  1. Favre was waffling over retirement every offseason and the team was in decline, he was turning the ball over a ton. It wasn't an ascending one with a young core. I was a big fan of the Rodgers pick, but mostly because I really didn't like the player Favre had become. As I said earlier in this thread, Brady's contracts have made it easy for his teams "to do what it takes." Rodgers was already rumored to be frustrated with the team's stubbornness. He's not the boss and I respect Gute's cajones, but if you can't make splash moves in FA, I can see how he'd be peeved with a 1st round QB. Is that where Rodgers says he will restructure to fit in “player X” if they promise to sign someone he wants?
  2. Once KC wins in two weeks, he will be firmly pushed ahead of Rodgers in many people’s rankings. Warranted or not (it’s not). That’s just how this works.
  3. I learned my lesson throwing a hissy fit over drafting Rodgers when I thought the world of Favre. I like the fact that they are thinking future. I hope Love can keep us competing for championships like both Favre and Rodgers have. Even with the loss today (it does stinks), the last 25-30 years has just been too much fun.
  4. Rodgers just feeding the off-season story lines after this one.
  5. Yeah, one play doesn’t get you fired but this ones as close as it gets.
  6. It’s not blaming Rodgers for the loss to point out that he had the ball several times at the end of the game with chances to take the lead. It comes with the position. You gotta make plays in crunch time and he didn’t really do that tonight. But it’s not the full reason for a loss tonight. Many, many other things lined up for that.
  7. While I agree Brady isn’t that good anymore, Brady has driven his team down for scores so many times in these situations. Rodgers has that opportunity many times tonight and whiffed. It’s unfortunate as it would change a lot of people’s minds about him and these games. He played well, just not well enough.
  8. Every year that passes, I’m sure glad the Packers got hot at the right time and won that SB a decade ago.
  9. You can win with as many mistakes made today but it sure makes it that much harder as shown here tonight. Play a clean game and you’re probably heading to the Super Bowl. Disappointing.
  10. All day, whistles swallowed. All day.
  11. Even if Rodgers doesn’t get in, he’s stinking close. It allows you to let it go down to the 2-minute warning and get your best play ready.
  12. Down 5 twice - didn’t move the ball. Down 8 - FG drive. Now the D being asked to get us the ball back again.
  13. I want our D to have a chance to get us the ball back. Score quick. Let’s end this in regular time.
  14. Well, if you’re a pessimist, we are scoring and missing the 2-point conversion to go home.
  15. I fully expect a penalty to extend a drive on this series.
  16. Given the ball twice down by 5 in the 4th and never moved the ball. All of the mistakes. All of the just straight up garbage. Didn’t move the ball.
  17. Does Brady not know we have one good DB?
  18. Defense has done their job and now that. Incredibly disappointing from Rodgers and Co.
  19. Alrighty defense. Let’s get that ball back again.
  20. Here we go. One score game. One quarter to go. Let’s go now.
  21. I would love if Rodgers got in someone’s grill when they shove our guys after whistle. I know his personality is passive but man, just once.
  22. Brady’s line should be awful in this game and yet, he will look like a great QB. All because of just poor DB play. What a gift, as if he hasn’t had enough in his career. Edit: I stand by this 100% even more so now.
  23. A stop is needed. Turnover would be great but just a quick stop will do. Then you gotta score and get it to a 1-score game with a quarter to go. That’s your chance here.
  24. At least it’s a collective suck. Plenty all around. Three check downs to start the 3rd quarter.
