  1. well, that's not his fault, though. The Rockies are stacked. I just hope he can go somewhere (or get the chance with Colorado) and not turn into the next Ryan Shealy, who was supposed to be the "next" Todd Helton but was blocked and dealt to KC. And he's had a ho-hum career since, including injuries.
  2. I know that I've always been worried about the way Bush releases the ball, either out of the wind up or the stretch. He holds the ball out away from his body and does a very subtle little flick of the wrist and pretty much shows the hitter, the bench, and anybody watching closely on television what pitch is coming. He doesn't hide it well at all in my opinion. I realize that Prior has the same kind of motion (minus the little flick of the wrist) but has been more successful, I think, because (a) he hides the ball a bit better, and (b) he just has more "stuff" in his arm (although that's debatable, too, with his injury history--but let's not debate that, okay?). I wouldn't be surprised if he's hurt and trying to pitch through it, but I'm not a doctor. So I'll just go on and hope that it's just the idea of his arm needs to be stretched out some more.
  3. wow, apirk, thanks for posting that! I had forgotten how non-2005-ish the first 10 picks in that draft were. I suppose Ian Stewart would have been good to have. As for Weeks, you gotta give him time. I've had him on one of my Diamond Mind teams since his cup of coffee in 2003 (or 2002, whatever it was) as a franchise player, meaning I've been overpaying him for several years because I believe in him so much. If I'm wrong, I'll live with it, but I don't think I will be. He will produce. Maybe not to MVP caliber status but he'll be a good table setter for the offense. I do wish his defense would improve so I didn't have the heebie-jeebies every time a ball is hit his way.
  4. correct me if I'm wrong, but this will be exactly like last Saturday in which the game will be blacked out on the Extra Innings package. That sucks.
  5. hmm, well I think it would be hit and miss. usually a mini-usb cord is meant specifically for it's product, but not always. I suppose that I would probably try some of the cords out and see if they work with the other products. Are the cell phones and gps still under warranty? if so, you could probably try "safely" try it out, I suppose. Don't take my word for it though. If you don't feel safe "trying" it out, then don't.
  6. very frustrating indeed, but I'm willing to wait for the bats to heat up when the weather does. It sure looked chilly at Shea tonight with the fog and everything. I could see players breath multiple times. Not much of a vent, I guess, unless I want Mother Nature to start warming things up.
  7. There's only one law . . . . . http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n116/pitchleague/chuckcrim.jpg HIS law! p.s. I'm sorry but that was the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread title this afternoon.
  8. gosh, I think so. But it depends on how much wattage the device needs, I think. What type of devices specifically are you referring?
  9. okay, this is a dumb one. That Disney commercial with the parents looking at prices on the internet while the kids are sleeping and then the pumpkin chariot shows up when the folks decide that they can afford $1600. It's not the concept of the commercial that bugs me but the very opening scene. The outdoor shot above their house makes it appear that it is late evening after the kids are in bed and the parents can do their "planning." But the part that bugs me is the moon. The moon image that they use is past a last quarter moon, which would only be visible in the sky in the pre-dawn hours and NOT in the evening. Sorry, Disney, but I highly doubt that parents are up at 4:30 am researching travel prices, not to mention that the sky gets darker as the commercial moves on. Told you it was dumb. But it still bugs me every time I see it.
  10. wow, I seem to remember a lot of people giggling about Corey Patterson in the Reds lineup. Granted, the homer is in a "mop-up" role, but still, he's handled the Brewers pretty well this series so far. Offensively and defensively.
  11. when I made the comment about the .295 BA and 2.95 ERA in the beginning of the IGT, I really was hoping the numbers would go up and down, respectively, not the other way around.
  12. yeah, we did that last year, too. Just was looking at some other avenues.
  13. chat room is pretty depressing with all the stuff regarding the game being over. We still have 3 ups. And many of us complain about bandwagon fans. Sometimes we're worse than they are. of course, Dunn then homers as I type this. But I'm not packing it in. GO BREWERS!
  14. sorry, guys, I shouldn't have said anything about the speed of the game.
  15. well, Bush didn't pitch too horribly but not very good either. Is he hurt or something? Or is he just not stretched out yet?
  16. this game flying like last night. Wonder if it will screech to a slow crawl in the next couple of frames.
  17. what's with the "visit Minnesota" commericals on FSN-WI? Yes, I realize it's part of the FSN-North "network" but, still, can't they take out those commercials and replace them with the Klement's Sausage Race theme song commercial? At least that one I can mock because I am a musician.
  18. I get a small little smile for some reason when I see that the Brewers team BA is .295 and the team ERA is 2.95! Go Brewers!
  19. this would be too simple to be correct, but, perhaps that error is waived for administrators? Especially since they are administrating rather than just posting blather on the net (well, at least in theory, that's what you should be doing--we all know that's not true 100% of the time http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  20. cleaning the bathrooms. Can't stand the effort. If I could do it only once a year, that'd be great. But it's much more often than that, darn it all. I have no problem with pruning the roses, taking out the trash, doing weeds, writing out the bills, washing the car. But the bathrooms? no thank you!
  21. woo hoo! First post in the Trading Post! okay, this a real long shot, but what the heck. The wife and I will be making our 3 hour drive to Phoenix this summer to see the Crew take on the D-Backs, our 2nd team. We are planning on just getting whatever we can get for 3 of the games (walk-up, likely) but would like to "splurge" for one of the games. Anybody in the Phoenix area that may have tickets not going to use theirs? If so, what can we do to take them off your hands? Send me a PM or respond to this thread if you can help out in any way. I probably won't check this thread daily (maybe once a week?) so a PM might be better.
  22. for a pitch low and outside (way out of the zone) Braun hit that a long ways!
  23. Who we got coming up? Braun, Hall, Hart?
