  1. yeah, I'd guess the Angels or the Mariners. Oakland and Texas could be long shots.
  2. I'm also glad to hear that the problems with Brewerfan was global and not just me. I had computer problems yesterday and had to restore to an earlier date and suddenly Brewerfan.net wasn't working. Neither was another ezboard site that I visit. Glad to hear that it wasn't my fault.
  3. seriously . . . PRINCE OF ROY FOR BREWERFAN.NET MEMBER OF THE MONTH!!!
  4. yeah, since I don't recall seeing a thread being flamed by "prince of roy" before (notice: I may have missed it as I don't read EVERY thread http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif ) What brings on this harshness?
  5. who are we talking about?
  6. when Molina was pounding the ground, it could have just been a ploy for Beltran. You know, a "let's smack the ground a few times so he'll think it's going in the dirt and he'll be taking all the way. Then we'll throw the curveball to make him think it's going to dive into the dirt. Ha-ha, though, the joke will be on him!" kind of thing.
  7. jump into wall while running, make snowcone catch, make laser-like throw to cut-off man. Chavez did it all right there. That play will be shown on highlight reels for years. Thing is, what on earth was the runner on first thinking?
  8. yeah, but at least the Eckstein love isn't just Daron Sutton, like so many people claim. I mean, even Luis Gonzalez was giving the guy props as a player.
  9. I guess if he is replacing Jenkins, then I'd be for it, since he's semi-the same player, but bigger. Plus, Damian Miller will be safer this year. But, if that's the "big bat" we're after, it leaves a bit to be desired by me. Low-ish BA, but good OBP just doesn't sound all that great. Yeah, he might hit a few WAY out of the ballpark and give us a bonafide power bat but that's also alot of K's. But what the heck, it's working for the Tigers.
  10. SEE?!?!? The Brewers CAN be a playoff team! oh, wait. . . . . BTW, nice play by Guillen on the pool cue shot to first.
  11. I could see the D-rays trading Crawford for some of our better younger arms like Zack Jackson and Mark Rogers. But I wouldn't give up on Gallardo, yet, as too many posters here (not everybody, mind you) are complaining about how we don't ever develop good young pitching like the Twins and Tigers.
  12. the question I have is would the Brewers move ARod back to shortstop if they would somehow acquire him? I would consider it.
  13. that is a horrible deal. Cano and Cabrera? They have got to be kidding! Sheesh, they are homers for making that offer. No way the Yankees are getting Sheeter AND Weeks for those two clowns. (okay, Cano did fine this year and last but I'll still pass)
  14. yeah, I did too, especially when the players came out and whooped it up with the fans. I sense a new tradition. It just makes me really wishful for the same thing to happen to the Brewers next year (or sometime again in my lifetime!)--that's what makes my eyes well up.
  15. I have a feeling the board will seriously pick up speed again once free-agency starts in mid-November all the way thru the Winter Meetings in December. This was my third season with the Crew and Brewerfan.net to navigate me through the world of baseball and beyond. The off-season is, indeed, quite busy here. Looking forward to all the topics on our big FA acquisitions and trades.
  16. the only thing that stinks about today is that Houston lost. Now, when our Monday Night Football group is looking for something else to watch during commercial breaks/blowout football game, we can't turn to a baseball game for entertainment! I was banking on that! Is wrestling still on Monday nights? Maybe, the women will be on the mats? Oh, I sorta felt like a family member died when the last out was recorded. I was happy on the outside but crying a river inside.
  17. I, too, would like to express my thanks to Brian for the site and for everyone for giving me something fun to do everyday. You wouldn't believe how many times a day I start a conversation with my wife with, "I read on Brewerfan . . . . ." I love this site because of the content and the restrictions on what is included in that content. Everyone is friendly and, even if I have never met anybody face-to-face, I feel like I have. Have a great off-season everybody. April 2nd get here soon enough. Heck, mid-February can't get here soon enough!
  18. oh, I knew your comment was at least a semi-joke. I do find it ridiculous that we played "well" (for a 2006 NL team) for 2/3 of the season and the last month and change we stink it up and slink all the way back to the top 8 in the draft. I guess that it will help in the long run (unless we draft another Krynzel) but I think 99 out of 100 of us would have preferred a genuine playoff race and media publicity (win or lose) and then end up with the #19 pick.
  19. Hooray. I'll make sure early June is clear for me to throw a party. Yippee.
  20. JIminy beeswax our bullpen stinks. I'm having fun listening to Uecker and Powell while watching the Phillies/Marlins on Fox East Coast. [groan]
  21. this is true. It's still 80-90 degrees out, so I've got that going for me. . . .which is nice.
  22. sucks, Brewers are on FOX and I don't get it here in AZ. Not even on my East Coast FOX that I get thru Directv. They're showing Phillies. West Coast FOX shows Giants and Dodgers. My local FOX station is also likely showing Giants and Dodgers. Grrrrr.
  23. now, granted, it's the end of the season, so there's little relevance and chance for it to carry over to '07, but I believe most of us were saying this exact same thing on Turnbow Bobblehead Day. Look how that turned out.
  24. boy, a six-game win streak would be splendid. Especially against the scrubs. What are we Wrigley, 6-2 this season?
  25. This one always bugs me, and I'm not trying to start a fight with any rich season ticket holders that may frequent the board, but . . . I've seen this at other stadiums, where the players will take their uniforns, hats, batting gloves, etc. off and then throw them into the stands. Usually, the players only manage to get them a few rows into the seats. Now, granted, not ALL people sitting in rows 1-5 of the lower deck are rich people (some get those tickets from scalpers, from firends, from work, etc) but I always have to roll my eyes at this, thinking, "yeah, these people REALLY need that stuff, since they can afford practically anything, including $10,000+ a ticket per year." It's a nice idea, but it really makes people who sit in the less expensive seats feel like peons in the realm of the stadium.
