  1. Arcia has hit 3 HRs which is 2 more than Aguilar and Shaw Combined. 7RBIs on his vs their 10 total. It's an early season and Arcia like in this game has at least contributed more often than I can think of. Grandal should begin hitting 3rd with how bad Braun/Shaw/Aguilar are to this point. Moose 4th.
  2. I'd guess seeing the Sinker as his most thrown pitch he's a groundball DP guy. So he'll keep the ball in the park and get them DPs, this kind of inning is how you get to his ERA. He's probably more a situational LHP vs. one to go 1 full inning.
  3. Brewers pitchers 2019 9.45 K9 3.66 BB9 1.86 HR9 5.27 ERA 5.07 FIP 4.28 xFIP Reds pitchers 2019 9.41 K9 4.09 BB9 0.80 HR9 3.21 ERA 3.70 FIP 4.21 xFIP Pretty much the only thing separating the Brewers pitchers from the Reds at this point is HR9, which is by far the flukiest & shows up in our near identical xFIPs. I'll go out on a limb & predict we won't allow 162 more HRs than CIN at season's end. The most important number at this early juncture is still IP though. The Brewers have 140, the Reds 123. Far too early to draw any meaningful conclusions about pitching coaches & the effectiveness (or lack) thereof. Reds have played two games less than the Brewers thus far with one game postponed and extra day off.
  4. Surprised as I looked at Standings today to see Cincy is 5-8 with a +10 run differential as a result of only 37 runs against. So less than 3runs a game given up thus far. Something to keep an eye on if they have some better pitching moving forward.
  5. Well, way to go out on a limb NFL.com with prospect grading. Based on their grades there are 0-once in a lifetime players, 0-Perrenial all-pros, 0-Future All-Pros, 0-Pro bowl Caliber players, and just 4 that have a chance of becoming a pro-bowl player. (Q. Williams, Jeffery Simmons, Allen, and Bosa) And then 25 instant Starters. Followed by 120 that have a chance to become starters. Below that they call for backups or special teams. I'm just floored they list so few a pro bowl caliber players or even having a chance! Jeffery Simmons is the one who they tagged higher than I see in mocks. CBS Sports has 6 mocks only 3 with him mocked in 1st round and all outside top 20. Anywho, I get the feeling that trading down just a little at 12 and trading up just a little at 30 they still get the same valued player as picking 12 provides but picking 30 wouldn't provide(except taking Simmons and that flak) Maybe when it's said and done, you've gained a top of the 3rd round pick with the maneuvers.
  6. [quote="topper09er" Can you name the Brewer single season record holder? I'll take a couple guesses. Ricky Bones? Mike Fiers. Oh a 3rd. Steve Woodward...Woodard? The knuckleballer being an obvious HR giver.
  7. That's Bellinger's 8th HR this season. to 7ks. What is he juicing on? 151Ks last year 25HRs in 632 PAs. He's on pace for 80 now in comparison if sees the same amount of PAs this season. I forgot to say. why pitch to him at this point? He's scolding hot wait til he's cooled off later in the season with a runner on base.
  8. The more I read about projections on Devin White as an immediate impact and certain Pro Bowler, has me wanting to draft him at 12 if available. Just by looking back at history I don't think GB has had 1 MLB pro-Bowler in my lifetime. With the Edge guys we signed in FA it would seem like a great match to pair for quite awhile. He seems valued around 10-16 so 12 isn't a reach on him.
  9. I must have browsed 8 mocks yesterday and maybe 2? Had #12 the same? That's iirc. Im not sure what that means. Part of me thinks well so deep with options @12 theyll trade down. But now part of me wonders trading up from 30 as so many chances a stud is there to get that was top 10 but fell to 17/18 availability. Sweat for example. I will say i think 2 of the mocks were jokes more in line with their draft board and not a true mock. Kyler Murray in those two was 1st QB drafted in the teens.
  10. If that were what you went by, you better get on the trade Huira train pretty fast as he's been pretty awful to start his time in AAA. These young kids have ups and downs. We see that even when they get to the MLB. Overreaction one way or the other is just generally not good practice. After tonight's game, Hiura's AAA OPS is over 1.000... 5XBH in 8hits. .600Babip. 13ks\26PAs. Does now have a walk. Its fun to look at his stats as its like yes, yes, no no!
  11. I only made mention to both having K problems because thats a reason to hold them down vs call up. They nasically bought themselves another 25 games at minimum down in the minors with this start. You have to show contact skills if youre going to crack Milw's 25man. On another note. Next 1st round pick to have an impact? Is saying Jeremy Jeffress wrong?
  12. 18PAs thus for for both 11ks for Hiura 10Ks for Ray. Hiura 5hits 3XBH including a HR. Ray 4hits all singles 3bbs so 10ks in 15 ABs! Not off to being called up starts.
  13. Great Managing by Counsell with shut-down Hader for the guaranteed win! Division opponent, these are 2 game swings and next opponent will be LA Angels not division. How many times has that been argued here? play to win vs your division more than winning outside the division. Great Job.
  14. Hiura at this point. Not going with Ray for Jinx reasons. As to holding Hiura back til September, considering the new CBA is forthcoming, what if that deal comes to have 4years of control with 7 being agreed upon extensions? Or they do away with Super 2? If there's any reason to believe he would produce more than current production, he should be called up right then and there. You can just bet after recent rule changes the CBA will affect Milw in a negative way when settled upon. (Guessing 5 years team control) bringing players to FA sooner. 2years of the 500k(probably 1m new) and go arb the next 3years. Having a sorta Redshirt year to gain a 6th year if player misses more than 81 games due to injury in any particular season. (Not overall spread through 5seasons)
  15. I want to say that any generational talent just lost money on this "weak" deal. I bolded what you said about Bryant as you need to look at Mookie Betts who WON his Arb case for Super 2 year 2 at a whopping 20million this year. You do the math that is almost 10million more than last season. It actually makes you almost wonder if he goes all 4 seasons at super 2 if he'd make 100million on that Alone! Acuna's longer 1st cup of tea and 144OPS+ is higher than Betts produced prior to only last season(year 4). This in a much easier hitting environment/Division than Acuna faces. And he's done that at age 20 vs Betts' last season being 21-24 before doing so at 25. I don't know if players are looking at the next deal and predicting it's going in the way of the owners. That Arb results like Betts just got will be a thing of the past. My view though, Betts won his case and you have 2 full seasons before you would reach your first case, giving another Arb. round with increases to occur to see where year 1 stands and what Betts makes next season. That would have given him a real proper value to ask for in an extension like this that probably cost him 100million if not more on it's own.
  16. Brewers have more wins currently than the rest of the division combined!!! What a 1st week!
  17. I wonder if that had to do with pitch 5 and 6 at 95 and 96 as #7 was place perfectly back at 94. I still don't think you run him out there in his 2nd start to go well above 100 pitches. Votto will get a PA.
  18. Let's get an insurance run here! This is sorta what I posted in his signing thread. He's closed about 20% of all games he's pitched. Generally not save situations, but he's at least been in the final 3 outs pitched role.
  19. OMG YES Freddy. I kept thinking to myself, any curve ball near the plate would strike Puig out right now and HE THREW ONE!!
  20. Game Day last 5 pitches 4 seam FB- 91,92,93,94,95 #6 96 not fully sure I like that overthrowing try hard.
  21. Who will pitch the 9th, you can't have Freddy go over that 110 pitch today this early in season. I look forward to this answer.
  22. I really didnt think just our 30th could climb the team to #5 but value sites show it does. Id assume you give like a 6th as well. Now the scenario I assume is to draft ahead of Detroit if we're looking at same guy or moving up from 30, ahead of the Vikings pick. That looks like adding the 3rd and first 4th to pick 17. I like the plausibility to do that similar to the Raji/Matthews draft get.
