  1. Funny how they ask for Ray in it. Hader alone would be a No. Pitching for pitching. That is only deal with Hader. Were here with DiDi being an option to sign. We signed Grandal. Cain. Moose. Know who we didn't sign? Arrieta, Darvish, Strasburg, Cole, etc. So via the market we can attain position players. Not top of Rotation pitchers. You want a gamechanger pitcher then give us that gamechanger position player. Tatis Jr. Etc. If there is another out there that fits it. Or its SP.
  2. The Yankees aren't that good at developing talent. And then there's the media wildly overhyping every decent guy they have. Hard pass. I just looked at the Yankees minors mlb prospect ratings. 2 players in the top 100 none in the top 60. #62 is Deivy Garcia a maybe #3 SP projection. #66 is a 16yr signing that has yet to play so hard pass. #82 is Estevian Flovial an OF with an Arcia stat line at 22 in A ball. Puke. It's awful results for age and level they are playing at on down the list. I seen that Didi is willing to sign a 1yr prove himself deal. So truly a Moustakas clone just at SS vs 3b
  3. A blurb on Gerrit Cole from mlbtr. Expectations are that Cole will indeed go past the $300MM mark, per the New York Post’s Joel Sherman, who names nine years and $324MM as “not a bad over/under” for Cole’s next deal Remember the Pirates scored Joe Musgrove, Colin Moran +2 others when they traded Cole in 2018. Ouch.
  4. 10 career innings for Didi at 3b lifetime. Meanwhile Urias has 539.2 innings at 3b. So in this idea Urias plays 3b Didi at SS. The power stats for 3b may get ignored since Hiura is plus for 2b and Didi likely plus for SS. What you would get is OB top of the order bat future from a 3b then. Maybe I can soften the idea why Didi. Really would be on the scouts for Urias at 3b. Didi's bat essentially replaces Moustakas. Sorta. The deal is a curious one to piece. Hes going to get multiple years. The interest I read has Cincy and Philly included. 2years would fit the timeline of next in the minors. 3 or 4 would mean further moves down the road to accommodate.
  5. Eh, most are of the same build. But yes on taking on a big contract proposals, the return plus contract are pretty bad. Narvaez is Lefty. Pederson is Lefty. That doesn't work for 1b time.
  6. Don't get any on the idea for Didi. My only thought is a team in the division are really in to him, and this is just the attempt to make them bid higher. Would the Cubs be in on him? They have a number of guys that played 2b last season but none are great options when compared to Didi's prior 2 seasons before 2019. So you know, just like the Cubs being in on the majority of the Brewers big potential signings. (they did get Darvish so that was pertinent) Edit add: SRB I think he means the fact that Johnny Estrada would be beating out throws from Keston's arm strength from a longer throw. Imagine Billy Hamilton bunting down 3b and racing around for a double when he continues around 1st as Hiura's throw rolls in to (insert 1b) glove.
  7. They chose Jalen Hurtz over Taylor for the Heisman final 4. I understand the other 2QBs and Young. Hurtz though, weak competition. Seriously, I was thinking oh, Baylor was good, but they didn't beat a single ranked team losing to Oklahoma twice. The career he's already had. He's 5th all time for RBs and a 326yard game vs Oregon would make him #1 all time.
  8. Yes. I get that. In reference to Suppan&Lohse it is that you are buying in to them at their highest value at the time. And in Kuechel his value isnt at its highest. Ryu would be a great get. But I'm in the feelings now he's going to cost at least 4-80. Also I figure Ryu would have certain destinations in mind and Milw wouldn't be one even if we came at him for 4-96 being a foreign player and all. I don’t get the “highest value” comment. This isn’t the highest value ever for either of these guys. What should matter is predicted future value. For all we know Keuchel is all downhill from here. Keuchel may be cheaper, but he may also be worth a lot less over the course of the contract. 2019 was Ryu's best season at the Majors. Lohse it was his best season in the Majors. Suppan was MVP of the NLCS.... Re:Highest values. Kuechel after 2019. Not highest value.

  10. Well he'd have had to go 10+ per start to reach 200 in 2019. I think he was about on pace if he had 33starts. I don't think you can assume that though. He only played half a season. Much easier to avoid ticky tack injuries (or even moderate ones) when you skip half the year. Maybe if he was a perennial 200 inning guy you could assume that, but 2/3 of the previous three years we was notably far from 200 innings. The thing is, when given a full season of starts he's had 3 of 5 reach 200IP or more. The other two he missed Sept and 2months the following season. More often than not he will go 200IP in other words. The idea is the team gets a starter that can pitch beyond the 5th inning and in this case, Kuechel can pitch beyond the 6th. If not him then who are you looking for Milwaukee to Dumpster Dive with? Bumgarner wants 9figures. And the recency facts puts Ryu in the Lohse/Suppan category. Paying him for results that exceeded his career norm. Who has a far worse injury history. For the money and potential results Kuechel is most likely to meet and exceed. Sorta like the Cain signing. Edit add. I will say in looking deeper to what kept Kuechel from 200IPs those 2 seasons, I found hes from Oklahoma, played in Houston obviously and choosing Atlanta last season was a closer towards home while also winning now. So he may choose a team based on location. Not sure outside the Chicago's teams that he'd find closer with winning who want to sign him. Colorado isnt a winning now go to. Arizona same. St Louis I believe isnt in the pitching market. KC is rebuilding. So maybe the idea fits him then. Of course money by those Chi teams would outclass Milw.
  11. Well he'd have had to go 10+ per start to reach 200 in 2019. I think he was about on pace if he had 33starts.
  12. Seeing the Yankees are near an offer of 7yrs 245million for Cole. Guess depends if the LA teams exceed it on a higher offer. Getting close to 40per.
  13. That's Garza/Lohse type of contract/money while a better history. That'd be surprising to me for him to sign such a low contract. In this market I fully expect him to be a 4-72mil deal if we're talking by end of the winter meetings. It gets in to the new year, then more a 4-60. It'd be quite the coup to sign him 3/42 though. I dunno, Kuechel didn't exactly light the NL on fire last year, his FIP was 4.72! For a guy who is turning 32, doesn't get many strikeouts, and did not make the most of his $13million one year prove it deal, I have a hard time seeing how he'd get more than that per year, especially for a 3 or 4 year deal. Seems like his value would have to be lower this offseason than last so 4 year 72mil, no way. He seems more like a 2 year 20 mill candidate. Kuechel had the QO attached to him last season. Signed June 7th. First start June 21st. Didnt miss a start, 5 starts 7innings with 1 of them in to the 8th. Like most gave up more HRs than in his past, a little higher BB/9. With Low Ks and a H/9 avg his Fip jumps. His deal last season was actually 20mil but only 13mil with the late signing. Hes 4yrs removed from being the Cy Young/ 2 from being an All Star. In his last 630IP hes been worth 9.3 WAR as a pitcher. That is a Brandon Woodruff value to IP. Obviously if I went to his Cy Young year, hed be more valuable. Career Fip is 3.80 which he beat the previous 350IP. Ton of Playoff experience. Hes due for a bounceback that had he pitched last season like Ryu his value would be out of our League. Speaking of has never pitched 200IP on a Season. Kuechel has 3. Did this last year. I suggested getting in on Lance Lynn due to the ability to go 200IP and bounceback value. Just 208IP of 7.6WAR value last season for Texas. As with Lohse or Suppan the history of production exceeds those two I said then and applies with Kuechel now. With his age this is going to be a 4yr ask. That 4-72 is my belief if he gets whats hes asking for before the new year. Our deal would probably land at 4/66mil.
  14. Its ugly to watch when the Redskins bring 4or less rush. I dont think Allison has any desire out there to make a play. No selling that the pass could come his way or attempt to work back for a catch.
  15. That is the basic return I've sought. Straight upfield gain yards. Other guys this year wojld have juked 3steps for no-one and then run backwards.

  17. Yes. Somehow in the first half they had 3 catches that may have been better than any catch a Packer has made this season. They exposed the missing LBs, which maybe the talent Leonard was left on the field caused him to call the soft zone vs the game plan he had in the 1st half. Taylor missing the 1st series of the 2nd half sequence. Cruickshank running out the kick and resulting starting field position at 15. The 3rd quarter was just a whole bowl of terrible events. 21-17 Badgers the other 3 quarters with a FG position had they not needed 2 TDs otherwise. Listening to ESPN radio and they are all about LSU being the #1 seed jumping OSU. I don't get that. Dumb SEC Bias. But whatever it'll be settled on the field. Such a joke if ESPN's prediction for WI to face Memphis in the Cotton Bowl happens. So Penn St can play Oregon, Minnesota play Auburn, Michigan play Alabama, Iowa gets USC. Stick us with a non power 5 match-up. I hope they don't stick WI with a scrub matchup.
  18. They might deserve it but $$$$$$$ will win out in the end and that means Penn State. Jonathon Taylor makes a Case that the Badgers should go. Heisman vote getter vs 0? For a PSU player?
  19. No coincidence that it has been since Orr got hurt. Very fair point. How much of the OSU D issue in 1st half was from losing its top corner (Okudah)?? 1st half was Coan and Taylor making huge runs at opportune times.
  20. Theres a WR and CB that are going to get a flag here before this game is over for fighting.
  21. What do you see in Cease being a ToR arm. Last year in AAA: 68 IPs - 75 hits allowed - 32 BBs, 3 HBPs - 1.57 WHIP -4.48 ERA. Much worse when he got called up. I don't see that as a #1-2 type guy, much less a decent trade for one of the best in MLB. Heading in to 2019 Cease hadnt thrown a pitch at AAA. By midseason he was thrust in to ML pitching. At the prior levels he sat 3.32 and below in ERA. Its youth and scouting reports. Top 30 prospect that likely is top 15 if he hadn't jumped in to the majors. 10k/9 below 7hits per 9 up to the jump to AAA/MLB. He maintained a 10k/9 at the MLB level gave up more hits and a lot more HRs aka Burnes-lite increase. All at the age of 23. A year of seasoning. If he was lights out in AAA, in MLB ToR stuff in 2019, he's not going to be available. To anyone.
  22. 1b-3b, SP are team needs now. The return has to be that ToR SP, such as Hader had in the minors. Ive said Dylan Cease. Find that type of SP with control before Arbitration. Its the Arb. Factor/Super 2 that has put Stearns in this position to trade Hader now. He could have a 9ERA this season and argue in Arb next season hes worth close to 10mil due to the last two seasons. Im only on my phone so perusing that trade get must is too mich. But mayber someone else has the Dylan Cease comp on a SP who would be Pre Arb with ToR future like such with Cease. That SP should be starting to begin this season, not a prospect callup.
  23. Ohio State plus the points. Coan is not gifted enough to beat this team. He was a huge problem in game 1. Nothing has changed what he brings as a QB since game 1. The hopeful outcome here is that the committee keeps WI ranked above Penn St. to go the Rose Bowl.
  24. Nice. A solid Platoon partner. Considering he's now in his Arb years. I wouldnt expect a hurt kind of cost. Now having Urias I'd take Eduardo Garcia as a likely Lottery target for the Mariners.
  25. I would do either of these in a heartbeat. Vaughn reminds me of Hiura (excellent plate approach) and is immediately the 1B of the future to go with Hiura at 2B and (hopefully) Urias at SS. Kopech or Cease are TOR talent type pitchers. For this package, I would gladly sacrifice some 2020 wins. EDIT: Then there is this: If 2020 is all in, let's take advantage and give them the best reliever on the market. Man what will the White Sox payroll be? Going to jump over 200mil in a heartbeat to go from a 70ish win team to WS contender overnight? Jeesh. Que Cease+ for Hader. Giolito, Nova,Wheeler clearly now, +1more FA signing. The insanity of their moves would lead me to think Cease and a top 3 in their minors, +plus is not out of the realm here.
