  1. I'd say a guy that was batting well over .300 for 3 seasons would be a very nice addition to this team. If he's healthy, the Red Sox are dumb for letting him get away.
  2. SFG will lose some defense but he'll do just fine there.
  3. Seems like a Halton to me.
  4. Maybe they're not done yet? Scherzer still out there and possibly more trades. Who knows? Their GM is being pro active, which I love.
  5. Trade Parra for a BP guy, trade for Seth Smith and have him as your 4th OF. Sounds good too me.
  6. Scary? It's money. MA has more to give if he wants. Another big RH bat to have? Get him in our lineup.
  7. And Gomez is still in Mil while Walker and Paxton are in Sea. Dangit.
  8. This is one time I don't think it has to do with being an ex-Brewer. If we could sign Aoki for cheaper than Parra, which should happen, and then trade Parra for some bullpen help, we would be in a better position with the roster. That's what people are talking about.
  9. Sign him and sign Aoki. Then we have a guy that can help him transition.
  10. This guy is worth a look at our bench role for IF. Doing my own research, since 2012 he has slashed .304-BA/.371OBP/.499slg/.866 OPS in 401 plate appearances against LHP's. This would be great to add to both Segura (who has stunk against lefties) and Gennett when there is a tough lefty pitcher. Can play all IF positions, minus 1B (I think)
  11. It would translate to about 5 HR's a year. It would more likely translate to solid gap power here. I doubt he will hit double digit HR while in the MLB. All things that will never be known unless he actually does come here and play. That is what is scary about signing these guys. Ya just never know who will transition in the MLB and who won't. And it's a lot of money to throw at these guys for a chance.
  12. Probably because he's really bad in the OF which makes him only a RH option at 1B.
  13. I just feel they value Parra way too much. Yes he's a great glove but his bat is just meh. Trade him and find a cheaper option, like Aoki/Bonifacio combo, that allows your team to be even better.
  14. Why not just make a pub in Miller Park and name it after him. Miller Park should have about 4-5 different pubs and on the levels with their greats names after them.
  15. The problem seemed to be that Aoki could not play CF well enough to be our 4th OF. Could trade Parra, to get Allen Craig. Sign Aoki and a guy like Bonafacio. Now you're covered all over the field.
  16. Just watch the game. It's what you're there for. All this extra crap is so unnessecary. Do a diZy bat race instead and give away a free hotdog, it's basically free.
  17. Just can't see them doing it but one can hope!
  18. Fixed. Incorrect again. I wish people would stop posting lies as facts. Yea I guess he was way off with his sarcasm. Since joining a major league team, Segura has play for 14 months. He has been average or above in the OPS department 4 times(.749 is the average in the MLB for shortstop). So, I guess you are right, he was incorrect. I hate the fact that Jean struggles against lefties. He's a career .280 against righties but only .235 against lefties. Last year he hit a measly .182 against left handers. Pure awful. I could be awful. I don't get it. Jean really needs to have a good season this year or it will be to a bench role he will go, or at least he should.
  19. No confidence in Rogers or Jimenez? Just curious. I meant who plays corner OF like Blanks, Denorfia or even Hairston. As for our corner IF options, I think Rogers offers more power than Jimenez but believe the later will be on the opening day roster since he is out of options and Rogers can still be stashed in AAA next season for added depth. Does anyone know if rogers can play either right or left field? Rogers has played a little LF in the minors but nothing significant. He has played RF for a couple innings as well. Me thinks that if he is the one (and Jimenez hopefully does well in ST) to be sent down, that they should find some innings for him in the OF as well. Rogers could be the RH scatter guy that we bring up at multiple positions if he can learn to play all over.
  20. No confidence in Rogers or Jimenez? Just curious.
  21. I guess we should put Segura in AAA as well then since he OPS'd less than him, had a worse average and roughly the same OBP. Herrera did a nice job for us last season and expecting him to get on base a tad more is not unrealistic considering two seasons ago he was on base 34% of the time in more MLB at bats for the Dodgers. And in the minors he's been on base 36% of the time. Elian might carve out a nice little stint for the Brewers as a utility guy.
  22. So, beginning of the year. I remember him being hurt at some point. I think being hurt at the beginning gives more more hope that his second half numbers were just meh, because of the previous injury. The fact that they would give up on him for another injury plagued OF is amazing to me.
  23. Carrying a decent to good OBP in the minors with no power is not a good indication that a player will get on base in the bigs. He BB'd & K'd a lot with no power... there are plenty of those guys in the minors. Herrera was 'old' for pretty much every level he played in MiLB & doesn't realistically project to do much with the bat in MLB. I have no issue with him being one of the first depth guys at AAA, but I want no part of him on the everyday roster. He definitely isn't a viable OF option imo. He looked bad out there, and was only used in a time of dire need... not to mention how awful his bat is at a corner OF position. Your backup IF's are probably not going to have the pop of your starters. It just is what it is. Him batting around .280 and if he improved his OBP (which my looking at his minor league stats, he could) to around .320 would be just fine with me as a backup, switch hitting M-IF. He plays well enough in the field too. You're not going to have all stars on the bench but he is capable of being productive in a bench role. Much like he was last year for us.
