  1. Who would you rather have in the dugout? Baker or Roenicke?
  2. I think I put this idea in the 2014 Starting rotation thread. But for me, I'd try to pull a fast one by trading away Gallardo mainly, or end up Lohse and then sign Arroyo within the same week. Hopefully tabbing a top 100ish prospect in return and essentially gaining the talented prospect for swapping 1 of Lohse/Gallardo's contracts. If ideally 10mil gets it done over 2-3seasons. Otherwise signing Arroyo and keeping the other 4 of Lohse,Estrada,Gallardo,Peralta leaves zero Rotation spots until injury for Thornburg/Nelson/Jungmann even Hellweg/Pena if warranted. I feel that by locking in 5 rotation spots with 5 guys that should be able to go 32starts..well not Estrada, but by locking in those 5 if you're in the Playoff conversation you're not improving your pitching staff come trade deadline. That is nice and all but who's the Ace of the bunch? Take a look at these playoff teams/matchups....Cole/Wainwright aces. Moore/Lester,Price/Lackey aces Scherzer/Verlander/Colon/Sonny Gray Kershaw/Grienke/Minor/Medlen I just don't see the top talent in pitching staff ability in those 5. So while they'd be 5 pitchers who I'd feel good about to make it through the season without being embarrassing for a Starting rotation. When it comes to a 5-7 game series VERSUS PLAYOFF Teams I'm not a fan. What I envision is a bunch of 4-2 defeats. But the offense against non Ace having, non playoff teams they are 6-3 wins with that staff. The only way you beat those pitching staffs when they throw 2Aces at you in 5 games is to A match up pitch for pitch, and B have your Mashers of the ball come through in the clutch every single time it arises. Oh and btw, this doesn't take in to account that Stl/Pitt. have these super young/talented players joining their teams already or next year. You can guess Wacha will take the mound vs. Westbrook. Martinez/Rosenthal are still in the works, Taveras/Wong is the answer to our Gennett/Davis. And in Pitt. you have Cole/Taillon with SS/OF Hanson/Polanco being their Gennet/Davis. Pitts. and Stl. are just in such a good place as ballclubs that signing Arroyo and looking at how that stacks up to Stl/Pitt of 2013 is looking at them 1 year too late. Their weakest parts of their ballclubs offensively 2b/RF for Stl are being fixed with Taveras/Wong and in Pitts. with RF-Polanco and SS-Hanson they will be much improved. All of that improvement for Pitt/Stl at 2mil cost? Well I think Taillon or Cole have ML contracts already but you get the idea pennies on the dollar while we'll be paying Dollars for pennies just to maybe stay competitive and not be embarrassed at how well those 2 teams are about to become for 5years. So No on Arroyo unless it came with my idea of trading away Gallardo or Lohse for a talented prospect so we move sideways with the Big Club but improve on the small club which is what this organization needs.
  3. I am looking at the idea of trading Gallardo with his 11mil owed next season, get a top 100 prospect or so at least in return. Take the 11mil and sign some Pitcher on Free Agency. Overall thinking the bump down in that FA Pitcher to the "#4/5 Pitcher" Gallardo is being very little, but meanwhile there's a fresh talented body in our minors the team would otherwise have no ability of attaining. Arizona and Chris Owings/Matt Davidson/David Holmberg? Then as forementioned sign a FA like Scott Kazmir to a similar amount of money deal that Gallardo would have been for the next 2 seasons. Probably a 2+1 25mil/10-14mil option. It's great we have Nick Delmonico from KRod but I'd feel much better are chances of really having a 3b beyond ARam with another hitting talent like Davidson.
  4. How about Aoki for the Mariners Stephen Romero? Perhaps he could be a potential replacement for Ramirez in 2015? As a 24yo, he put up .779 OPS in 375 abs in AAA. No idea about his defense, but can apparently play 2B as well. But looking at Romero's stats this season Seattle played him at LF 73/93 games. With just 8 games in the infield 4 at 3b, 2 each at 1b/2b. But it is plausible. Brad Miller/Nick Franklin era for Seattle has begun 2b/SS. Whether Seattle believes he's capable to play the OF long term or sell him off to a team as a utility Middle infielder they just didn't have the room for remains to be seen. Personally I'd rather shoot for some kind of Pitcher in return for Aoki. Whether a SP or a RP.
  5. You need to look at the bigger sample instead of just picking and choosing what to look at. I was looking at their career lines. I am not saying Aoki might not be of some value in a trade but it looks like Choo is head and shoulders a better hitter. .288/.389/.465/.854 .287/.355/.399/.754 I picked 2012 numbers because that was what Choo did the year of being traded. As that I'm sure is what the buying team in a trade for Aoki is going to work their side the most. You are also taking Choo's career numbers at his prime ages that of which Aoki doesn't have a history. For Aoki's prime numbers and career his line apparently looks like this: .329/.402/.454/.857 I'm not trying to say Choo isn't a better player, but for the most part their numbers aren't far off. I said this somewhere else you can take a look at Ben Revere if need be and trading Trevor May for him. Or Denard Span and trading Alex Meyer for him. There's your about .700 OPS OFs to compare Aoki to with zero power but some Defensive skills. But both those guys are younger and had more than 1 season of team control. I just look at those 3 trades and find Aoki to likely fall somewhere in that for trade value.
  6. Well, there's no way you pay him for the .849OPS. I'd imagine paying him for the .775-.800OPS player he was in the minors though would be where they go in the talks.
  7. For Comparison sake I'm looking at Choo from 2012 and Aoki of 2013 Aoki: .286/.356/.370 80Runs 8HRs 37RBI 20SBs 55/40 k/bb This after a .288/.355/.433 81runs 10HRs 50RBI 30SB 1.5mil owed the next season Choo 2012: .283/.373/.441 88Runs 16HRs 67RBI 21SBs 73/155 k/bb DH League 7.375mil owed the next season You're getting 8-12HRs less in expectation for Aoki but the rest is the same across the line. Only Aoki keeps putting the Ball in Play vs. the difference in Ks for Choo. Yes Aoki's slg is down from the year before but is Aoki the player who hit 37 2bs in 2012 or the guy limited to 20 in 2013? What about Running in to a couple more HRs? 60pts is a difference in slg. that also is the difference in what Aoki slugged in 2012 vs. 2013. For such a player who's numbers across the line are eerily equal from the prior season aside from 2bs/and a couple HRs, can't one put Aoki to maybe be a .400 Slg hitter vs. the .370 of this season? I just can't imagine there's not at least 1-4 managers out there who look at their leadoff hitting situation and not talk to the GM about finding an OB machine to put at the top of their lineup named Aoki? How would Kansas City have done if they Aoki in RF batting leadoff consistently for them this season with Gordon/Butler/Perez/Hosmer to follow? Instead they had Gordon leadoff majority of the time tried Escobar of .259OB bat 5times 1st/69times 2nd? Aoki would just be Mr you know what you're getting atop what should have been a potent lineup. Baltimore had Nate Mcclouth Leadoff to a .258/.329 tune for them(Free Agent) How bout a team like Seattle? RF needed. They had Brad Miller(.318ob) leadoff 67games, and Nick Franklin(.303OB) bat 2nd 59games. Talk about uncertainty night in/out on who's going to bat 1st/2nd. Just put Aoki there problem solved. Cleveland Michael Bourn .263/.316/.360 Leadoff with Nick Swisher batting 2nd majority of the time. and Drew Stubbs RF? .233/.305/.360 Imagine if Cleveland had Aoki in RF and batting atop/2nd in their lineup as #2 for them was a shuffle it up and see for them. I could also go with Pittsburgh but I believe their Prospect is going to graduate to the team next season. Those 3 teams right there, if I were manager I'd be strongly saying hey if we're going to be a 90win team next season, how about that guy Aoki in Milwaukee? I could sure use a consistent Atop the order batter like him. Drove me nuts how futile my Leadoffs were this year. Oh, btw Cincinnati and Choo atop the order this year? 698 runs Cincy last year with previously mentioned Drew Stubbs/Zack Cozart atop the order last season? 669runs. I'd love to see Seattle go after Aoki. Talk to them maybe about Tyler Pike, or long term Bullpen guys/Spot Starters Stephen Pryor/Brandon Maurer. Not sexy gets, well Pike would be, but Pryor/Maurer are the type of guys I can see figuring some stuff out and contributing as a Starter or at the least being fairly dependable 2.5-3.2ERA bullpen guys who the team has control of for 5 more years.
  8. Read the IGT's simply put the RRR hate comes from seeing so and so Yuni/Weeks in the lineups and the run on contact thrown out at home play. The Once again we make outs on the bases seems to have happened almost every 2-3games. Yeah Great Managing right there. According to BRef the team lost 7runs vs. the average player overall as a team in baserunning. Wow, like I said it seemed 2-3 times a week I would see outs on the bases. And can somebody explain this stat that Carlos Gomez was only worth +1 Run on the bases? So yeah must be a pointless stat. Gomez goes 40-7 on SBs gets 1 added run on the bases. Mike Trout goes 33-7 on SBs gets 6Runs added on the Bases. LOL makes perfect sense. I don't get the need to have to announce he's returning as manager immediately following the season. What if a surprise manager is fired from a competitive team? I'd have waited for some of the dust to settle before making my decision to bring him back.
  9. I was high on Estrada to begin 2013 nothing has changed. I said it before Gallardo,Lohse,Estrada our #3 though I like Estrada more to begin this season than Lohse I'll just settle on calling them even. I really believe Estrada has a huge value in trade to a Pitchers ballpark. He has the high K/rate low BB/rate and just has an inflated HR rate. But look at that 2nd half numbers: 58.2IP 33HITS!! That is insane! That means 33/176 or under .200BA....I'm sure there's a couple dbl plays in there but still. .200BAA? That's in Clayton Kershaw's League. You take away a few Cheap HRs at MP and turn them in to outs? Yeah, Marco is Beasting it! He just needs to put a 185+IP season together with these numbers to really make everyone outside of Milw take notice. I'd really love to see Gallardo be the man shopped as he's the name the team has with 200ip history. Then run 2014 with Lohse,Estrada,Peralta, Thornburg/Nelson/ Hellweg/Jungmann as the 4s/5s mix. 11mil saved on the team payroll can be used somewhere like 1b or RP/MI backup. Sure having Gallardo would be great for 2014 considering I just see 4 set of Lohse,Gallardo,Estrada,Peralta and then the other 4 trying to find time on the mound to pitch at #5? When all 4 are atop your prospect rankings making room for 2 of them should be a priority. It's time to turnover talent to replenish with talent if this team is going to be like Tampa. Gallardo is the play to trade. Otherwise what we would have to be worried about is watching Melvin&Co send 1 or 2 away of Thornburg/Nelson/Jungmann in trade for a post-season run since there's a blockage on our roster for them.
  10. I don't think it's a statistical oddity when you have what 2 .400 OB guys batting ahead of you? Especially when 1 is Votto who walks so frequently meaning likely a ton of 2men OB ABs. As to the Votto bashing, Look at his splits:RISP .291/.477/.455/.932 Pretty much in line with his season average. You look at situational and runners on 2/3 and 1/2/3 he's 1/17 with 11BBs And the 2outs RISP: 6/37 with 15BBs .162/.415/.351 2HRs 13RBI but 4 of them came with 2out Bases loaded walks! So 9RBI via hits on the season with 2out RISP. That is likely why he's getting bashed. Is he really deserving of the bashing? No. It's one year and 5-6hits short of being to his average. He had another 6+WAR season which on a 4.5mil/perWAR basis is worth 27+mil on the season. Only paid 17mil this year so how much more performance do you need from him?
  11. I'll be honest but I really wouldn't be surprised if Lawrie's career winds up looking similar to Aramis Ramirez's. Sketchy with show of talent in the early years and then some solid/great years and oft injured years. We lost a good player. And there's no doubt in my mind Lawrie will put his talent through a season that sees 7+ in WAR Maybe for a couple/few seasons. Both of the last two seasons he had his OPS around .755 before seeing it tail off to end each season. Though 2012 was likely due to injury, this season it may have been due to lack of interest down the stretch. I don't know what it is, but there's payday years coming up. That I'm sure will mature him up. Having an agent sit you down and show you the money he could be staring at with this line of numbers vs what Lawrie is showing...Yeah A great 16month stretch should just about do it in 2016/2017.
  12. Another 3+WAR season by Aoki. Well I guess by BRef, by Fangraphs list him at 1.9. Overall Aoki is a top 100 baseball player in MLB and his OB of .356 ranks 8th as a RF. I probably said it already but the close comparison to go by is ShinSoo Choo. A man who Arizona parted with Trevor Bauer and Cincy Didi Gregorious. Two top 100 prospects. Aoki is very cheap for similar production minus about 10HRs. You look at Ely's mention above: Giants have RHP Clayton Blackburn #93 via MLB, Orioles LHP Eduardo Rodriquez #84, Tampa RHP Alex Colome #81 A few things though. Tampa will look to trade Price, not sure if Aoki fits in to a team who trades away their staff Ace in this offseason. Baltimore looks a mess for SP, Bundy's injury I think really curtailed their momentum and plans with he and Gausman. You're staring at a Wei-Chen,Bud Norris, and Miquel Gonzalez stalworths and then Gausman/Bundy to fill it out when ready. I just don't think 1year acquiring Aoki with their makeup is worth a prospect this offseason. 2years would have done better but 1year no. That leaves the Giants....they have Pence in RF and Pagan was extended this last offseason. So LF replacing Gregor Blanco? Just don't see that happening. I couldn't really tell you who's going to go after Aoki. Texas is one I can see using Aoki. Sorta the replacing David Murphy type. Like Choo, I am at the thought now that Aoki will only leave in trade when other player(s) are packaged. for Cleveland it was a Utility IF, Dud 1b, and a BP guy. Gee, wonder how the Brewers stand with that kind of package? I'm sure we have that to send with Aoki no?
  13. 74-88 2losses from picking 7th instead 12th. 15-11 for the month. Started the month with 5th worst record. Passed Minnesota(.5gb), Philly(2.5GB), NYMets (3.5GB) Colorado (5GB!), Toronto(2.5GB), and Seattle(3GB) Seattle,Minnesota,Cubs,Colorado,Mets all tanked in Sept. Toronto shut down any and all who had any kind of minor injury. The team went 7-8 vs. Playoff teams in the month. 8-3 vs Cubs/Mets. That Mets series Brewers jumped to 4-0,3-0 leads. Mets were punchless as those 2quick losses by them put them in control in the standings over Milwaukee. Other teams got it, what moving up in the draft order meant in September. Brewers were essentially eliminated back in August the 3rd(Yes I know they were practically done after May). But finished the season 28-24 from there. Just had to find 4 more losses to pick 6th in the draft over those 52games. (3 if we lose one of those Seattle wins) Let's look at the picks in the 2000s of meaningful players at 12: Jay Bruce,Jered Weaver at 11:Neil Walker,Andrew McCutchen,Max Scherzer at10:Tim Lincecum,Madison Bumgarner at 9:John Danks at 8:Paul Maholm at 7:Prince Fielder,Nick Markakis,Troy Tulowitzki,Clayton Kershaw,Mike Minor,Matt Harvey at 6:Zach Grienke,Zach Wheeler at 5:Mark Texiera,Ryan Braun,Matt Wieters,Buster Posey at 4:Gavin Floyd,Ryan Zimmerman You can just see the difference from 5,6,7 vs. 8-12
  14. The reason they lose the tiebreaker is because the Brewers have a tougher strength of schedule than those teams. The Brewers aren't a 90 loss team - they just play in the toughest division in baseball. Same as Atlanta isn't a 95-win team; they get to beat up on the Marlins, Phillies, and Mets instead of playing St. Louis, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh. Don't forget Max Scherzer, who was drafted #11, exactly where the Brewers are sitting now. The tiebreaker is record from last season. So we had a better record than all 3 and if we lose tomorrow and they all win and tie us even though we will have the same record we will lose that tiebreaker I'm sure once again for 2014...Though it's doubtful it should come in to play but you never know. That's b2b season finishing right with Philly. As it stands Milw has the 11th worst record...but the 12th pick in draft since Toronto has the 11th selection for not signing their 10th pick. So no on the Max Scherzer comparison. And the top ten picks are protected from QO signings so there's another hit by Milwaukee finishing with these wins no protection to sign a QO player. Considering the way the team is headed the only answer right now to justify their moves is to buy for 2014 so I'm fully expecting a major signing. That means another season without a #1 draft pick. So yeah I was rooting for the team to lose a couple more games this week not to finish with likely 5straight wins. And as stated earlier in this thread, this just isn't about having a 5th or top ten pick, it's the money allotment tied to the draft as well as the international players. Start of the week Milw was 7th and now fall to 11th. That's 600k in international money/900k with 50% overage or more money than the highest paid signing we had this season at 800k. Meaning a top 25 international player lost due to these wins. And/or maybe the difference between signing 2 top 30 players and signing a top 3 player with serious talent potential. It's just a kick to the teeth because even though a 12th pick can be successful, the expectations are likely for the player to take 3-5years to make it on to the team vs. seeing a top 6 pick maybe make in 2-3max. Oh, and our history with the 12th pick? Jungmann tbd, Mike Jones 0games, Ken Felder 0games not good.
  15. It's now down to 6th through 13th. Still have to fear the lose in tiebreaker over every team buy San Fran. 4 Teams with 85 losses 2 less than Milw that our 7th would become 10th on a tie. No top 5 hope anymore.
  16. Looking at the list of 2014 salaries, the 1 player that stands out to me is Chad Billingsley. I'm pretty sure I mentioned that idea before for trade deadline moves a month before it. Dodgers do have an Option on Mark Ellis to pick up at half of Rickie's cost. But maybe Weeks upside offensively while removing Billingsley from their Roster is all that matters to them. For Milwaukee, you get a complete question mark but maybe you use CB from the bullpen and slowly work him back up to the occasional starts? I think Milw loses on the deal but for me they win in that they at least get a Pitcher for a player that has lost value to remain on the team. The Dodgers are looking good for Pitching for quite awhile and shedding Billingsley just frees up their future decisions.
  17. That's a tough call. We get a Defensive 3b with some middle of the line Batting ability but a guy who's OB is scary. We mix this team with Gennett,Segura,Gomez,Dominguez,Schafer? That's just a ton of no BBs all hits for OB for an NL team. We could be looking at a full squad of all 5 of them with under .300 OB being more likely than over .325OB. That's the thing with Davidson from Arizona same lack of OB% I'd rather aim higher giving up Davis than Dominguez or Davidson due to his Power and still OB skills. All Davis has done is Rake in his career. But the scouting reads he's not going to be good for defense. Thus reading to me as DH/4th OF. Teams like Tampa/Houston/Texas/Minnesota/White Sox I'm sure could find a home for Davis. It'd be great to snag one of Houston's promising pitchers but not likely. Maybe Oberholzer? Kind of a similar looking player to Davis in terms of the overlooked but capable and not a high round draft choice. Lefty! Yay! For Houston to me really depends what they decide to do with Chris Carter. Singleton should be at 1b and do they really use Carter as a DH? or ship him to some other team? If they view Carter as their DH then I don't see a reason Houston would entertain trading for Davis. It really is just too bad Davis can't defend 1b.
  18. Oh, I'm not a fan of the idea either. That's more or less looking at it from Texas' end to figure out that Infield they have. Kinsler/Profar/Andrus aren't going anywhere, but Moreland..now there's the selling piece. My issue is believing that Melvin/Mark A. will trade Davis for any kind of future face of the team type player. That Davis fits the perfect Bandaid prospect to trade away and solve a problem on the team. I'd rather just run Hunter Morris out there with Halton every day next season without Hart on the Team. But BFnet knows that when the end of the season stats are gleened over guess what is going to stand out? The entire lack of production from 1b! And this is a FO that Reacts remember so the reaction either will be to resign Hart or make a move like trading for Moreland. It comes down to the Payroll when I look at that and what does Hart ask for? I think with the team's obligations and it's likely Hart won't sell himself short and is priced out of the team's ability to sign. Now I could just be the dreamer and say Khris Davis for Luke Jackson. Done. Khris Davis for Roughned Odor done. Looks amazing on our side now don't it? But then every poster will come here and say there is no way Texas deals those either of those two for Davis. So what is the right suggestion? What is the in between players from Jackson/Odor to Moreland...Let me know
  19. Which is the opposite of why so many players weren't moved during the deadline...Because their were less teams who would be trading for a 3b. The largest market time is going to be around the Winter Meetings. Btw, something that happens often is the 3 team trade. Yankees get ARam. Yankees send someone to some other team. That team sends over the minor league player to us. There's likely of course 3 other roster filler guys included in the deal. The biggest thing for me in seeing ARam being NY's answer for 3b in 2014 is that I'm going to guess that ARam is capable to adjust to playing in NY under the pressure. Something a guy like Chase Headley I have serious doubts after the letdown season he's having after the breakout the year before. I'm going to take a guess Ivan Nova/Phil Hughes/Michael Pineda are 1 of the movable pieces the Yankees use.
  20. Texas anyone? Aren't they hungry for an OF with Cruz and Murphy leaving? And then add Berkman and that's OF/OF/DH....Three exact positions Davis would fill for them? Already know their farm system is stocked about everywhere else but OF. But who do you get in return? And what in return are you looking for? Future or 2014/2015 help? Can you take Luis Sardinas from them with Odor clearly becoming the better talent in an already overstocked MI? What does that do though for us with Gennett/Segura? One has to assume Odor/Jackson are off limits, so then what? Promising Bullpen guys? We found Delmonico so why bother with Gallo? It'll be interesting to see how desperate Texas is for OF help. They are in such a weird position having Andrus/Profar and then Kinsler/Moreland...Ooops... oh wait there's the answer...Davis for Mooreland. 1b solved for 2014 for Milw/Texas. Kinsler moves to 1b. Moreland becomes our 1b. No Corey Hart bum knees needed.
  21. 7th and climbing. Fortunately the 11-13th teams are on a winning run like the Brewers. 3.5 ahead of Philly for 13th. It really isn't looking good with Cubs/Mets series and the younger guys again helping the team to win...whodathunk? I can see an 8-5 record rest of the way and settling at 12th worst record(13th pick) Cant believe we keep beating Cinncy!
  22. I can't find a reason to sign any of these pitchers with the team's current makeup of Pitching. Lohse already Plugged a hole for our younger guys to not fill and adding another would plug 1 more. Clearly we have Lohse,Gallardo,Peralta 1,2,3. And I've been a fan of Estrada to be #4 for a long while in statement. That leaves 1 spot for Thornburg,Hellweg,Nelson, and Jungmann. Hmm, I guess that's not a lot of depth. I look at that list and see no one that jumps out to me...Kazmir? Is about it. The team needs to fill their holes via trade of either Braun or Gomez or even going the route of Lohse or Gallardo...but in that case I would look at that as rebuilding and have to send Gomez or Braun away as well because just 1 trade of Lohse or Gallardo isn't going to fix the franchise's Pitching problems.
  23. This will all come down to the Cubs/Mets series. If the Brewers win those series they will pick 8th. If they lose them then we are in the 4th-6th pick likelihood. Seattle/Mets as mentioned earlier are Tanking. Minnesota and Cubs are just bad. San Diego has pulled a little ahead to look in the 10th pick. and San Fran we have the tiebreaker so I expect them to remain above Milw. Let's keep those L's coming and a top 5 pick!
  24. See New York Yankees 3b of 2014...ARod suspended. Youkilis gone. Oh and DH? BRef lists Yankees DH as Hafner. 3 Players all of whom will be gone for 2014. Don't know who we could get from the Yankees. I guess it really all depends how much of ARam's salary they can handle to remain under the luxury tax threshold. But the Yanks are who I see working a trade with for ARam for 2014 season. The Brewers would have to pay at least half of Ramirez salary for next year plus the $4m buyout for the Yankees to be interested at all. Then there is the issue of the Yankees having basically nothing that they would trade for Ramirez. The Yankees minor league system is worse than the Brewers right now. Why does it have to be who the Yankees have in just their minor league system? Looking at players on their roster, Vidal Nuno? SP/Long Reliever? Lefty. Looks just like the type of SP that Melvin pulls off the scrapheap/non usage by a team and gets a season's worth of solid production over 2seasons of time. Take a RH 3b/Utility guy like David Adams to platoon with Francisco/Gennett. He at least appears to have a positive on defense and his career Minors OPS is .817 so maybe he will handle the bat better then he has this season. Considering what we've paid for Ramirez..16mil these 2 seasons paying half of the 16mil owed next season to free up 8mil of salary to pick up two cheap depth type players works for me. At least when I'm in the thought process that the injury risk is too big to hold on to Ramirez for a great talent at his price vs. getting cheap added depth on the roster that is younger. I'll take the depth, and use that 8mil. on hopefully someone who will provide some impact on the team. Could we do better? For sure. But it's the matter of will any other team after the Yankees take Ramirez at his price/age and actually need a 3b? The Yankee Franchise can't commit to going in to 2014 selling to their fans Adams as their starting 3b. With Arod's suspension but still 4years remaining of contract, it makes it unlikely they splash the cash to sign a FA 3b for 3-4years/the FA not willing to sign to a 1yr/2yr contract. So to me it just looks like a solid fit for NY.
