  1. just made this for my wife the other night out of my Hawaiian drink bartender book. Very yummy. 1 cup ice 2 oz. pineapple juice 2 oz. plain yogurt 1 oz. chopped macadamia nuts 1/4 of a mango, chopped 1/4 of a papaya, chopped Blend well. Very delicious and good for you, too.
  2. yeah, I heard a rumor about this earlier in the week and it turns out that it was true. I like how they say they are investigating what action they will take on the construction worker who buried it (he no longer works for the construction firm). What can they really do?
  3. okay, so I was wrong. Again, I only was able to watch the highlights on mlb.tv so perhaps the Mets feed was toned down.
  4. you know, I'll tell you what. I just watched the highlights from today's game and I didn't hear any booing from the crowd after Santana gave up his 3rd homer of the game (Kapler), nor on any of the homers. The place sounded like a mausoleum, to be sure, but they certainly were not booing. Had this happened in Philly or in Milwaukee, the home town pitcher (who cares if he is the team's "savior" that they signed for mega-millions) would have been heartily booed. So, hat's off to you, Met's fans. I am VERY impressed and happy with you.
  5. we did not receive any passes this year, however. so many they did away the free passes?
  6. uff da. That's kind of embarrassing.
  7. first pitch, too. very nice. Congrats to the youngster!
  8. big sigh of relief here. I'm on the edge of my seat. Sorry to say, but I'd prefer a few extra insurance runs here before running Gagne out there in New York.
  9. well, please tell me somebody is throwing in the pen
  10. for the record, okay, I'll say Sheets starts the 8th inning on the mound, unless we break out like 7 runs this inning or something.
  11. wow! what guts and stuff from Sheeter on an off day. He may be for real again this year. Can he possibly do better than 2004 (besides W-L record, of course)?
  12. cue the muscle picture edit: dang mlb audio delay
  13. I'm kinda of scared to post this, but since I made the comment about "it's not going to be easy today, folks" I think Sheets has been perfect on the mound.
  14. woo hoo! Rickie out of the park! NICE!
  15. well, that a way, Billy! Tied up. Who'da thunk it after the first inning? Go Brewers!
  16. yeah, trwi7, I meant to put in "but it's the pitcher so I guess you gotta do it" but I forgot to go back and add it in. My bad. Error and a hit and again we have to have Sheets battle through an inning. Nothing easy today, folks.
  17. okay, there's a run. The ol' bunting with 2 strikes play was on, though. Not sure about that. At least Ned's showing confidence in trying stuff and not cowering in fear and indecisiveness. I guess I'd rather him try things than just sit on his hands and drink coffee. Although, that'd be interesting to see.
  18. wow, and Santana gives us another chance to get into this game. Nice eye by JJ.
  19. well, we knew Sheeter wouldn't stay perfect all year. Darn it, that we didn't score any in the first.
  20. my fault, Rickie's was ruled a hit? didn't realize that, listening to Uecker.
  21. gosh darn it all. gotta capitalize against Santana. Interesting that our Lefty gets the only hit.
  22. okay, let's go Braun. Get him in. Nice job of hitting by Prince, too.
  23. well, there's a lucky break start to this game. Now, get him over and get him in! Well, that works to get him over.
  24. we used to get a whole bunch of .300 club passes with our 20-game season ticket package in the Terrace Box. Granted, these passes just allowed you into the club--you still had to pay for food, drink, etc.--and they seemed to give them away like candy, I thought. An usher pretty much stood outside the door and asked passers-by if they wanted a pass. We went inside once, and, yeah, it was pretty dark. But we went out onto the patio during BP and had a few beers and some nachos and chicken sandwich. I thought the prices outside were very comparable to Friday's or any of those type restaurants. Don't know if prices have changed with the name change, though. Bottom line: I was impressed with the old set-up so I'm sure the new one is better.
  25. well, they certainly need some arms out there after Lou has used the pen so much so early in the season. All the extra inning games didn't help, of course, but still. On a personal note, I'm not sure if I'm happy or not about this move. I have Hill on one of my Diamond Mind teams and he was going to be a staple in the team's rotation. But moving him to the pen helps ensure that his durability will be increase and he won't have a games played limitation in our league.
