  1. The Dodgers just hung up.
  2. Molitor Fan, Looking at your top 25 I see your MReed love; looking at my 25 and you will not see the same love. I agree with a lot of scouts that see him as a 4th OF type. Also Segura is 1600+AB and lucky to be career OPS at .676. Fiers is an overachiever that will do very well in Petco Park provided he has decent OFs there. I still value Renfroe as someone Sickles had above SNewcombe and JHoffman in the preseason ratings. I love big SEC bats and I cannot lie. I think we are going to have to agree to disagree here and history may side with you...but I'd like to have Renfroe in our OF in 1.5 years...
  3. MrTPlush is right; Sardinas is not eligible... 1. Arcia 2. Jungmann 3. Lara 4. TClark 5. Kodi Medeiros 6. NKirby 7. Coulter 8. Monte Harrison 9. T.Taylor 10. J. Lopez 11. Taylor Williams 12. Devin Williams 13. Demi Orimoloye 14. Knebel 15. Cravy 16. Ponce 17. Jason Rogers 18. Diplan 19. Wagner 20. M. Diaz 21. T. Stokes 22. Ty Perry 23. M. Reed 24. Gatewood 25. B. Diaz Kirby arrives, Demi moves up...Denson almost made my 2.0 and Sneed falls to 26 with Kirby's arrival.
  4. Now that it is evident that Arcia will push Segura either off SS or out of MKE, I say move him now. While his value has been debated here, I would also overspend to get a top 6 OF. Fiers Segura MReed for Hunter Renfroe And I would be happy with that. All 3 Brewers are replaceable tomorrow (Sardinas/Arcia for Segura, Wagner et al. for Fiers, and Renfroe for Reed in AA RF).
  5. I think we have to consider the source (a Houston fan site) and also reflect a little bit when we propose our own deals and always seems to net a top 50 guy...
  6. Is it just me or does this list of intriguing players necessitate some trades that would have many Brewers traded for A ball, high ceiling prospects (like Sean Newcombe) that can be off the 40 man roster next year. I see quite a few possibilities to get nabbed if they are not protected...but maybe I just overvalue our own.
  7. One reason that we will NOT be open for business is that the Brewers rely on ticket/merch sales to cover operating costs more than other teams. If the team is gutted and we end up starting Clarks and Schafers everywhere as we tank then attendance will plummet too. It's a miracle that it hasn't already. Fans here that are imagining trades all over the place and a roster that starts 7 guys with .650 OPS aren't the ones that pay for things. To this I say that Parra, KRod, ARamirez, and Cotts will be moved, but Lind, CGomez, and Segura won't be. This will allow players like Lucroy to feel better about staying here as he has never done a full blow up/ overhaul here, and it doesn't sound like he'd want to. It also allows less diehard fans to have a glimmer of hope for the future of contention, offer some salary relief, shift some non-returning parts for prospects, and not have the passive fans shift into Bucks mode so soon. http://www.brewcrewball.com/2015/7/16/8978329/brewers-trade-deadline-rumors-roster-potential-august will never happen...
  8. Just heard back from my Astros buddy...He is tired of Carter/Singleton but cringes at the possibility of losing Appel (said he's been better of late). Also noted that they were looking for a starter from another deal and wasn't interested in Lohse or Garza. I told him that two middle infielders would be a no go. Davis and Moran would have to be in the deal and he might have to take Parra and not CGomez. Parra/Lucroy/Lind for Asher/Appel/Moran/Fontana/Danry/Stassi/Singleton was the closest we could come to...but I don't think either one of us loved it.
  9. Yeah, the two pitchers had high WHIPs and two of the guys are middle infielders that they are probably looking to move so that Meir can take over. I am not sure we need middle infielders as a prize for those three MLB stars.
  10. This comes from @HouseofHouston (A @FanSided site devoted to Houston sports.) CGomez JLucroy Lind for Mark Appel Jonathon Singleton Tony Kemp Nolan Fontana Max Stassi Danry Vasquez Asher Wojciechowski Now excuse me while I go look all those guys up...
  11. Very interesting...thanks for this perspective.
  12. Is Neuhaus the odd man out?
  13. (Let me preface this by saying that I hope I am wrong, but it has been my experience that not everyone on the top 25 makes it to MLB) For me, it's the swing and miss holes...it's the height and long swing. Everything I read reminds me of a poor mans Sexson. I think he will come and go in success at different levels, but always have holes in his swing. If I would have to bet on it, then I would be more apt to place my $$$ on the TClarks, MHarrisons, and to a lesser degree of popularity, the BDiaz, TPerry, and JRogers of the world. I read a lot but have seen little. Hey, I hope I am wrong, but since I don't think everyone makes it--I'll lower my rating of him...and I think VRoache is a just not going to make it...my take.
  14. 1. Arcia 2. Jungmann 3. Lara 4. TClark 5. Kodi Medeiros 6. Coulter 7. Monte Harrison 8. T.Taylor 9. J. Lopez 10. Taylor Williams 11. Devin Williams 12. Knebel 13. Cravy 14. Ponce 15. Diplan 16. Jason Rogers 17. Wagner 18. Demi Orimoloye 19. M. Diaz 20. T. Stokes 21. Ty Perry 22. M. Reed 23. Gatewood 24. B. Diaz 25. Sneed Huge drop off in hitting talent after T. Taylor. VRoache never leaves AAA and I don't think too much of Gatewood either. Wang, Hobbs, Suter, Strong are LOOGYs. Sardinas is Segura Lite. Ortega, Neuhaus, B. Hall, Y. Rivera, and Magnifico just miss the cut. N. Kirby is top 10 if he signs.
  15. If Parra gets traded to say SF for a top 4 pitcher in their organization and CGomez gets traded to TOR for a C, P, and another piece then what does MKE do for a CF this year and maybe next? If no other offers are suitable (like no real gains for flipping Lucroy after you have another C), what do you do? TTaylor? LSchafer (even though he would not deserve it, and I don't think CC is happy with him)? Herrera? I ask you, how much do you mortgage if the hot deals come and you have more than one offer that you can't refuse? I think if you make one deal that is awesome, then you have to consider two...but what are the in house options?
  16. An increasingly hot Aramis Ramirez for Artie Lewicki might be a match. Lewicki can start or relieve and was with UVA last year. You know he was heavily scouted and now plays in the same league as the TRatts. They are going to know him and his three pitches pretty well. As the preseason #11 for Detroit, I think this is more in line with a 37 year old retiree to be.
  17. I guess getting Okert back from SF might be a bit too much...even if he is a LHRP. Per MLB.com, "Okert showed enough promise as a starter to get drafted twice by the Brewers out of Grayson County (Texas) CC, but he really found his niche when he transferred to Oklahoma and moved to the bullpen in 2012." Drafted twice...someone in house has to like him... I'd package Parra and another for Okert and let Knebel and Okert deal through their Arby years.
  18. Any chance that we don't sign Nathan Kirby?
  19. I am not sure that even if Weeks is hitting well I really want him to catch enough PAs for him to vest.
  20. For now, especially in light of the bullpen's overworked series in NY, any chance that Kintzler gets sent to AAA with his last option, Nelson comes up, and Estrada moves to the 'pen? Add Thornburg for Fiers and Gorz for Wang and that is a team...
  21. Isn't it time to revisit this thread? Don't they have pieces that could be helpful later?? @Ken_Rosenthal seems to think that the yard sale is happening soon...
  22. Shame we can't package Wang and Mills for something and also create space for Gorzelanny.
  23. BHall DHing in Boston and batting 9th was a gem as was allowing CC Sabathia to go over 130 pitches up 9-0... BTW, we are getting Roenicke'd by having this post-DL Kintzler pitch in key situations...he is not what he was..recognize it and adjust accordingly. 5/6/2014's game was given away.
  24. Post Braun to DL lineup... Segura Gennett CGomez ARamirez Lucroy KDavis 1B Gindl-rf Another lineup will be needed when Gomez gets suspended...but this is a better start than what is going on now...
  25. LouisEly said, "Fastball velocity is not as important as the differential between fastball velocity and secondary pitch velocity and the ability to throw strikes with those secondary pitches. An 88 mph fastball looks like 98 if you are expecting a 78 mph changeup." Don't forget about movement...late movement on pitches in the zone is deadly and causes more missed bats than velocity. You don't have to be 6'5 240lbs to have it either.
