  1. Just realized my name here has been reduced at times to bcd80 and 80 in essence makes it bcde. Lets add Im a fan to complete the cycle bcdef.
  2. Thats B2B games where Hader should have never been seen warming up in the dugout. Cant believe he had to warm-up yesterday. Now today actually pitching. He wasnt sharp.
  3. OmL this just can't be happening. 3rd free pass this inning. Woodruff 7IP 0 free passes. Next 2 pitches outs, ty bottom of Padres order.
  4. Think he just went to DFA. Hes now allowed more free passes via walks/HBP than Innings pitched. Nevermind allowing hits.
  5. Just looked through bis BRef game logs and JBJ has had worse starting seasons than this. Found his way back towards .700OPS. But hes carried a 500OPS through July in a couple. Amazing he could stay in MLB while Broxton can not.
  6. Their hitting is worse and their pitching is worse. Yet they are only one game behind us... Baseball. Haniger has as many HRs as Yelich has hits-12. So somebody is at least carrying some offense in games for Sea. At 60 games if this team is still in the teens on NL offense its past time to rid of Haines. Last season's 60game small sample size would have been repeated and 120games isnt as much of a small sample. Putting it simply, I'm upset, the Brewers group that owns the team along with Mark A., they must be flipping boiling mad at the utter awfulness of the offense a huge amount of money is paying for.
  7. Tristen Lutz has over a 1. OPS in 11games-45PA with 3HRs at AA. FGs have his with about 40% of of Balls in play going opposite field. He'd be knocking at the ML door right now if pandemic hadn't wiped away a year to showcase at AA already. And yes I was inferring above that small market teams are AAAA. Production for FAs to be.
  8. To make room for Ben Gamel. Dunno what happened been away all weekend. But Gamel-OF Frazier- 1b/3b just for optics.
  9. Saw this Tweet for the three starting pitchers you’re referring to... Combined stats for [the Brewers “big three”] in 2021: 21 starts 122.2 IP 28 R, 27 ER 180 strikeouts, 31 walks 39% K, .150 BAA, 0.77 WHIP 1.98 ERA, 1.99 FIP Outstanding!
  10. One team has a Brice Turang future SS with 2years of Orlando Arcia the other has Fernando Tatis Jr, waiting to play SS. Milw had Cain, Yelich for 4more seasons and like I mentioned Tristan Lutz a 1st rd selection about to play AA for 2020. Reminder that in getting Lauer at that time, Burnes had just pitched one of the worst SP seasons ever, as well as Milw's MiLB pitcher of the yr 2018 Zack Brown. Lauer was coming off near 150IP, the kind of cheap controlled SP who could pitch a near full season's workload. The youth on the SP staff could not be counted for that. Davies was about to get 5-6mil a year for what he'd done but he just seemed to be a guy when he lost it it was going to bebig drop in performance. I think he out-priced himself and being able to move him for value before Arb made him needing to continue pitching as well as he'd been just to be of salary value. Lauer saved 5mil to use elsewhere. The trade made sense, still does. Brewers have 2 ML starting players to show for it,1 with upside to extend in the future.
  11. Where's Ryan Braun today? Why did they sign Avifail Garcia if they had a set OF going into 2020? Braun was likely done for 2021 or in need of a change in his role where Grisham could have been the everyday replacement. Trent Grisham has now hit 3.6 WAR for his Padres career and Luis Urias is sitting at 0.1. Add in the +1.3 WAR from Davies over Lauer and no indication that Lauer can get anyone not in a Dodgers uniform out, there is a huge hole of performance for the Brewers to see any win from that trade. Sure it's early, but most teams don't come back from a 10 run deficit and that's what this trade looks like now... Grisham wouldn't have played enough for 2020 to produce value in the mind of Stearns pre-pandemic. Mentioned Lutz as a possible callup for 2021. Garcia essentially being a placeholder when that money wouldn't have gone to use for a SS upgrade. How to upgrade SS. Get Urias. Davies will be a FA after this season, Lauer will have 3 more seasons. 2020 was 60 games. Again the point in that trade was to be better at SS, controlled cheaply. It's not the WAR Grisham puts up over Urias as comparisin, but the WAR Urias puts up over Arcia's 2019 WAR vs Grisham's WAR. But again Pandemic happened, Urias's injury/Covid, 60game season. Stearns had to use resources to find an improvement at SS. OF is/was something he could cover with money and stay relevant there. Point here is the trade had a reason. 2020 improvement at SS, a low cost SP for back end of rotation, competing more with your starting position players vs backups(Grisham would have been) pandemic threw logic and reason behind the trade out the window in 2020 and here we sit.
  12. Did I think that? I know Ive been concerned how he would recover from that kneecap. Arenado, I don't think anyone believed he'd be traded for such a small return with money included. He's still being paid more yearly than Yelich. The trade occurred after Yelich's extension after pandemic. Hard sell to fit that one.
  13. Going back to Grisham trade. Brewers had Cain, Yelich, Braun in the OF for 2020 a full season before pandemic. The team got the worst SS production from Arcia. Urias was a former top 30? Prospect in the minors. Grisham just re-entering the top 100. What happened next nobody was going predict. Ideally the team improved at SS long term over Arcia...tbd. Tristan Lutz another 1st rd OF was preparing to play AA for 2020. Who ideally replaces Braun in the OF. Yelich broke that kneecap to end 2019. MVP in NL had he not. Cain signed for 3 more seasons after a Gold glove in 2019. Grisham was blocked, Urias was not. The attempt was to put out a better SS product for 2020. Pandemic happened. Cain opted out. Urias had an injury and covid. 60gm season. Lauer was cheaper and had more team control for a pitcher that resembled Davies outside of Coors Field. The Pandemic has really made Stearns moves look awful after something he has no control over. As for offense today, there's no Yelich post-MVP adding to the offense. Garcia was a temporary fix over a Tyrone Taylor 4th OF backup with an easy to move contract. We were big-marketed on FA signings like. Donaldson. The mistake I can truly go on is extending Yelich without a post injured kneecap season to see the effect it put on him. Donaldson would have been the money I used what Yelich money he invested in. If having a full 2020, Lutz is likely in our OF over Garcia. Urias is well ahead the curve than where he resides. Cain/JBJ wouldn't be happening. Hiura may have spent time in minors already and solved the problem at the plate over the offseason. Etcetera. The good on 2020 is Burnes became elite. Airbender became a reality. Yes offense is bad but having your near B2B MVP become the next Braun post PED scandal immediately can't be prepped for. You took a guy who's bat was over 50runs of value 2Straight seasons. To getting 6runs of value in 96 team games. 1/3rd a run a game of offense gone plus whatever the negative replacement. It's all a bunch of bad luck. Mixed with a few bad decisions, and a manager changing his managing style.
  14. Understand we played Perez during his peak athletic seasons during 5seasons to a tune value of 3.4BWAR. Him being in any plans has to be a callup for a bullpen game or two with another Wong injury or Shaw injury. We cant get 1month in to the minor league play fast enough so we can call up say a Turang or anybody hitting better than their weight.
  15. Of course not. We're a AAAA team for the larger markets who will take these guys from us when their control is over. Also feel fairly confident our farm isn't as bad as ranked currently. Just missed a full season of minors play that hindered growing a farm's reputation. We were thought of as poor in 2019 it continues with no real knowledge how far the youth have come. There are a number of guys with 2020 being a gage on talent year where a good year they'd be well positioned to land within current top 100 prospect rankings or honorable mentions. You also have the next CBA to consider how future trades, FA losses, team control, compensatory picks, etc to see if advantage or disadvantage on trading them. These are SPs that have extreme value holding and RPs can be recycled far easier to handle a loss while potentially gaining a SP.
  16. DFA'd by Pirates today.
  17. Still going to say the pitching that is carrying this team will flame out as innings are piled up. Not even Ronald Acuna inserted in to this offense can overcome the wilted pitchers come September. Team needs to stand pat and fill from within. If they don't find themselves a Justin Verlander vet to carry your team to WS like done with Houston there's just no arms to feel comfortable about leading this team in playoffs this season. You can shut guys down a month to make it, but how's that regular season record going with those arms missing?
  18. Theres no way Green Bay plays a down with A-Rod at QB. Just look at this thread's responses. The only way it could happen is Green Bay put it upon themselves to remove any media questions about this. Like literally ban interviews and post game conferences involving players all together. Just Gutey and Lafluer. So the moment some reporter goes to ask about the Rodgers situation they shut it down and end it all right there. It is a cancer that the media reporting will drum every week throughout the preseason, season, and post season in to the offseason if Rodgers is still a Green Bay Packer. How can all the other players handle that through 17games that aren't close to Rodgers' vest? If you're not in his inner circle and first thing a reporter goes to ask you after a game becomes-Any news on the Aaron Rodgers saga? Is this rumor true? Would GB trade for X player? Do you want X-Player or Rodgers on your team? Meanwhile, the guy is Stokes or Savage after a 2Int game, or Gary after a 2 sack game, or Dillon after a 100plus game with 2TDs, and this is what is coming post game. Some NY or Espn reporter that will just remain relentless to drum up drama and rumors. All until this is resolved. Good luck with that.
  19. Maybe the structure goes something like- top 14pick only. 15-21 is 1st plus 3rd. 22-32 is 1st plus 2nd rd picks. However you make it work. But I dunno on having this say done 2 straight years. Maybe for 2022 only and 2023 youre stuck with that teams' 1st rd pick regardless where its at? I would say that clause may be reversed so it happens in 2023 vs 2022. Just 2022's 1st and then that contingency for 2023. Basically giving that team a chance to draft a year with both their 2nd and 3rd to surround Rodgers or build playoff team roster with valuable picks. Edit add. What if this becomes so complicated, the NFL literally changes how trades or cap hits are addressed under a "Rodgers rule"
  20. What hurts the most is the cap hit on trade. Like how about taking some team's contract to offset the amount like in baseball. Thing here is that Green Bay is penalized for the trade. What is the team Rodgers is traded to on the hook for the next 2 seasons? If there's a team that wants Rodgers but are up against the cap themselves, how do they make the trade work? Green Bay couldn't swap for a player to even out the trade so it would work?
  21. Would a trade involving 2 or 3 1st rd picks be possible to hold a conditional value picks? Like say 2022 and 2023 1st rd picks only on condition they are a top 20 and if not the 3rd round pick for that season is included? Also, what teams out there possess future 1st round picks already besides their own? So you acquire 2 1st rd picks to use along with your own for 3 1sts in one season? A team with 2 1sts in 2022 and their 1st in 2023 even if on the lower side believing Rodgers lead team finishes a 12 win or better season has to hold fair amount of value. Any team trading for Rodgers most likely is in the same scenario we've always been, an injury to him and your season is going to be lucky to see 7wins. Drag this out in to preseason or even in to the season until a team suffers a QB injury. Make the trade then and a Rodgers report to team with no practice leads to a more likely injury based on fitness during the rush back to playing football. There is your high 1st rd draft pick coming back. I think the team will best be served with coming out and saying that Aaron is allowed to do what he wants to do. If that means retiring from football, we are going to prepare from this day moving forward with Jordan Love to be our QB. We'll continue talking with Aaron and within reason seek a solution that works best for our Green Bay organization. Probably bring Jordan Love to this press conference to speak as you have just declared him as you QB moving forward. Field his share of questions to do the "I'm looking forward to getting in training camp, film, practicing with the #1 guys," type of feel good media talk. When doing this, it shows that you have a decision on the direction all the Offensive starters can prepare mentally who you're rallying around at QB. Not to keep this in the air what you're going to do, question who's our Qb in 2021.
