  1. I wish it were required to publicize the trade offers declined. This much should have been certain. Jones, Ferril and Haskins could not have been top 12 in GB's big board. Wilkins, Burns and Sweat along with Gary were still there. Thats trading down to at least 17 and gettin a top 12 value to your board. Realistically how big a difference in numbers would you project vs those 4? On a value stand point they had to grade out overall 0 or worse with the 8picks.
  2. If that is what is said even higher expectations on Gary. Pro-Bowler quality production or some Scout/Person responsible on Gary being that high has to be fired 2 years from now. As Homer said, you needed to get a feel for what was going to drafted behind you, with team needs. But I guess the counter immediately to that is Wilkins was drafted #13. The 1st round of this draft need to have impact not in the future by this season. And both had better outperform the majority of the players drafted after them that would have fit GB's needs for this season. I feel real good about Savage's chances. Gary? my doubts are warranted. Where is he playing and how often this season? You've now got Lowry, Clark, Daniels, the Smith's, Fackrell, and Adams to all pull snaps from Gary. If he had played LB at Michigan I wouldn't be this upset, but he played on the line and it's going to be a battle to get him plenty of snaps this season. I can be critical of the draft, just like you can support it. Nobody here is in that draft day war room knowing what was what. It's just the general reaction from people around the media wasn't agreeing 100% with his pick.
  3. Atta Boy Jimmy. Spending the rehab term in a good way.
  4. On the subject of Wilson: He now has 9BBs in 11.1 IP. Something is wrong with Grandal or the Pitching coach. Why? The last 2 seasons combined he walked a total of 30 in 121.1IP How can he be on pace currently to walk double that this season? Claudio has a Career 2.0BBs/9 only 15 in 2018 in 82.2IP and in 2017 with 13 in 68.1IP the last 2 seasons. At a career high 4.1bb/9 currently. Chacin last averaged 4 in 2014. He's at 4.8/9 currently. There's just something off in the pitchers ability to throw strikes. Is it Grandal's set up before a pitch? His framing skills? Is it the pitching coach's sequencing on what to throw 1st pitch? In which it ends up starting these guys down 1-0? Team ERA is up 1.45 from last season. Cincy is down 1.36ERA as a team last season. We're over 1/6th of the season in, a week from it being 1/5th in. Some kind of connecting the dots needs to transpire what is the root of this? Not to just sit here and say career 3.2ERA at Texas, and a career 3.23ERA prior to coming to Milw this season Suck. It isn't like those two lack experience with 500+IP between the two.
  5. Heres my take and counter. #12. If Gary puts out the same kind of numbers in the NFL but creating havoc for an offense. Is that good enough to the expectation you have for #12 pick? If I compare what Matthews avg his 1st 5 years being 10sacks about 50+ TKLs and 20TFLs a year, how confident are you Gary is going to do that? If he avgs any less than 7sacks, 50Tkls, 20TFL, his first 5 years hefailed expectation to that pick. Now Gutey said the offers to trade down didnt meet what he desired. Think about that. Had he traded down we would have had more picks. Maybe we get Gary still. Or they take Savage with that pick, still have 30 and both 4th rd picks. Rather than start day 2 watching the best OTs picked we may have had one there at 30. It's a whole new draft if Gute would have just taken the best offer. Rather than hate he gave up both 4ths to move up 9 spots. Those 4ths are there +plus whatever the trade brought. By the end of day 1, the last 6 rounds he was handicapped. No longer could he use mid round draft capitol to jump up and grab a fitting player who you graded (for example] late 1st early 2nd when that player is sitting there to start the 3rd rd. And then whoop snatched 7th pick of 3rd rd. Or maybe it can be end of 3rd rd for better effect with the 2 4ths just sitting there to package 1 with your 6th rd or 7th rd to get that guy. At the end of this draft, what pick are you telling me we got great value on? Who you couldnt believe was there where we picked him?
  6. H&T. Dont call me bandwagon. Its called being realistic. Put the info together and figure it out. Burnes started with 7wins after last season. Jimmy Nelson is on track to joining the rotation. Brewers signed Gio Gonzalez. Brewers Bullpen has been atrocious. Burnes biggest success came in the bullpen last year. Open your eyes, put 2&2 together,. What's the Solution? Burnes will spend time back in the bullpen. His clock is ticking and he wont be winning 10+ games this year from there. So he starts again in 2020 with 5years control left, I'll give him 5 wins and thats 88wins in 5seasons. He has to stay with the team all those seasons, 17 or more wins each season, and avoid TJ in that span. He blew his chance this season. He's at the bottom of the totem pole. Chacin, Davies, Woodruff, Peralta, Anderson, Gio, Nelson, and then him. Now does he just sit in AAA start after start not running his clock til its his turn back in the rotation? How's our bullpen again? How'd he do there last year? It's obvious where he goes sooner than later.
  7. This makes the 2nd round pick much more appealing. I didn't think he would last, it's good to know we addressed TE with a route runner. Off to tomorrow. Let's see what scraps are left for our picking! We Helped Rodgers today!
  8. I'm just looking at the fact they took a Center and interior guy who they signed Billy Turner at or backup Bulage. Cole Madison is back. So I think using a 2nd round pick on a guy that is destined to play backup, when you a clear starter in Irv Smith waiting for you at a position of need. I like that they are adding a blocker for Rodgers and it sounds like he's a very decent pass blocker, I'm just venting because I want the team to win this season more than thinking long term. I think about what their big board must be and Smith had to right around Jenkins by 2 or 3 spots there. I'd just pick the starter over the backup/future starter who maybe grade 1 or 2 points better.
  9. Well, we'll get the best look of anybody this season at the top 3 TEs that were in this draft this season.
  10. I'm getting a feeling like with Pitts., Denver's pick was the Packers to be pick and we panicked and picked the next guy while not finding a trade to move down. Which would explain the aggressive move up in the 1st because the frustration of losing their guy.
  11. Given Gute's comments about not really being thrilled at giving up three picks to move up, I bet he acquires more selections at some point. That's moving down from 44 and or 75. I'd probably look at what is here and think if anything they need to move up in to the 3rd and pick. The best options and for what the team needs are here with OL, WR, and TE.
  12. I'll predict Irv Smith rd 2. Max Scharping Rd 3. since he has a WI tie and fills an inside need.
  13. Re 300 wins. They'd have to pitch in to their 40s, but Grienke is at 191 and Scherzer surprisingly is at 160. As to the Brewers and 100wins, it'll happen. Peralta is young enough to put up enough 13+ win seasons to get there. Davies can do it as well. It's just a matter of the Brewers extending the team's control for that to happen. What has to be going for them, is that the team is good as constructed to make that happen. Now will they pitch the 5 innings needed to qualify for the wins? We shall see. Burnes would have been nice to gamble on this but he became an after-thought. Woodruff is older and not on a good start either like Burnes. It's bound to happen. You're asking the question while the team in finally looking like a winning built organization. As to Sheets, Remember those teams? If he gave up 2 runs it was game over L for him. And that happened so often because it was Ace facing Ace. 2004 12-14 237IP 2.70 ERA as an Example. That should be a 20 win season.
  14. On Gary and his Wonderlic, I seen he was dyslexic too. Now, saying you're not worried in that because he plays on the DL, isn't that sorta putting him where that type of score needs to go? Keep it as simple as possible? During the PFF stream after the pick and their immediate dislike, it was there's not any moves, he just bull rushes. So, he didn't make the OL need to adjust to any move. Simply put your body on his. This may explain the production failure. Like a pitcher tipping it's pitches or only throwing FBs. Now, I swear the first Packers post listed him as a LB and not DE/DL. So I hope he can learn that position and the ability to think and dissect pre-snap where he's supposed to make the play. On that end.... Savage really stood out able to dissect moments after the snap where to go. He was flying to the ball like he called the play for the other team. It was almost legendary in my mind. I had to watch another 45min. of highlight tape because it was so fun to see a guy just seem twice as fast to the rest of the defense and disrupt or make the play. Any play that is in front of him he looked he could make. The only negative I have is the height and anything thrown over the top of him. He's going to get destroyed by guys that are big or up and go getters(OBJ) with an accurate thrown over the top throw. He's there to make the play, but not on a jump ball. To make the tackle, swipe the hands while pulling a catch in. So, in that regard, I'd hope the man he's responsible for isn't a deep threat or Big. Around the endzone those corner routes will be brutal if he's responsible. I do look forward to the amount of plays he busts up. That'll be fun to watch.
  15. It looks even worse what they did. They'll go 75 picks between 3rd and 5th round. OL, LB, WR, TE needs. I'll have to guess Gary was the LB filler. Who i saw a comment with a 9 Wonderlic score. Let's see how well he learns a new position.
  16. When it comes to OL, I'd generally guess intellect. Maybe reading a playbook.
  17. Yay a 5'10 Safety. Help that Defense every 1st round this decade. Rodgers should just retire for fear of health.
  18. That's pretty pessimistic considering the 1st round isn't even 2/3 over yet - I'll give you props for being punctual Wait was I not in an IGT?
  19. I just put a NFC Central grade out in 1st round. Lions:A Vikings:B+ Bears: C Packers: D
  20. Collinsworth not liking the pick, I think this is a huge bust with not as high upside. Should have gone O-Line, watch that's the trade up for now.
  21. Good call. Why trade up unless your guy was going to be picked behind that spot. Now that may mean if Bush was Packers target are they trading down.
  22. Amazing. Not playing around with BPA, Fall in love with your guy and don't miss him. Oak/NYG
  23. Watching PFF stream. Made a good observation. Nobody was willing to trade up to #4, with such a poor pick coming at 4 to trade down for value.
  24. Right. The NFL should adopt a 3min clock for the 1st pick. Waiting 10mins for a phone call for a trade up is unnecessary. Any team that is going to do so has had Months to commit to a trade up and make it happen.
  25. I'm not for the ideas trading and acquiring a pick in 2020. They've gotta stay within this draft. Gutey went and got 3.5 starters for the team at multi-year deals. It's an urgent desire to win now more than take this as a tank year. You've got the 2 firsts and an early 2nd to give the team starters and immediate help along with those 3.5 starters. Shouldn't be passive. It's why I make the prediction of trading with the Giants who have 12 picks. Then you take the extras if needed to pick up guys in the 2nd or 3rd that have fallen for the taking and need on the team. You take away say #108 and get a 2020 3rd, it'll cost you more picks to move up and get that guy in this draft. I think it is set up nicely to trade up this year because of the 4th rd picks and early 5th. That move for 2 more would only add to that ability and keeping the 4th and 5ths you don't trade away when moving up. 7 or 8 players in the 1st 4 rounds.
