back tomorrow. Slide Parra to LF for the even stinker Davis.

While I think your analogy is really dumb, and I mean no disrespect, it is dumb. There plan was to field the best team they could. The players still have to play and perform. This season falls squarely on those players not playing to their abilities. There is no reason to think that this team could not compete for a playoff spot if they play to their abilities. Will they? Doesn't seem that way. If you "predicted" this start for the Brewers it is because you are a negative nancy boy who will always see faults in the roster no matter how good it is. I'm not sure why any Brewer fan would be upset at signing guys hoping they would play to their "career norms" and actually be contenders. People forget quick how big of a joke this franchise really is and the recent success does not go back very far. This post flies in the face of the environment BrewerFan fosters. Don't keep posting name-calling & denigrating stuff -- it's not welcome here. Disagree, but don't be a jerk. Sorry to Souptown or anyone offended by the "negative nancy boy" comment. Shouldn't have called names about anyone who wants to be negative towards the Brewers "plan." Must've woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. It just annoys me that we all think it is so easy to just find all these great young players and field a good team. If it were that easy, everyone would be doing that exact thing. While I agree that you can trade some guys at their peak value that you may not be able to re-sign to help you consistently have options at the younger levels, I just do not agree with the part of getting rid of everyone just to get rid of players for younger, inexpensive players. I feel as though people feel as though it's their money being spent. Braun's contract won't affect the Brewers being able to compete or not and neither did Aram's $10+ million this season. The Brewers have more than enough resources to get the job done. So far, DM looks terrible because for some reason, all that the same time, these players slumped together. It will even out this season. Will it be enough? Not sure. They dug themselves quite a bit hole.

I think the 'career norms' thing is in reference to expecting aging players, or players who have struggled with injuries, to come back with their career norms when it's unlikely. Thus, having A-Ram hit 20+HR and bat .285 is probably unrealistic. Maybe he won't hit 20+ HR's because he really isn't that type of power hitter but I bet he hits close to .285 and around .800 ops which is pretty solid from a 3B. He was the best option to have on our team this year. It's not like 3B's with .900 ops are just laying around waiting to jump on the Brewers roster. People always seem to think things are an easy fix but that is so far from reality. This isn't a video game. You don't just get to trade away players and get a treasures haul in return. The Brewers just don't get to sign every good free agent either. I for one am sure glad we have the change to have a HOF player at 3B instead of that rag arm Rogers over there for a year.
